"Are going to talk a little bit about the election. They look, there's no way not to do it right. I can tell you how beautiful the day is, and hopefully a bit outside and you've enjoyed it. But we've got this thing in the background. Ah, this election. Is it the end of the country? Are we all done? Should we just start drinking heavily and smoking and eating sticks of butter? You know, it's not a bad idea any day of the week, and he's not necessarily the most healthy thing. Not my way to go. But We will get through this. The question becomes, What do we look like? But if I were to do a conspiracy theory Here's the conspiracy theory. I would spin That there were efforts undertaken to To push this election towards Joe Biden. All right, everybody's with me on that right? Because everyone's thinking Well, yeah, that's what I think. Or that I know somebody who thinks that Here's the other part of it. If I were to do a conspiracy theory, I would say It's not a blowout. See if this is a blowout, if if Joe Biden defeats Donald Trump by 100 million votes Everybody says Man. Trump blew it by didn't want it and we all go on about our day. We don't think twice about it. We just accept the re the reaction that Ah, well, I guess we're changing courses or this changes the way America's going to behave from now because that would be a mandate. Right, and we would not further investigated But if I were to do A conspiracy theory. I would say. Why don't we do this? Why don't we have Biden win by a little bit here a little bit there. It's enough to swing the election to him, which is really what we want. But in addition to that it's enough to sew a lot of seeds of discontent. And lack of confidence. Your Mistakes Can Bury You, Or Plant You
"I shared a quote with you from the losing coach in the Australian football Grand Final today. I'm sharing a quote from the winning coach because when he was asked about the various mistakes and failures that they've made throughout the game throughout the season and throughout the years his comment was you can choose to let your mistakes bury you or you can choose to let them plant you and become the foundation of Greater success. So you can use those mistakes and those failures as experienced as the foundation stones of building something much bigger and I think that's a great way to think about mistakes in general failures short-term long-term. It's really up to you to decide how you treat those failures and those mistakes if you treat them as something that is overwhelming that you can't get over then yeah, probably you're going to get buried but If you can find a way to use them as Foundation blocks to use them to plant you you can actually go on and Achieve much greater success. So that's a quote from Damien Hardwick the coach of the Richmond football club won the third Grand Final in the last four years, which is pretty annoying for me cuz that's not my team and you know who you are if you're a Richmond supporter

Yes, my wife and I have Ah, worked with the army in a number of different countries, primarily in Kenya way were there for eight years, and we've seen all kinds of things that have emphasized the importance of this for us. Uh, I can tell you one story. When we were in rural Kenya, living in a little, the community called Kakamega. We went toe one home, which was essentially ah dirt floor, some metal sheets and mud And when we walked inside, the woman who lived there proudly showed us on her wall. They have hopes and dreams and plans. For their future and to make a better and fuller life for themselves and their Children. That's what poverty really means. Virginia voter registration extended after website crash
"Election. 2020 Virginia voters got an extra day this year to register to vote. Sabrina Marino of the Richmond Times. Dispatch joins us on this story, Sabrina Marino explained what happened yesterday that led to today's extension. Yeah. So you know, yesterday with the whirlwind, as with everything nowadays, it kind of started with the tweets. And so yesterday morning, the Virginia Department of Elections posted that Horizon Cable was cut near the headquarters of an agency that you know, provided technical support for various states. Entities, you know, including the Virginia Department of Health and Virginia Employment Commission and, of course, the Virginia Department of Elections. So, basically the elections website crashed, which meant that on the last day for Jenny residents coded register to vote, they couldn't online for several hours and then also impacted. Early in person voting with Freddie Starr's offices statewide, you know, fighting that they couldn't access the full books or verify voter eligibility, and even though it was prepared by 3 30 called it already mounted to extended registration deadline, which is something that the governor did not have the authority to do and said So in his briefing, and then hours later, a lawsuit was filed. How is that cable cut? So there was a roadside utilities project in Chesterfield County, and, you know, they released a statement kind of thing that it was quote. Inadvertently struck and there's not more information other than not, and they're saying it was an accident. And that roadside utilities project is a super installation. And that happened in the early morning yesterday and that part of you been in the works since May. And it was right next to the headquarters of the major agency. That