Philadelphia 76ers beat Wizards 107-98; Simmons leaves with knee injury

"Other wizards lost again to the Philadelphia seventy. SIXERS affiliate takes that one, one, seven, ninety, eight, also the big news from that game scholars. You know it's not that Philly won the game I anticipated that that would happen of the big news was that their star guard or I. Guess. Now, if their star power forward, Ben Simmons left the game in the third quarter with an injury to his left, knee. Yes. So they already got. GOT 'EM. Orion. A said, it was clear I. Don't understand this one because it doesn't like something happened, and when you come down and really you didn't get hit I, maybe got hit a couple possessions go and he finally felt at that point. That's a scary moment for Philadelphia because you know non contact injuries to the knee like I'm nothing he towards ACL I. Don't think he did that at all but I just I I do think that you know Know Ben Simmons had the injury with the back. He's come back. He's had this like a weird year. That's like, I think now I'm looking at the heat, I'm looking at the Pacers and the Philadelphia Seventy sixers don't that would be the team that I think like Boston or even I never going to go to Milwaukee and probably not gonNA go to Toronto. But Boston. Miami Indiana are probably trying to figure out a way to play the sixers. sixers. Get the win on. Wednesday night, but they have not looked great in the restart. So for Joel. EMBIID was the best player on the floor for the Phillips filled up seventy sixers. He finished that game with thirty points. Eleven rebounds, three assists, three steals two blocks, his usual stat sheet stuffing performance affiliate. But the big news as we mentioned is the injury to Ben Simmons A, you mentioned scale the initial return for PHILEAS. Good. But I? I agree they have to play a lot better. They have to look a lot better if they're going to have a chance to make some noise in the eastern conference playoffs, especially Scout Given that their first round playoff matchup is now looks like it's GonNa be one of these three teams, Boston Miami or Indiana

"Maybe not pizzas level or anything like that as far as breaking down the encore action that guy's. Ridiculous when it comes to break into I've got stories. I could tell you about him and the way he's broken down stuff but but I feel like I've gotten pretty good at that. It's very different to transferring that messages to players on the floor. I have coached a little bit of basketball but not nearly enough to where I could step into an NBA locker room and start tell start telling, Lebron? James. This is what you need to do in this situation they are going through stuff that has way more advanced than what I'm going through with you guys than the things we're talking about here. It's very different. So I appreciate the compliments but no, I'm not the Guy To step into the coaching staff or anything like that. Feeling back wise Krugman not getting the credit. He deserves. I think he is. I think a lot of people have come around on CAL Kusa. And I think we've seen some really good stuff out of him. We've talked a lot about him on this show how good he's been and you know what? I'm happy for him I. Really Am Lakers fans were not pleased with all season. We talked all about the KUZMA roller coaster he's up he's down. He's all over the place. You couldn't get a consistent performance out of him and so far at the very least on the defensive. I think we've seen consistency out of him at least when he's not defending Luca Danni. was ridiculous to begin with asking him to defend sick. But I thought cruise was done a nice job doing a nice job defending quite Leonard we've seen him make some strong plays on the defensive end of the floor and then the shooting has for the most part been there. So I hope he keeps it up but I think we've gotten a good sign of what cow coups McCain be for the Lakers once it all comes together and clicks and that's a really good player. Mike Sauce I like that shirt trevor. Thanks my wife. Got It for me for for Christmas one year. Think it was this year and Yeah. It's one of my favorites. Let's go one more. One more already talked about Mark Morris. Aw here we go. Jason Dams Quinn Cook Not Cooking Yeah Quinn Cook the Guy I was irrationally excited about in the off season I was hoping hoping hoping that his ability to shoot forty plus percent from three his ability to score out of the pick and roll with little pull up jumper, which is what NBA teams are taught to give up now is the pull up jumper out of the pick and roll and he's maximize that I thought he was going to be so useful on the offensive end that it was going to make up for any of. His defensive deficiencies but it hasn't happened hasn't happened for him this season and that's that's disappointing. He does have one million dollars guaranteed on his contract next year we don't know whether or not. He'll be back We did see him get a little bit of run in this game. I thought that he looked good in the first few bubble scrimmages. He looked good trying to capitalize on the opportunity of Rondo being out of what that provided, but you know what overall it just he hasn't been able to to mitigate his defensive issues. On enough with his offense production. I think that's what it all comes down to so. I still think it can be a useful player I. Just I don't know if it's going to be for these Lakers or not..