kind of is the you know, the technical support for for a lot of state agencies. So their website crashed. You mentioned the governor's involvement here. How hard is it to change a voter registration deadline in the Old Dominion? So from what I've done will be gathered. It's pretty difficult and you know, they're the governor's legal counsel, said yesterday in the briefing that they don't have the authority to just change the registration deadline that is in, you know in the state coat and that on DH You know they were talking about how that is kind of litigation. It takes the courts and they couldn't violet themselves. They sighted legal procedures for that, and So it takes litigation where it takes the General Assembly and so happened back in 2016. There was a computer glitch right before the 2016 election also occurred. You know, in October and there was There's a lawsuit filed again and back then Virginians were given a 36 hour extension to register. But back then it was, you know, a plaintiff has to file the lost two and both times the lawyers Committee for Civil Rights under law was the person who filed it on behalf of you know, advocacy groups and people who kind of register to vote. Is there any way of finding out who tried to register yesterday and couldn't and to reach out to them or what's being done to let them know about the extension through tomorrow? Yeah, so right now we do not have You know specific numbers of how many people weren't able to vote. But the lawsuit was filed with the intent to explain how this is out of voters of control and that the website crashing impacted thousands of voters with a disproportionate impact on black, indigenous and Latino people. And so part of the lawsuit Also included that Register's office. State officials had to issue press releases by 11:38 A.m. this morning, you know, kind of for local writer Sharp to be notified of this order. And so that was also a part of what the federal judge ruled today was, you know? Yes, we're extending the deadline and Virginia 11 59 on Thursday, but You also have to issue project leases. And so that was a way to kind of push the state butt and make sure that you know registrars were aware that this extension was granted and that people could be registering to vote, You know, passed yesterday deadline. Was there Anybody arguing against the extension? So we haven't seen it yet? Of course. We were seeing new kind of change by the hour. But, you know, even Republicans were plotting decision and they weren't at the Sarah. We You know, having pushed back against the decision, but against Northern administration, they said that it was a failure of the states for letting this happen. And even the defendant, Virginia Department of Elections Commissioner this morning said that you know this kid eligible Virginia's additional time to register or update their current voter registration record, and in a statement, the Republican Party You know, kind of made a joke that was like, you know, make sure next time you call Miss Utility and so and then I've been different than other states. You know, in Florida, there was pushback when lost me. Their registration deadline was pushed and challenged in the courts. And but we're not really seeing that right now with Virginia, with the exception that the Republican Party Did say that it was Northern Administration's fault. And besides that I have not seen pushback otherwise is their efforts to ensure that the voter registration system isn't tied to one cable in the future. Or is that something we're expecting in the coming days and weeks? Yeah. So in the briefing yesterday, Some of the Northern administration was talking about how you know this cable would put on a 10 gigabyte circuit and it was placed in the spring due to Corbett because of the increased workload because of You know a lot of traffic, a lot of people working from home, so they needed a backup, but the back of To that was not strong enough. And with the innovation of people going to register online, you know the backup wasn't enough. And so that's what they were kind of explaining, And they said, you know that they're working on pushing. So in the event that something like this were to happen, the backup would be able T sustain it and so That's kind of where we're at right now. And and yeah, and that's why that's why they were thinking. All right. Next time. You need a better backup. Um, but us for next step. We haven't heard much on that. Sabrina Marino
Federal judge extends Virginia voter registration
"Judge has ordered the Virginia Department of Elections to extend the state's voter registration deadline. The website crashed yesterday, the last day to sign up Whitney Evans of member station V. P. M explains. The outage began Tuesday in the early morning and lasted until about 4 P.m.. After someone struck a fiber optic line while digging in a Richmond suburb voter advocacy group sued the Department of Elections to extend the deadline to 11 59 PM on Thursday, October 15th. They argued the outage deprived eligible voters of their opportunity to register in time for the November election and hampered their ability to carry out their core mission. The judge at Wednesday's hearing, said the incident is a lesson and getting approval from utilities to dig. It also not waiting until the last minute to register to vote. A similar outage affected voters at the close of voter registration in October of 2016.
Never Surrender, with Garbled Twistory
"Into Slavery Gabriel Prosser grew to be a strapping young man trained as a blacksmith and learned to read he his brothers and his wife hatched a plan to not only a free themselves from bondage, but all enslaved people in Virginia their plan was to gather more men take over the capitol of Richmond and kill all the white people with the exception of methodists Quakers and the French processor. Would then rule the New Kingdom of Virginia. The plan didn't work. My name's Moxi and this is your brain on facts. Why didn't they Rebel this is a question that should have occurred to every American schoolchild when studying the Civil War and slavery. Why didn't they Rebel the truth of the matter is they did more than one third of the population in the south in the eighteenth Century or enslaved people in the 1943 Book American negro slave revolts historian Herbert aptheker estimated. There were over 250 rebellions of enslaved people in the US between 1619 and 1865 some historians put that number over 300. So rebellion was a lot more common than we were led to believe and even if enslaved people weren't taking apart in an armed Uprising many would fight back in small ways painting food work slowdowns feigning injury. Damaging equipment and so forth the new world had slave rebellions basically as long as there were people enslaved. They're the first documented Rebellion taking place on San Domingo on Christmas Day 1522 some rebellions managed to make it into the history books and pop culture like the seizure of the Amistad when a boat full of kidnapped Africans over through their captors and took control of the ship to both win their freedom and be memorialized in a film by Steven Spielberg. The first recorded slave revolt in the United States happened an hour down the road from me in Gloucester Virginia in 1663. White indentured servants included enslaved Africans in their plan to do away with their master and be free another servant betrayed them and was rewarded with his freedom. It would be nearly twenty-five years as far as we know off. Before the first all black slave revolt which again took place in Virginia. The largest slave rebellion outside the United States was the successful Insurrection of black slaves that overthrew French rule and abolished slavery in Saint domingue establishing the agenda nation of Haiti that proved unequivocally that the enslaved could defeat their captors and live free that precedent frightened and slavers on the mainland suck slave owners actively repressed any sign of rebellion laws dictating when where and how slaves could congregate were enacted to prevent Insurrection and quavo light paranoia. It's the same reason the enslaved were forbidden from learning to read or write words spread ideas and your captives May develop repetto Mania wage medical condition and let this make you grateful your doctor actually had to go to school the mental illness that caused black slaves to want to run away. Yeah, that's what these folks told themselves in case you thought the narrative myth of the happy slave was a recent invention. With Plantation populations under tight control Insurrection would tend to come from the cities or parts of the country where there were lots of small farms rather than one big one. We don't have time today to talk about all three hundred rebellions. We'll just hit on some of the ones that are most likely to make you ask why you're high school history textbook included between zero and one slave rebellion. Well at the same time definitely mentioning white John Brown at Harpers Ferry. Records are a bit spotty for our first subject the Stono Rebellion in South Carolina in 1793. History is colored both by the mouth of the teller and the ear of The Listener with their preconceptions, and we only have one firsthand contemporary account. Early on a late-summer Sunday morning 20 enslaved people gathered near the Stono River Why Sunday morning a recently passed law required all woke up men to carry firearms with them to church on Sunday. So the rebels made their move when the men and at least some of the guns would be elsewhere.

The Parents Are Not Alright
"I'm in the virtual studio today with producer Ginny Moon Hey Jeannie I'm waving to you all the way from Harlem, Hey Maria, I'm in Queens. So Jeannie were talking about our favorite topic today parenting, right? Yeah and parenting in twenty twenty is a whole new level parenting. You know what I have adult children now. So honestly, I am so thankful that I do not have to be raising little kids during this time I just can't imagine. So what have you been doing because how old is your little boy now Medina's turning three it's been an adventure I don't know how else to put it. But in this adventure, you're not really going anywhere, right? No, it's an adventure within the four walls of our apartment. So what's it been like like? How do you even manage it I don't some days and some days I do. I had to cut back to part time. So when everything shut down I, just tried to manage the best I could. But it became too much I. was burnt out I was trying to work at night I was trying to work in his nap times and also like switching gears from mom to try and. Write an email or work I can't multitask again if I have a toddler running around in the background running my life like he's the boss, I can hear my in the background saying Mommy's. But yeah, you just Kinda deal with it. Yeah. I have to say in the beginning the only way I made it through, was my coffee in the morning and passing the torch to the wine that I would have to the day. I know you're tired genie as a parent but the thing is, is that when people are tired, they're like, oh, my God the last thing I want to do is go to work but for you, you're like I'm tired