"And he didn't get it. Because the narrative wasn't spending his way. Narrative absolutely matters and if I'm looking at narrative I'm seeing a thirty, four, thirty, five year old the Brown James, who's turned in the season that he's turned in he absolutely deserves credit for an MVP caliber season. As far as rookie of the year. He's been tremendous and Zaylon missed a ton of games. No long-term. If you told me, hey, you can have one of these guys taking zone. He's got the high ceiling. That guy could be unstoppable. But in terms of rookie of the year ongoing jaw, I'm GonNa Drummer for sure. Somebody saying, we need to think about pulling any green a few minutes into games I think the vogels pretty committed to getting something out of Danny Green and it should be. Danny veteran player Danny Green was brought in specifically for this. For this environment for the playoffs. When the pressure's on, that's why they got Danny Green has he been great so far? No. But I think you gotTa keep the faith that at some point it's going to turn around for him. Do, you ask Anthony Davis to play more at center in order to be able to enhance the lineup? Yes. I. Do expect to see more Anthony Davis Center in the playoffs. I think so far during the regular season, we saw a lot of good play from the Lakers with a traditional center with Dwight Howard which avail in there. We did. But so far since the restart. That hasn't been the case having a traditional center has often been a hindrance for them especially on the defensive end, and perhaps that's also symptom of Avery Bradley. They haven't been nearly as quick to recover to three point shooters or recovered guards, and that's caused them to get lit up from behind the ARC by by quick point guards. So the way to counter that would be to play more Anthony Davis at the five. With some quicker players on the perimeter. So when you have to switch things when you have to close out and get to the three point line, you can do that a little bit easier than when you have a big lumbering guy like jailer like Dwight Howard out there. So I do expect to see more at the five especially in insert matchup. So they're playing the rockets who don't even run the center at all. Right like they're only true center Tyson Chandler. They start a six seven and under lineup you're probably not going to play those traditional centers very much. The Clippers go small quite a bit using mantras heroines is they're five. Against that squad I would also expect to see a lot of Anthony Davis at the center some teams like if they didn't play the Grizzlies Grizzlies bronner traditional center with iota, mounts Eunice. That's where you can play your jail. Your Dwight. Howard. A little bit more. Hey, it's matchup dependent but in general overall. Yeah I think we're GONNA. See more eighty at the five. Okay guys. We're going to do one more by the way I am going to be Hawk hopping on in about an hour layover I'm going to be hopping on Lakers talk with without sleep over at ESPN. So we're going to go back and forth a little bit at at eight fifteen. So make sure you guys check that out too. That's going to be a blast. I Love Allen's one of my favorite guys in industry. questionnaires is trevor. Why aren't you on the coaching staff? Look. I Have I've gotten over the years of covering the Lakers I feel like I've gotten fairly good at breaking down the action on the floor and figuring out what's working and what's not okay..

"If anybody is to jump up I would feel more comfortable playing the spurs than playing the Blazers. and. Again, that's not to say that they can't beat the blazers not scared of the blazers they can deal with that. But I think it's going to be a longer series than we would ideally want. Scott King said would Rajon Rondo start again once he gets clear well, he wasn't starting before. So I wouldn't expect him to start I. Don't think he's sliding into Casey piece spot or anything like that. I don't think Rondos. GonNa Start. When he comes back. Real heavyweight championship still Lakers vs clippers. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. Agree. Joseph Stroman says, so you're not going to mention the PELS. The PELICANS look the PELICANS would be a lot of fun. But I'm saying I am more 'cause. I'm more concerned about the blazers and the Pelicans, I'd be more worried about that squad. And again I think for good reason because the PELICANS getting their absolutely they're a good team there a young team. I would feel more comfortable playing a young team like the Pelicans though that a veteran team with a guy who can go nuclear like Damian Lillard, with the Blazers. That's where I'm at with that, and the only reason why skipped over the Pelicans is because I would rather see the spurs than the Pelicans and the spurs have been playing good. But I would rather see them than the pill Pelicans have a higher ceiling if they get it together, so I would rather play team like Spurs. That's all no disrespect for for the PELICANS or the Pele acres as I like to call because they've got so many young young former Lakers on that squad. Jabari Wilson. Do you think Lakers fans are overreacting to one loss? It's kind of what we do. This this is our thing is overreacting to losses overreacting to wins I try to stay on an even Keel as much as I can and to their credit a lot of people in here in the Chattanooga doing a good job as saying I'll it's just one game all these things they you know they they already locked up the one seed. This game doesn't matter all of that. More than I would have thought. Are doing that. But there are still a few people that are very concerned and again with how bad the Lakers load and how bad they looked against the raptors at I get why there's reason for concern not saying there's none. But I'm not ready to panic at this point. It's not where I'm at. quinter you gotta be says I'm rooting for the Pelicans Fair. Fair enough. Yeah. I'm fine with that with rooting for the Pelicans if you want to see them. Again, I would rather see them than the blazers. Take it's a better matchup. Ivan grow. Said you you think the Lakers really are trying I see I don't WanNa? Say not trying like they're giving up. I think there is not one hundred percent we saw like eighty percent tonight. I think that's what we saw. So Lakers team that. Wasn't that they weren't trying they just weren't incredibly sharp. They were incredibly motivated..

Orlando Magic's Jonathan Isaac explains why he didn't take knee or wear Black Lives Matter shirt Friday

"We had an incredible opening weekend of games name a star level player that player delivered at least once if not twice over the first three or four nights of the NBA's restart here in Orlando, we had crazy comeback wins. By the Houston Rockets, we had a dominant performance by. Jaanus over some little pesky pip squeak team from New England I forget who they might be. We got Marcus smart got fined for trying to work the officials. We've got storylines upon story lines. The clippers bounce back from their loss to the Lakers. Looking excellent and just throttling the New Orleans Pelicans. There's so many different directions that we can go Michael that I decided. Here's what we're GONNA do opening weekend heaters we're GONNA have just open ended questions are we're going to ping pong back and forth you give me your answers I'm going to give you my answers to these questions and try to cover as much ground as possible before we get there though I do want to double back quickly on the national anthem demonstrations that we touched on last episode, we got so many thoughtful emails from various members of the open floor globe on this subject, but I think there was a major development after we spoke on Friday. and. That involve Jonathan Isaac Meyers. Leonard Gregg Popovich Becky Hammon and one of the NBA referees all deciding to not kneel to not really participate in what had been in unified demonstration on Thursday. All of those people who chose to stand were obviously doing it on principle and they were doing it knowing there was going to be a lot of attention their direction. Now, if you look at Popovich amend the referee essentially, they were trying to just say, Hey, I support the the Social Justice Movement it's it's a private or personal decision for the referee said look I it's important to me to stand Meyers Leonard made a similar comment. Essentially. Saying that his brothers military service in the in the military service of close people in his life led him to WanNa stand to salute the flag. But within Isaac was a slightly different case and he actually used this entire demonstration opportunity to almost have a one man demonstration of his own. In his belief, the idea of the black lives matters movement quote unquote doesn't go hand in hand with supporting black lives. He also said that you know we shouldn't be necessarily judging things solely based on skin color that we should be trying to live a life basically you know in God's mold and try to live up to his standard, and that Jesus Christ was his personal savior and and that he wanted everyone to focus on that. Aspect of of living rather than the particular issue that was being brought forward with the black lives matter movement by the players he didn't really get any major pushback. Within the NBA Community people respected his right to make a stand. He actually not only did he stand during the national anthem? He didn't wear a black lives matter t shirt which many people notice because he was essentially the only player not to do that his whole personal story Michael took a crazy twist over the weekend and sad twist when he wound up tearing his ACL injury that's going to end his time here in Orlando obviously but also could cost him all of next season. So now talk about a whirlwind seventy, two hours for player who generated millions of us with his comments about the protests. I'm curious. Let's start with Jonathan Isaac. What did you make of his decision? After we've seen things settle in the last couple of days You know maybe it doesn't seem quite as Eye Opening as it did at that moment, but I'll admit I was I was surprised to see given the buy in from everybody on opening night. Right, I mean I just WanNa Start and say that it it really really is a bummer to see anyone get injured but particularly is ICK who was already on restriction he was already playing with a humongous brace on his leg from a previous injury that cost him a majority of this regular season before it was suspended. So I just I feel for him greatly. I I think generally speaking. The coverage of who stands in who sits I mean we talked about this heading in anticipated it I. Think I think the coverage is generally besides the point and it doesn't really get the point I feel like people are using. This as an opportunity to shame those who are standing in a little bit I mean Meyers Leonard. said, he couldn't sleep before he made the decision to stand and that's just like not. The whole focus or the point here right like. You can obviously Support Black lives and also stand for the national anthem. It is a symbolic gesture that is what it is in the case of Isaac. I really had a difficult time understanding even what his message was until you interpreted it the way that you did I mean I watched the clip of Him Multiple Times survey there I'm GonNa just GonNa read what he said I and then we can use that as a jumping off point because I don't WanNa torture what he said earlier and I might have done that. So sorry for that. He says quote absolutely I believe that black lives matter kneeling while wearing a black lives matter t shirt doesn't go hand in hand with supporting black lives. I. Don't think kneeling or putting on a T. shirt for me personally is the answer i. Feel like for me, black lives are supported through the Gospel. All lives are supported through the Gospel. We all have things that we do wrong. Sometimes, it gets into a place of pointing fingers. We all fall short of God's glory whoever will humble themselves and seek God and repent of their sins. We can see our mistakes and people's mistakes and evil in a different light. Racism isn't the only thing that flags our society, our nation and our world, and he basically said he wanted this conversation to get out of the realm of skin color because the answer to all of our problems in everything that goes on in our world is Jesus. So. when I watched the clip. I'll I'll be honest. I was a little confused where he was going to after typing it all out trying to marinate on what he was saying I think he essentially wanted to have a demonstration on behalf of his religious beliefs and that this was an opportunity for him to say look you know focusing only on one particular group I. Guess in his view, the black lives matter group and you know everybody wearing a t-shirt doesn't necessarily achieve the wider goal which would be presumably healthy living. You know honest living you know Living which to him as a higher priority I think that's where he was going with his statements.

"Here's a great comment. from Youtube people think people actually think that LBJ is going to play this passive when the playoffs start then you haven't seen him play. Maybe, they haven't. What Lebron last season we did not see playoff Lebron because the Lakers didn't make the playoffs. If you're a basketball fan, you've probably seen the Lakers. You've probably seen Lebron play. You've seen Lebron play in the playoffs. But. Still Different. You pay a little bit more attention. He's wearing that purple and gold. So. People who are concerned probably weren't paying a ton of attention when the season was waning. And it was over in the cavs new with their spot was or the heat with spot was they probably weren't paying too much attention to what the Brown was doing with like five games on the schedule four games left on the schedule nobody freaked out if Lebron was applying that well. But now now you're seeing him in a Lakers Jersey nursing them looked terrible. And you're going oh no. What if this is the broad? kind of what he does. This is essentially preseason mode. Lebron is not expecting to see this guy in a few games, and if you games I think we're GONNA see Playoff Lebron. Hopefully. He still has that top top top tier that he can take it too. But right now we're not seeing it and probably for good reason because again. The goal right now is health don't get hurt. I think that's what we're seeing I. think that's a great point. That people who Lakers fans who haven't seen. Lebron. In the last few games of the season when he was with another team maybe weren't paying attention to that stuff. Probably are bit surprised seeing what we're seeing of the Ron Right now in our in our worried. And maybe for good reason, they'd be worried after what we've seen. But again, this is kind of the way it goes. Tyler via block buys into my conspiracy theory he said `I, legit think they through the game tonight. Did they throw. What are you guys think? Did the Lakers throw this game to try to stop the Houston Rockets from getting in to that for four or five seed. Our No. I don't think. So I'd like to say no, but Vogel did have a comment and I'm paraphrasing but he had a common before before this all started. Where he talked about how even once the number one seat is locked up, they can kind of manipulate the standings a little bit. I took that to mean that okay. You know they're going to go all out against some teams where it'd be advantageous to knock that team down. But could it be that? Maybe they took their foot off the gas for a team that they wanted to see win. Possible I don't think so. But I suppose it's possible..