I really WanNa go to work yeah. Because I just WANNA. Work without distractions like how many times a day do I have seen running in here and being like me and like L. And he wants to play and like. Hangman. And it's nice. I had review. On some level, but I really just want to focus for an eight. Hour Day Without a distraction and it's because it's really hard to switch gears feel like women are good at multitasking. But this is not one of those scenarios I wanNA parent when I need to parent and I wanna work when I need to work I can't do both at the same time. So. This whole thing about the schools being closed down like New York City like they try to never close the schools down, right? Yeah. So the fact that they did shut down and they shut down all around the country poses a really big challenge because. Not, everybody can set up for remote learning I mean not everybody has Internet. Some kids only get their meals if they're going to school so. It really has been a challenge on a lot of different levels. So you decided that you like all parents you're like, okay I need to talk to other parents and commiserate and think and see how other people are doing it. So you didn't gather a group of parents I guess virtually right? Yeah I did because there's been a slew of articles about the mental load that everybody is dealing with as parents because you're not meant to do both things at once like you can't parent and work full-time that's why childcare exists and none of this was meant to be a long term solution. But I do want to say before we start that even though we have all been affected by the pandemic, all of us participating in today's roundtable have been fortunate enough to still be working in some format. So we're all healthy and we're all grateful for that but we're barely hanging on by threat. So here we go. I want to welcome from Dallas Texas we have. dinty Cabanas. Hi. How are you? Thank you for having me. So glad you're here I have Joe Marvin Tura from Richmond California. For having me and I have to Haida Alencastro from Orlando Florida. Hey thank you. Teeny. Thanks for having me and just the disclaimer everyone knows to hide it and I have actually known each other for like twenty years. So no surprises there little bit. All right. So I just want to quickly go around the virtual room. And tell me about your kids what you do. This is our Sia I am in Dallas. As you said, I have two little girls wind will be ten in three weeks. The other one will be four in two weeks. And I for fulltime digital marketing manager for. Mary. Kay Corporate here in Dallas Great Jomar. Hi I'm Joanna and I'm in Richmond. That's you know the bay area and my little one is turning three months and I teach elementary school. So juggling the new definition of a teacher and first time parent has been very, very interesting adventure. Into Haida. I have two kids. My son is ten years old and my daughter is about to be eight and a few weeks and I am a systems engineer for Lockheed. Martin but I work from home. So I've been A. Since two thousand and five. Okay. So we're going to start from the beginning. I think I mean I don't know about the rest of you but I think we all were kind of like Oh. This is going to be a few weeks we can do this. No big deal, but walk me through personally what? Each of you guys had to go through and like what kind of plan you came up with to get by for the end of the school year. Well for us like all of you we've had to adjust we did not work from home originally We were released for spring break and never came back. We were told we were going to stay. And do you learning and so it was a shock I'm not gonNA live my husband and I freaked out a little bit. But then we had to pivot really quickly. Right what are we going to do? Do we have the right equipment to we have the right setup at the House Both of our kids are in the same school. So that was one good thing because it was need to everybody. So the school they know what they were doing. We know what we're doing the girls were like what's going on? So the ambiguity of it all was really challenging for all of us. But we just started getting a routine down our dining room became our command center. So I would say the first two weeks were horrible I'm not GonNa lie but I think we've all pivoted. Can and so I was pivoting at home I was pivoting at work. And even with myself like how am I going to take time for myself and you know lose it But I'm not allowed I'm sure I'm not a lot. Of. This

"Why would you like that? A. Reference to record I. Don't think it was a reference to their record I'm. I'M A. I'm a check right until autumn rb Fan and D-, do you ever feel bad when bright until the drawing music? You're supposed to sign him. On. His honey dip skin shut up my intern His name is neal shot to kneel actually manages him was trying to bring him to me but dill artists autism crazy. So continue to do get recipes Andre Herrero yes. Keep doing your thing Bryson I'll be checking. Tamar. and also lastly, Ti appeared on all Def digital arts in wraps and he got interviewed by two kids named Dylan Ends Araya and they didn't take it easy on him and they ask them some questions like this. Okay Okay, we'll see in a landfall way COM Hamilton ru times before I was doing what I'm doing right now I had to. I had to kind of fulfill my financial needs in the area of manufacturing and. Distribution of. Ego Pharmaceuticals. Let, don't even worry about it. Let's just say I had to keep my money my money in my pockets. NEAT. So what would you do if some kids ask you about your old pass? Beyond what you meant nothing makes you feel dumb than telling kids you used to sell drugs I of a crimes that you use to commit because explaining the old you the people especially kids it's it's. Dumb it makes you feel