"The San Antonio Spurs lost by the Philadelphia Seventy sixers the seventy sixers took it one, thirty, two to one thirty Oscar down the stretch of that one Damore Rosen was tremendous Santa Tonio and it looked to me like the Spurs. We're going to win the game again for their third consecutive win in the Orlando bubble but then there was a key play late in the fourth quarter on Al Horford had the ball he looked to. The Post he looked like he was trying to post up embiid against San Antonio up to so any NBA posted a tied the game the John Day Mario, the defensive guard for San. Antonio over helped a little bit scale I thought he gets sucked into close to 'em. beat on Horford's ball fake or for kickback to shake Milton Milton hit a three that would ultimately win the game Philly also tremendous game philly a tremendous win for Phillies cal. I understand I understand that wasn't with the Lakers but you know what makes it difficult as well as so stu Lantz. At pointed out the fact that I think we've lost to the raptors like every game since twenty four. So the the thing about this game was just getting a w on the raptors to spend so long but I've been again as i. told you at the Lakers nation I don't think this is any reason to trip out or anything like that. Where none of these Games are most win they're still getting the legs unromantic anything like we were just saying To the coup or the bench was encouraging. You know when you look at Caruso and who's and waiters I mean that was They are the bench outscored the starter. NBA Restart: Which Teams Have the Advantage?

"Jackie is good to hear your. Voice. Meena, are you today you trust me on around worn. Almost stalker it. I'm almost over. It's okay. You beat me many times at this point. EILLY. You're the Lakers and suns. Jackie macmullan is a senior writer for ESPN and frequent around the horn panelists where she has earned two hundred and forty four wins compared to my own forty. She also happens to cover the NBA for nearly forty years. Speaking of the Lakers and suns, the NBA returns, tomorrow night, and amidst all of the craziness in major, League Baseball, the NBA, but seems to be mostly working, but the league is not without some coronavirus related drama. Thanks to one Lou Williams who's sanctioned trip outside of the NBA's clean site included an unsanctioned visit to a certain establishment. Can you explain for everyone? What happened? Well Lou, Williams left the bubble for a funeral for a very close family friend in Atlanta. And he has said many times. It's documented on social media that his favorite place to go eat the magic. Or another left to forgive me I'm not someone that goes interest clubs often or ever if I'm truthful although I did go once to the Butterfly Lounge against my will in Washington DC. But that's a whole nother story that we don't have time for. So. Lou will claims said he went there to have the wings which are named after him. There's some lemon pepper wings named after him and that he went there simply to eat and then he was on his way with his mass and so on and so forth. And Meena by the way I believe him I. Don't think he went to see your stripper. You probably was hungry. But my goodness. What was he doing there? What he did after the family gathering is the center of an NBA security discussion. A rapper who was at the club took pictures of him and tagged him in the photo used the poster child of what not to do. The sample out of what glue will be. It it it. BOGGLES my mind. You. Just clearly did not think this through.

The Life of Christina Rossetti

"On this episode of five minutes in Church history, let's talk about a poet. Christina Rosetti she was born in eighteen thirty, and she died in eighteen, ninety four. She was born into an Italian family in London. This was a very artistic family to her. Brothers were painters, and she was a poet. Her father was a poet, and he taught at King's College. He was a political exile from Italy and spent his final decades in London and in England and of course. Course Christina Rosetti would spend her entire life in England. And as she was turning twenty, she became engaged, but it was broken off when he converted to Roman Catholicism. She would remain single the rest of her life. Since the age of twelve, she wrote poetry that was eighteen, forty two. This was the era of Tennyson and Dickens and the Bronte's in Elizabeth Barrett Browning, this was the era of Victorian literature, and into that Pantheon is the poet, the Anglican poet Christina Rosetti. Her First Book of poetry was published in eighteen, forty seven. She was seventeen years old. It was published by her grandfather. Her first commercially published book of poetry was published the next year in eighteen, forty eight. It was later in eighteen, sixty, two that her book, the Goblin market and other poems was published. That was probably one of her most famous poems in the book that sort of put her on the map so to speak. She wants wrote. How beautiful are the arms which have embraced Christ the hands which have touched Christ? The is which have gazed upon Christ, the lips which have spoken of Christ. The feet which have followed Christ Christina Rosetti followed Christ as a poet. She loved to use Simi's in her poems. You know what a simile is a simile comparison using Laker as in her poem birthday. She uses a whole string of them. She says my heart is like a singing bird whose nest is in a watered shoot. My heart is like an apple tree, whose bows are bent with thickset fruit. My heart is like a rainbow shell that paddles and Halcion see. My heart is gladder then all these because my love is come to me, so she used the similarly in another poem eight better resurrection. She uses to similarities to talk about herself. She says my life is like a faded leaf. My harvest dwindled to a Husk. Truly my life is void and brief. And tedious and the Baron Dusk. My life is like a frozen thing, nobod-, nor greenest can I see yet rise it's Xiao the sap of spring oh Jesus Reisen me. She then follows. My Life is like a broken bowl, a broken bowl the cannot hold one drop of water for my soul or cordial and the searching cold. CAST in the fire, the parish thing melt and remold it till it be a Royal Cup for him, my King Oh Jesus drink of me well, she wrote many poems. She wrote to Christmas carols. She wrote books of non fiction. And in eighteen ninety two. She wrote a commentary on the book of revelation. That same year. She had surgery for cancer. And two years later in eighteen, ninety four, she died in London. Well. Let's go back to that poem in here it again. Some NBA players sit out the season