awkward and dumb because as you are explaining it your brain and heart start to compute to you how stoop yum it was says so it is actually the kind of stuff that brings you to tears in therapy. Sometimes, it's tears of sadness you know and sometimes it's tears of joy and it just makes you feel dumb you know when when when you're talking to kids about your past but I mean, that's why I write books. Okay. That's why I wrote. Black privilege opportunity comes those create it, and that's why I wrote shook one anxiety playing tricks on me because you perch get it all out. Good so-called good so-called bad. To so-called ugly and let people learn from net. But when I'm sitting down talking to kids, I, rather talk from the place where I am now in my life, the brother who and therapy to brother who has a purpose coaster brother who's faithful to his wife who has kids who has grown who has evolved because my understanding on myself in life is much better now than trying to explain from that perspective when I was indiscreet being a dumb ass knuckleheads and not even in the street to ten years ago. Yeah. Yeah I mean it's just a matter of telling him your experience. So hopefully, they learned from your your bad experiences in the same thing. And even with my kids just let them know the truth is I'm not proud of it but I want them to not be like Daddy demisch in. In God daddy's still here because of it but. Not. Even when you're talking about it from the perspective of being indiscreet like I said like even ten years going I'm talking about. How we used to be. I mean on radio whatever podcast you feel stupid like Dang it. You can't teach. You can't tell them that story because kids are very impressionable. So they think they can do that same bs you did whether it was from street a whether what you doing what you entertainment and they think it's GonNa work for them. It's not gonNA work that way for you because you not meet. S Right. Draft got my ass kicked quite a few times out here I. showed it. Absolutely. Me and Net Asia Rumor Report Mariah Carey's book is out right now. So if you order it on Amazon, you'll get it by the the second or third, which is Too so you can pick up. All right. Well, that is your room a report now who give Donka to. for after the hour USPS is getting donkey today we really need to have this conversation. This conversation is stemming from something that happened in Florida, but it's a teachable moment a logic conversation to be had because I think this is some foreshadowing. "In it I think we'll spreads. Why do people think Democrats are anti Second Amendment. Look the best Hunter and shooter in Congress is a guy named Vinny Times in a black guy from Mississippi and so I don't know why people assume that we're not for the second amendment but everything has limits you can't have a Bazooka Prey on a bazooka, but you can't, and so you can't have an M16. So at some point, weapons are weapons of mass destruction not the Second Amendment m think about this when they wrote the second. Amendment, there was no such thing as a Ar fifteen there was no such thing as a m sixteen. So the framers of the Constitution. We're not talking about guns that could cause that much carnage in such little time. So you know I don't know why but to have some reasonable. Gun reform like show closing the Charleston Loophole where this kid sat in that church and he said the people were so nice to him that he had second thoughts before he murdered them and you mean to tell me we can't just if your background check doesn't come back in seventy two hours, you have to have that gun. Well, let me just tell you something for. The, person who needs a gun immediately is the person shouldn't have a gun because something is wrong. If you want a gun, you cannot wait to get it and so Those are the types of things I think we just have to talk to the American people that is just common sense and so you know I don't know why Democrats get probably because we let them say you know if you let people. Say. Stuff over and over again, people start to believe it. It's why Mohammed Ali always said he was the greatest but ask him why who said but they had enough people will believe it. That's my. That's always my biggest issue with the Democrats instant messaging. You know that's why I thought the debates would have maybe you know Vice President Biden some good. But do you think people who viewed debate gained any clarity answers? Yeah I. DO I think they they game Samantha's around Kobe nineteen and has been confidence in the fact that still does not have a plan for how you open back up government. He has this make believe, and I don't want to buy a good mind when he jabbed him on the fact that he said drink disinfectant of bleach I mean he tried this president has no clue and how to handle the pandemic because he and his circle of friends they made about three, hundred, billion dollars during this pandemic, our circle of friends they're hurting. one of the biggest differences in the debate besides the fact that this president can't condemn white supremacy and he's going to rush through a Supreme Court tick. That is adverse to Roe v Wade but you know what? Questions all the supreme. Court picks do not answer Brown versus board of Education, and other issues Maranda all of those cases and most of the Games that we made a civil rights movement came from the Supreme Court. So that means the Supreme Court Kim Reversal and I don't trust this president and his private conversations are his agenda touch. This is my final question. How do you think the outcome of this debate helped or harmed Biden because even when I watch Cable News last night. CNN, they were saying like it's not like Biden was good. It's just that trump back a lot of people thought that. Vice President Biden