"Okay, Let's talk about the MBA there beginning this week in Orlando in Florida, which is a co vivid nightmare at this point. Some players air sitting it out, or they just saying I'm not going to play because I'm afraid of getting covered. Yes, Some players were sitting out because of family members that are at risk. Some players were just sitting out because they're not going to do it. You got key members of Seems like the Clippers, you know mantra. Is Harold sitting out Patrick Beverley sitting it out. You know, these are key elements of members of a lot of teams are saying, Hey, I need to Protect my family and protect myself and that's responsible. But then you've got other members of the Clippers like Lou Williams, who actually went back to Atlanta for a funeral. And then was photographed at a strip club with a rapper. He posed the rap, proposed it to his instagram, and then he quickly deleted it. And then he came out and said, Hey, that was an old picture of me and Lou Williams. I love him so much. I want to do it. But in the picture Lou Williams was wearing an N B a sanctioned mask. You know the way people were Matt five years ago that the MBA sanctioned know that he got busted in this thing. So now the Williamses basically quarantined for 10 days. He can't play in the first couple of games back. He just can't play in the 1st 2 games, one of them against the Lakers. So it affects the team and what the N B A is saying, you know, they had a squeaky clean record. They just recently tested everyone and had zero positive tests inside the bubble, But some players have to leave the bubble stars Ion Williamson, who's the big stars Big rookie star from the New Orleans Pelicans. He had to leave for a family emergency. A health emergency if you and they ask for permission to leave, if you ask for permission to leave than you have Ah, four day quarantine when you come back into the bubble and you get tested, But if you leave and you violate the rules, it's a 10 day quarantine and this is going to affect games. As we move forward as we're trying to set up, you know the best possible scenario where the teams are playing at full strength. This is going to affect

UTA Cuts Salaries Across Company to Avoid Layoffs

"And. Naturally UTA, and the entertainment industry was hugely affected starting this past march when many productions and live performances came to a screeching halt Jeremy's been in the business for more than forty years, and even though he's never seen anything like this, he's optimistic about his company and the future of the industry. Take us back to March. When did you realize that that this was going to have a huge impact on on your business? Well I, you know I, don't know that in March I under I could understand or grasp the full impact that it was gonNA. Happen I I. Certainly remember you know it was I. was supposed to go to a Laker game as sort of debating psycho, she not going in the news came out about Rudy Gobert and then suddenly the game was canceled and boom, and that was the first sign of wow. They cancelled basketball games like that seems really a big thing. The season was canceled shortly thereafter and then boom. It was it was hard to comprehend in the beginning. Yeah UTA like other talent agencies has been affected by this You have had to have furloughs and pay cuts. You're not taking a salary. Talk me through a little bit about how this has affected UTA. Well so far it's affected us because Y- you know I bowl everybody in the company participated in a salary reduction of some form or another, that was a really difficult thing to ask everybody to join in the sacrifice, but you know what we realized is the overall financial health of the company. Sustaining the company for the duration is going to be more of more positive and ultimately important thing for people than trying. Trying to maintain everybody's salary at that current level in the short term, so that was a difficult sacrifice. We chose to make some furloughs. We took advantage of the fact that governments were supporting people who have been furloughed so so far we've been trying to keep going. Keep everybody's spirits up and and trying to figure out ways to be creative and thoughtful and of service to the clients when we can't just. Just make a deal and send him off to go to a movie or book. "Will they lost an exhibition game last night in Orlando, But the postgame conversation was all about Social justice in the late Briana Taylor, LeBron James cut to the chase early in the postgame locker room. We want the cops arrested who committed that crime. Taylor died when undercover police in Louisville, Kentucky, stormed into the wrong residents in the middle of the night and began firing their weapons when Taylor's boyfriend thought burglars had broken into their home, and he fired his gun, which was legally licensed. James calling the Taylor case heartbreaking. I want her family to know and I want the state of Kentucky to no way feel forward and we want justice. "As somebody saying look me okay. who were the Lakers play in the second round? So I've taught my head rate now. I'M GONNA. Look it up here just to make sure I'm right, but as of right now the Lakers i. believe played there. Okay, see. UTAH. Right Yep. So right now, the four or five is okay. See and Utah, but it's really really close. The rockets could very easily get in that mix. Personally I would rather see. Utah or okay see rather than the rockets. Yeah does look at the standings I would much rather see. The rockets stay at six because that forces the rockets onto the clippers side of the bracket. I do not want to see the rockets in the Lakers bracket I think that team. They're weird. They're weird enough in running no center to where they can throw you out of what you're trying to do, and if they get hot, that can become tough to deal with now I think the Lakers are pretty well equipped to deal with it because you can run, Anthony Davis and still protect the rim a little bit, but ultimately that's not the matchup that I would want. I would more hope that the rockets have to go through the clippers and the clippers after go through the rockets. I'm going to see those teams. The rockets are probably the team that I'm worrying about the most I would. I would feel pretty comfortable going up against the jazz going up against the thunder. The nuggets seem pretty locked into that third seed, so I don't think they're moving there and I think they could give. The clippers are real run for their money but I wouldn't put it past the rockets to beat the nuggets. And if the rockets Dan six, so that's going to be a big thing I remember watching not only been watching. WHO'S GONNA wind up in the eight seed with that with the Grizzlies, the Blazers, the Kings, the Pelicans all those teams competing to get the eighth seed. I'm also going to be keeping an eye on what the rockets do. Because I don't want to see him and I think that the Lakers would handle them. But again. They're weird enough to make me a little bit uneasy about it. If that makes sense. All right guys. We're going to a few more. I know I had a few other topics I was going to get into tonight.