would not be able to hold all that be able to stand up and I think he did that last night and he he did it well. But what I think that the biggest thing that comes out of the debate, his dad around the world they're probably looking at US and laughing at America just like they laughed at Donald. Trump and caught on tape the world leaders, and so are standing in the world is going in opposite direction, and that does not make us safer for a lot of people who may be in a position that they were in with Hillary and trump is not excited about either I think last night was a moment of clarity that one guy is just. Bad. Cramp crazy and other guy is genuinely concerned about their wellbeing and had they plan to get America moving back in the right direction. So I think it will lock in our sauce support and it will make others give a second look when I look at guys like you I, see the future when I look at Senator Harris I see the future I just don't see the future I didn't see the future on that stage I actually saw America I'm so title I will give you the visuals to older white men. However One of those white men pick a black woman to be his running mate, and one of those white men vowed very early on to make sure that he will put a black woman on the Supreme Court because that's the one is a segment of population has been holding us down for a long time, but to it's a segment of. The population that has never had a voice on the highest court in the land and I think that if you look at those commitments that speaks to who years along with the fact that he wants to have the most diverse cabinet in the history of America look is lift every voice agenda it is the most ambitious black agenda of any presidential candidate. In the history of America, if we get Joe Biden and send it a Harrison, the White House and you know the black agenda criminal justice reform from all of these things if they don't get done, you blame you congressman. Because you are the hood black whisperer in that White House we'd have to blame you don't cry now. Look I'll take that and if we get in and we can't a span funding the title, one schools create economic environment for black men and black businesses. If we can do more to protect look, it should be low hanging fruit that black people can live their lives without being shot or killed by the police that should not be asked a lot criminal justice reform making sure that it makes sense holding prosecutors accountable so that white kids don't get diversion at drug court and black kids get a plea bargain if we can accomplish those. Things look I will take charge. I'll take the league because I deserve it I am vouching for his vice president and I believe when we get in office where going to be able to accomplish those things to move the black community forward deliberately. Well, thank you for joining us. Congressman Cedric Richmond we appreciate you for checking in. Don't let this be the last time and we've got what thirty five days before the election got. We got thirty five days dot com on at Senator. Harris. Does her thing next Wednesday? So I know she's GonNa. Show up and show out and do a really good job at show America what she's made of and what black woman magic is. So you know we can do it right after that. All right sounds good. Check umbrella. Breakfast claw your mornings on never be the same. Warning everybody is DJ envy. Angela Yee. Charlemagne guy we are the breakfast club. Let's get to the room. Doing. You know you know why joe by you know why Joe Biden committed to doing something for us because we've been applying pressure, we were applying pressure about him picking a black woman running mate we're applying pressure about him having a black agenda. Thank you for calling a man. Vote for trump. Let's get him in WHO's doing it. This is a four hour show. Pres-. John Legend Chrissy Teigen. US. You know his family and Kevin in unequal and FM. Now. Also I don't know if you watch the show I really love shows cost storage wars. Do you ever watch that? No Well the a storage container that go how storage wars works is they pretty much auctioned off storage containers when people pay it so when people die or they don't have money and they don't pay a storage containers anymore they auctioned off and you never know what's inside. So one person purchased a storage container it had a it was Koby Bryant Memorabilia. So it was like thirty five pairs of shoes. It was jerseys it was lake is practice gazed. It was a lake is all axes badge that Mamba it was tax people work in more they believe it was probably Kobe Kobe, Bryant, storage containers. So the lady had bought it and found out that Vanessa Brian really wanted information really wanted the stuff that was in there. So the reps reached out to the person that purchased it and gave it back. So that was God bless all that stuff back. Yeah God. Bless her she gives back for free. They didn't say they said a number of personnel worn items and paperwork. So they were so directly back to the Brian Family sold interesting. I wonder I wonder if you was in that situation, would you sell the memorabilia back to the family or would you just give it back to the family? I'm not going to be honest with you type of person I am I would have given it to the family only because it douglas culturally feel it doesn't feel like it belongs to me Corollas due to the circumstances of of of Kobe's tragic passing I would have just giving it back to the family personally that's me. Yet, but the person who has it wouldn't sometime when you do these storage containers, you don't know how much a person has. So if you pay three thousand foot is container, you might not have the money you might invest it all in getting it back though. I'm not mad at the woman from what she did on a person woman a.