"That's that's the approach and the Lakers have become very very player I and so this falls right in line with that. But Anyway for for Dwight, Howard I. Think All signs pointed Dwight, Howard being there. But let's understand that Dwight's dealing with a lot right. I mean not only do you have the social justice issues that that he's that he's fighting with right. But you also have his his son. His son's mother passed away I mean. Tragedy. And so to leave a young child like that that just lost one parent. To leave and say hey. No No Dad Dwight Howard is going to go and be gone for potentially months. Then that's tough to do to a kid. Right I mean think about that. That's that's a very very difficult situation to put a child into to lose not only one parent, but then the other one is going to be gone for months at a time and I. Can only sympathise right with what's with what he's dealing with, and that situation and fully understand. That's why we've heard. Dwight is still in Atlanta. He hasn't traveled to La us. Distancing himself in Atlanta and you know what there was an instagram post announcing the arrival of Jair Smith and Dwight responded to that he said yes. Sir Right from the from the Lakers account. All the signs point to Dwight being there, but he's not there yet. And the Lakers are still working over working through those things with him. I think he will be there, but if he's not if he's not what we heard. Is Frank Vogel saying that they're not going to try to bump up Anthony Davis minutes at the five, which seems like it would be than natural reaction. Okay, no, no, Dwight, well. You know what we were hearing from from last summer. The Best Lakers team is going to include Anthony Davis at the five Ad. Playing Center will be there death lineup. You're going to have Coosa you're going to have you're going to have Lebron and then two other guys, whoever it is whether it's you know Avery Bradley Dana Green Caruso. Who Whoever? It's going to be KCPT. It was going to be eighty five, and then as the season's gone on, the Lakers have found more and more success with the traditional five would jail in there with Dwight Howard in there now against some teams that won't be possible when the clippers go small. You've gotta go small match. The rockets don't even bother having a center on the roster. They just get all the wings. Luke Imbaba is joining their team now and they picked up David new album for next year. Achilles injury. So look some teams. You're not gonNA be able to do it against, but. Frame Vogel is saying we're going to stick with what's worked and we are going to continue playing. A center alongside Anthony Davis. so, how are you GonNa? Pull that off. If there's only one bale, McGee and we know you probably get the most out of jail. If you only playing about twenty minutes or so, how are you going to run the rest of the time? I mean obviously eighty is going to have a little bit. But. He threw out Vogel throughout. Devante Haycock. WHO's not huge, but he's a high energy guy. I motor guy I'd like him a lot. There's a big difference when the G. League and the NBA playoffs. Okay again I like cake lot, but I think that's a big jump to make, and that worries me a little bit I throw it Markeith. Moore's but look murky. Moore's is a veteran. I think he could handle it. He's not going to give you the rim protection that you want. Though so if it's Markeith Morrison a D..

"He said he's plenty of time to arrest so but of course the clippers planned to resume town, and that he was going to be the fresh guy going into the playoffs. Sorry Clippers. Everybody is going to be fresh at this point. But I think that I don't think it is wrong I don't think the health thing is the reason why the Lakers are going to have an advantage in Orlando. I think it's a couple of things that rump Lincoln touched upon, and that's the age of the team. Kinda veteran mentality. I think that's going to matter. You're in a weird of stranger in a strange land. Okay, you are taking this team. Full of players that are used to playing in La and the Lakers are good, wrote road, team and everything, but you're going and playing on the road in an empty arena in a weird environment where people wearing masks. This is uncharted territory. Who's going to do best here? It's probably the guys who are used to adjusting to different things that have. Have played for different teams for years right that played for different teams experience different things. Guys like veterans like like Danny, green, like Jared Dudley Avery Bradley. Unfortunately, it won't be there, but continuous pope right. There's a number of players Dwight. Howard, hopefully he's going to be there. We'll talk about him in bed. Javale, McGee, all of these guys have had multiple stops along the way in the NBA even Rajon, Rondo. You guys know my favorite. I think they're going to handle that transition better than some other guys. Will some younger teams some teams that have been through the fire? No, no the Lakers as a unit haven't been tested in that way in the playoffs. This group hasn't been together as a playoff squad. It's not like. The Ninety Ninety seven through ninety nine Lakers where you had shacking Kobe together and some pieces in there, but they can never quite get over the hump, and they just kept battling and battling battling suddenly in two thousand, they broke through. That's not what this Lakers team has has been through together, but individually they've. These guys have been through wars. They've been through difficult times, and so I think that does give them a bit of a leg up over some younger teams over some teams who have been through some of the things that the guys on this Lakers team have I think they're going to adapt better to a very difficult environment, and then I want to throw out the chemistry thing. I talked about it all the time. We've heard about this infamous group text that the Lakers have where they've been texting each other over the break. They're great friends on and off the floor. I think that's GonNa. Matter Guys I. Really do think that is going to matter when it comes time to restart the NBA season when it's time to to get chemistry back when it's time to get rhythm and timing, and all of that kind of stuff back having that relationship built in I, think stops you from having to start from scratch. Like. Reality is a lot of these teams are going all the way back today one just about. They haven't picked up a basketball together in four months. Four but that's an entire season. Plus for some teams if you make a finals run..

"That could really help aid that transition into this intense playoff environment. Maybe making me worry about about J.. About Casey, P Yeah, because you're right like if if he's not ready and we see the Casey P, we saw the first four or five games of the season where he was literally. Lay ups. Yes, there could be problems, but We'll be the case because hopefully the liberty sending a little bit. Later. Casey fee will. Air made like the fresh prince and. Just took things over from there ha somebody asking me the clippers side joking no thoughts. Whatever? Joking knows. Nine years ago. He's just he's just an extra big to throw at the Lakers. The Lakers are finding a way to dominate inside the warm vertigo small, but he's he's thirty three. Yeah, I think it's. Lavar but he's he's the kind of that you just they've got him. In case, something happens to it beats his. You bought mantras. Harrow, because either one of them. They don't have a backup. They don't have any other real big to you can ask mantras heralded. Go play forty eight minutes when you zoom takes on that fifteen to twenty minutes a night, so he's a break glass in case of emergency big. He's a few extra files. If they WANNA throw him in there I don't think he's a major factor or anything like that. He's just kind of just there. Just in case for them I, had a question came in earlier. I've got actually a lot of people asking to We'll finish with this this previous question, but people asking who is it that the tested positive on the Lakers and the Lakers are not made public we don't know. and that's because it's. It's medical information. Right like this isn't like a sprained ankle, so if the players don't want you to know than they've ever right to keep that private you don't want a situation like like what's going on with Ezekiel Elliott right where he didn't want that information out there and somehow I got out whether it was an agent or whatever happened. It got out and he wasn't happy about that. That that's you don't want that and so so we don't know, but people are throwing out there like we should know which players are now immune because this is going to really benefit them, guys have not ready to go there. We don't know dat first of all. We don't know one hundred percent for sure I'm not a doctor, but from what I understand There's no guarantee that they can't get it again. But there's also no idea what the long term effects are going to be what you know. Who knows exactly how this is going to go for them so I'm not looking at it as a positive thing as much as I would like it to be because it's. On my fantasy team, so it'd be nice if he suddenly immune and he's GonNa play all what seventeen years sixteen games per team that'd be that'd be great, but we don't really know. The Lakers can like honestly just couldn't keep her mouth shut. Every rumor got out there. Just tweets and I heard this. I heard that my brother told my aunt this. Now the Lakers aren't like that anymore. Everything is super profitable. It's so great change. Somebody's not I can't. I can't even remember his name, but it just. Isn't it amazing that once you keep things private? This is benefiting the Lakers in so many ways that people don't understand. The stars always are paying attention to how the other stars are being treated within your organization when Ezekiel Elliott comes out and tells you. Why in God screeners?.

Okay, so this is spread quite a bit and the first thing I want to know is that Jj Redick says my. My assumption not that he's heard. They're working out there that he's assuming they're working out at that particular location now first of all, does that exist? Yes, hundred percent eight exists there is a guy named Steven Jackson and he does have a home in biller that has a replica staple center, floor, full-court, bells, and whistles. All of that NBA teams have been known to work out there the sun-sentinel how to story from years ago on the Miami Heat practicing their right teams. Go there. They use it it. It's available. It's known as location so. Jay rettig and you're thinking. Where could the Lakers be going? That's probably the first place. They'll pop up in your mind if you know you know. Hey, training centers are closed. The training facilities not not acceptable, so it would make a lot of sense and we've also heard that Lebron. James and Anthony. Davis have been scouring the area for places for the guys. Guys to work out, and so if you if you are Lebron, if you're a D and you're looking for a place to get the Lakers or workout in that would probably be the place to go, so that makes a lot of sense now. Are they keeping things secret? Keep it off social media. Yeah, that would also probably make a Lotta sense to do. But is it a full team workout well first of all, Bill? Simmons said all the Lakers no one hundred percent, not true one hundred percent. Why am I so confident? That goes Dwight. Howard is not there and he's not the older one, but we. He's the one we know. He's been in Atlanta. That's where he was was doing his social distancing. Himself Isolating Dwight. Howard has not been in La, so he's clearly not so it's not all of the Lakers. It's not truly a full team practice, and the other thing that I wanNA question is. Is, it just hey. The Lakers have been working out there. And suddenly that rumor of your played, the telephone game turns into all the Lakers at the same time. Work out because that's what Simmons is kind of insinuating here or implying here, is that all of the Lakers were working out at the same time, which would be in violation of NBA rules. Isn't it also possible that Lebron was able to get the guys into? Into this gym and they have one or two guys. Come in at a time. Sanitize the place when those guys leave, and then more guys come it like that's also possible, and you would still be able to start that rumor that hey. The Lakers have been practicing 'cause that wouldn't necessarily be untrue, but they could have been following social distancing guidelines and still getting in. That's still that's still plausible but is it also possible that the entire teams been going in there and working out sure and if you're if you're the Lakers new looking for the motive? This team needs all the all the edge. They can get right. They've already lost homecourt advantage that exist anymore. That's gone as soon as you go to. Orlando and everybody's playing on the same courts. There is no homecourt advantage out the window. They worked so hard for that all season, the number one seed in the western conference and it's gone. Just think about a potential match up with the clippers you would. Would have had essentially seven home games for the Lakers. Yeah, there would have been a dozen or so clippers fans in the crowd, but that would be about it right. It will be seven home games for the Lakers now instead you get to play in an empty arena with no fans. That's going to be Irian quiet and all of that it's Leonard. Dream right. That's the situation that you're now in. And there are some people who say Oh homecourt doesn't matter. If you good team should win, no matter what homecourt does matter unless you're the Sacramento Kings in its game, seven homecourt absolutely matters so the Lakers have already lost something so would it makes sense for them to be looking for some other kind of edge to give back that advantage possibly possibly right if they've been getting work in and other. Other teams have not and they're able to keep their chemistry. They're able to keep the momentum that they had four months ago. Almost then, yeah, look at that might make sense to as a as a plausible thing that the Lakers could do. There've been pictures of Lebron. James going at open run workouts. Ben Simmons is there as well. Alex Caruso has been been playing in gyms and things so. Look if they pulled it off. Okay, we'll see what happens. Hopefully it allows the Lakers to keep their chemistry as they head towards the NBA playoffs coming up on July thirtieth. Let me know your thoughts. Guys have the secret workouts. Really been taking place fired off the comments down below. Don't forget to follow Lakers. Nation.