So Land prices are pretty high looking ahead to Richmond this weekend, it's race number two and Nascar Cup series playoffs haven't heard is their fans this weekend you know that's a good question ninety, eight, thousand I'm guessing no certainly not if there are it's going to be probably about the eight thousand range if they're lucky all right three quarter mile oval from above it looks like a d shaped. superspeedway, but it's not banking up to fourteen degrees. France stretch twelve, hundred, ninety feedback stretch eight, sixty stages look like this stage one eighty states to to thirty five, and then of course, the balance, the race four, hundred, laps, three, hundred miles, Martin Tricks Juniors won the last two races at the track remember no richmond race so far this season because Cova. Yeah. But still, Martin Church. Shooting Guy who have fought so hard and so long to get his first short-track win has all of a sudden emerged as a short. Track master. So that's somebody look out for for sure he's won the last few races this track which you said were both last year So he's Donna to race win streak. Let's see if he can keep going Kevin Harvick on the pole for this one using NASCAR's magical system that nobody understands even did you see this? Even Bob Pockets messed up? He was doing the formula for the xfinity series race right and left out the pole sitter Ross chastain so. That tells you how complicated and convoluted this formula is. Yeah. Bob Doesn't get it. He F- Bob Doesn't get it. We've got problems. We probably need to make it a little simpler because nobody's going to get it. Yeah. Bob Doesn't mess things up. "Getting some stats stats okay. As long as they're audio I, don't care I'm recording. We're good. All right. Clinton Boyer is there at number ten. Then you got to Eric Merola Kurt Busch and Kyle. Busch's. For those guys. Yeah. So all of this is I think could be. Of course. We couldn't possibly just go through the list. No, you gotTA. Have some sort of wisdom on every single driver. For our role I think he could be the dark horse of these playoffs. He's been very consistent. This year had that nine race stretch of top ten finishes the season and starts the playoffs off with another top ten. He wasn't very great most of the race. Kind of came on towards the end and gotta solid top ten I like that out of him and boy a guy who's kind of been very sporadic mentally on the track for the last few years got a solid top ten to start the playoffs. He's had speed this year. He's gained stage points all season long. The closing of the races that he's had a problem with. So top ten to start things off pretty good too. Okay. Then you've got the Bush brothers. Kyle still winless. You're GonNa just love that for the rest of the season I. Think hopefully. Hopefully. then. You Got Hendrick motorsports accrue here, Alex Bowman and William Byron all sporting cars that look like Jimmy's. Yeah. So that's pretty cool and They had great finishes with those paint schemes and the other guy who's running the same scheme should have had a pretty too but wasn't me but Yeah. Those those Jimmy Johnson paint schemes bright they were They've threw back to the old times for me. It looked like the the old days of Jimmy Eric Jones padding his resume. They're hoping for a job next year. Yeah. He's been pretty good at Darlington the last couple of years. Of course, he won the southern five hundred last year man had another good run on Sunday and like you said, we're. kind of waiting to see where the domino falls for him. But this this helps us case Joey, Logano, number three haven't seen him up here in a while I? Don't think yeah and he had a little bit of rear end damage in this race. It didn't look like he was gonna very good finish at all for a while and then towards. The end it was like well, there's llegado third. How do you get there but got another solid finish and he's the only penske who really walked out of walked out of Darlington with a decent finish. By the way, they could have made the track. You know just fine even with the minnow pond there I saw the the the thing i. One of the doing come on. So now we're GONNA. Go back in history to the forties or fifties and figure out why they still didn't plenty of room the way you think they should have made it plenty. I mean math wasn't different. Math. Now, it's still math I mean math is math. I mean it depends on who's crunching those numbers somebody might not be very good at that. Just move it all over why man all right Austin Dillon, gave it pretty much everything he had on that final APP but it wasn't enough because I mean obviously, it's Kevin. Harvick going to victory lane. It's either him or someone at this point and so harvey grabs his eighth win of the season. Let me say that again. Eighth Win of the season. Yeah. He's closing on uncharted territory here third career at Darlington second the season at that track remember they had the double header and the first to open up the twenty twenty Nascar playoffs moves into ninth on the all time wins list with fifty seven career wins passing Kyle Busch. Of course Kevin advances, to the next round automatically not like you wouldn't already with the you know million stage points and wins and everything. Right. That's a good point. Here's Kevin. It was a battle. It wasn't wasn't necessarily pretty but everybody on our busch. Beer. Ford Mustang team did a great job tonight keeping us into the Rodney had great strategy. Our car was extremely loose all night and you know we were able to manage to to get better but never never really got it going as good as we'd like to. But they battled and and. We kept herself in the right spot. The leaders got tangled up and we were position to to capitalize on that. So definitely, definitely want the fastest car but definitely you know put ourselves in a position to capitalize on a on a moment you know Kevin Harvick he won this thing, but he didn't have the the walk away best car on the field. So, what did he feel like and what did he see when the leaders wrecked in front of him? Yeah. I I didn't see anything timmy came on the radio and and told me that that the leaders had just wrecked and you know at that particular point that you know that the whole game changes just because of the fact that you know. Obviously I knew we were running third. So at that point, it was managing you know what I had behind me and and trying to make sure that I didn't make any big mistakes to to give up big chunks of time. So you know as as we went through the next couple. APPs obviously I could I could see the the nine and an Nineteen getting getting progressively closer to me as as we are making laps and the nineteen pitted there and when I pass the nine I saw that that he was all tore up. So it was definitely a strange cycle of of laps there over those four or five laps. Oh, you're ready for this crew chief all man excitement level is about to ratchet up. Rodney chilled IRS breaks down the four teams strategy. Joy Yeah I'm not real. Sure. You know we We decided that the best thing for us disappointed into two thirds and they decide to it into halves and. You know it seemed like the people that were trying to split into has ended up having a fit a little bit earlier, crash difficult tired. We're going away so bad and get down to cords and and unraveling. So you felt good about what we were doing. It was the best thing for us. We've been cording there a few times during the denied and felt like that we needed to the play it on the cautious side and and. kind of be aggressive at the same time. So that's why we decided to split into thirds notice how I had to. Come down to his level to match his you know intensity. Yeah and so people are going to think we're you know not fans of children's on what he does. He's an incredible crew chief but man, he is very even keeled. You could give him a championship trophy today and he'd still like that's great. I appreciate this trophy. Thank you day. There's. All right. I'll continue with Rodney chillers with so many wins and points and whatnot in his pocket. Yeah it's it's pointy too. With the points is it easier to be aggressive? Now that's not necessarily my goal is to be aggressive more or less just trying to do what's right for us. and. Z. Consistent and new the the vast McCann every week and like I said we.

"And be part. That's been more I opening for me that anything has been running. Operate the SIM rig. And all third party APPS that tie into it and relate The the data that exists. They're trying to understand how to calibrate things out to make things work correctly out even talking gain more to one of these third party apps where you can have a spotter crew chief helping you make good decisions like that. The blame the game is is certainly challenging on. Its own but I had no idea the rest of it that went into it. And that's that's really what rock my world week one and even into week two. It was just. It was literally five six days a week. Four to five hours a day just trying to figure it all out and get get everything. Set up a more than anything else Jimmy. I mean obviously wanted to go to all the race tracks and stuff but he really wanted this final season to be for his fans for me in my final year in a cup car like I I feel I feel more for the fans that wanted to see me at their track and experienced sat have it. I mean I I know where I am very content and fulfilled with the career. I've had ensure I want to be on track and sure I wanNA places a final time but the You know I I feel more for the fans. That aren't having that opportunity now than I than I longed for myself to experience it and to be there that makes any sense and you know and that's only a small piece in the grand scheme of things when you look at all the individuals that are affected by the current virus. The family could. It's affected your Konami. Businesses business owners. You know this. This is way bigger than than me way. Bigger than what would What what was GONNA be my my final time at these tracks? So that stuff hasn't really even cross my mind all these bring it up. There's been so many other issues at hand to think about be concerned with that I I haven't thought about about much at all being my final year. What I might be missing for myself. It's been more about others More about the fans and feeling you know what I see in my my social thread. You know I see people that are lifelong fans that That are sad. They don't get the seeming seemingly run So it's it's been about others for more than it's been about what what affect me personally. And what does Hendrick and other teams in the sport? wh- what are they able to do during the stay at home orders? There's really very little we can do. We can work on computers but Andrex been shut down for a while now There's been an agreement reached where teams aren't sending employees into work And not only from a team and ask her standpoint but obviously you know what the governor has said and with the amount of people that can gather and give them play so There's there's many reasons why not teams are working and moving forward In groups and what physically working on cars in the world of SIM In it's hard to regulate that I know that a lot of these ways we advance our cars and physically taking vehicles to wind tunnel and rigs and such Shake trigger eggs and seven post rates. That's also been banned so there's been a big effort made kind of free the sport In I know our team much like many other teams spending a lot of time on the phone trying to strategize. What to you next to wear to work? What's look at but we physically can't give go anywhere and do anything right now so I feel. We really are trees of so. It's interesting that last one. I mean the entire industry according to Jimmy Johnson has been frozen solid. That's it. They're not. They have an agreement not to do anything. It's amazing. Yeah I mean that's kind of what has to happen you've got. These teams have hundreds of employees. And when you have a stay at home order for non essential businesses this is not an essential business so regardless even if the teams wanted to circumvent things They would not be in the right in the situation so it is good to see everybody. Kind of airing on the side of caution In taking this thing very seriously I just think they could do a lot from home. I mean at least crunching numbers and wind tunnel virtual stuff and I guess they've all agreed not to do that. So interesting. Yeah I think it's the right call because you're already situation where some of the lower teams are getting hammered by this the stoppage. So they're going to really struggling when we get back. The guys they have deep pockets could get a huge leg up on things right now and I think the the best way to kind of prevent that from happening is doing what they're doing and I applaud everybody for kind of agreeing to to not try to get ahead of the thing before before we get back all right. There's been a pack show. The checkered flag is flying on this show. This has been the final AP weekly catches next week right here when we will recap the racing from Richmond Sands Dale Earnhardt Jr. for some reason and preview whatever's next because they don't want to tell us anything ahead of time so We'll have all the stories in between all EU virtual drivers out there. Mind your PS and QS. Toby.