"This is news to me about. Maybe wanting to go after Dwight and yet stay away from join mccower. They're not yeah. That's not going to happen. Because this Lakers team Dwight, said early in the season I've never even been with a group of guys. Let's this screen. They legitimately like each other. We are great in the locker room. which he's probably seen. He's been around the league. There's been other locker rooms that have great chemistry, but these guys legitimately when they go to the movies we're all going to. To the movies we go bowling. We're all going. That's something that's different and something that other teams don't do. We see how much turmoil we saw Lebron Kyri. Those guys were not going to the movies together and the fact that he's seeing this I first hand. This is what keeps those role players around for for a long time. We saw when the we saw them the documentaries in the Jordan docs. Scottie! Pippen really didn't feel like him and Jordan were really really getting along in an appreciated everybody on this Lakers seemed probably feels appreciated. They seem like they really love each other. And when you see like a cow coups, murder Dwight Howard Bill McGee going off the best player on the team Lebron James is sitting in the corner. Cheering them on like he's some role player. It's something that really no other team gives you so I'm not too worried about those guys leaving unless we essentially let him go. Yeah. I Agree I. think that we've heard time and time again about this. This infamous text threat right this infamous group text that the Lakers have that all the players have where multiple players are talking all about all the different funny things. They're sending to each other all day every day. Even when they're not on the court, because they genuinely like each other I think that might make a bigger difference than than we're giving credit to like if you team where the guys aren't that close and they've been away for each other for three four months. It's going to have a bigger impact than this Lakers team who's in constant communication with each other and considers themselves like a like a family. I think we might see that dynamic. Really pay dividends here when the League restarts. Yeah, we're seeing a lot of people. Talk about boogie cousins boogie bogies..

"I mean pretty good teams, but like we said those teams should take a step back in a lot of those good teams or young Denver's Pretty Young Utah again pretty young. Donovan Mitchell Young Guy and he's the guy leading their team. So if the Lakers can really feel how early in this little this little exhibition that they've got going on if it goes pretty poorly, and it gets close I'm expecting the Lakers really play full board and make sure they lock up that one seat, but. That's really nice that they're playing a week schedule towards the end because it allows them to really ease themselves in and I I like that I just WanNa. Make sure this team is healthy and that they're in shape as long as they're in shape, the Lakers are going to be the best team on the floor, basically at all times until the Western Conference finals in the NBA Finals. It's going to be closely match at that point, but early on the playoffs. It's just GONNA be about how it's going to be out about endurance, so the schedule is actually very beneficial to this Lakers team. I really don't have issue with that. I think that it's going to give them some nice tests. Early Miley question here is a Chris. You can weigh in on this to how soon do you moose down on the gas pedal if you're the Lakers, do you come out playing Lebron and ad? Twenty minutes, or do you go full? Bore from the get-go saying. We're trying to get everything back and get ready for the playoffs. What do you? What do you do there? How do you balance that? I mean I think you need to use these games for kind of what they are they're. A tune-up for the play offs right. I don't think. I don't think you can throw the Brandon ad out. Their full bore from the very get go I. Think you've gotTa like ease the all these guys in and kind of. Just be mindful of that, but I think it's going to be a very fast transition in seeing is that? We only have about few games I think they would probably have to. Start them out. You know, start out not too much, but then as it gets closer to the playoffs, start ramping it up real quick and giving them more and more minutes and bat way. You know we're ready for the plan. I mean even with the these games under their belt I don't think like most of these teams aren't going to be really ready for the playoffs. It'd probably going to be still really kind of playing themselves back in the shape that we maybe do the first couple rounds so but I do expect by the time we get to the the meat and potatoes of the playoffs I. think Everybody's going to be on a hopefully full stride at that point. How many how many games are they playing? So take games and everybody seasons eight. Games right. I believe so yeah, so I'm expected to basically go preseason mode for the for a lot of those tough games, and they played Houston not expecting Lebron go out and play thirty five minutes..

"That's exactly Chris when I look at the schedule. I look who the Lakers are playing, and we'll go over the exact schedule a minute, but I see Houston, and I see Denver I go. Those are going to be tough games. But are they? Nobody knows what these teams are going to look like we. We've got a comment here from Youtube. Saying we'll Lebron load manage those games. Possibly he's probably not coming back to a full, and you can probably say the same for James Harden for Russell Westbrook, for some of these other top notch stars right so when you look at teams and you look at the schedule. A tough team may not really be a tough team in rice environment like this is chartered waters. Waters, yeah no I totally get that and we saw the Lakers dominate early season and said. What does it matter if they're good right away? Who cares will now's another opportunity. You need to be good right away. You need to be good early season. The Lakers have shown that they can get off to a fast start. They didn't come out lethargic this year. They came out ready to go. So will we see that again? I would expect to cease much of the same and then. Then of course they already know who's going to beware. Who's going to be scoring the ball? They know somewhat of the roles, but the Lakers have a track record for for dominating early in the season with a lack of preparation so I'm fully expecting Lebron James to really take his time and make sure that he's ready, so I'm not too worried about the Lakers. It's the other teams, the some other good teams in the League. Are they going to be ready? Some of them are. Are Young so I don't know how the prepare, so if I was the if I'm a Lakers fan and I'm pretty close to it at this point. I'm not as worried as some of these other guys, so do you guys feel like the Lakers are out of every team and I got ask this on a on a radio show earlier today. Do you feel like the Lakers are going to be the most prepared out of the teams out there because they are the veterans squad. Maybe I mean I. It's it's difficult because. I just with Lebron having this much time off I. Don't know what to expect specifically from him. I don't know if you need time, or how much time he needs the ramp up again. I mean Gary brings up a good point. They came out in the beginning of the season looking great. It's not like they were sluggish at all, but they really look like Lebron was starting to hit full cylinder towards the end of the. The season, and he was just looking like the best version of himself. So you know, I think they won't be prepared at least more so than other teams but I I still kind of I. Don't know what to expect them. I was almost thinking to myself as we were talking to on about how they started the season. I remember they had the road training camp. Do you remember that they set it up in Vegas? It'd be. It'd be kind of Nice..

"The Lakers, let's say, the Lakers wind up picking the Houston Rockets right as a team that they're going to go up against they pick them as in the third round or something, and now the rockets. No the Lakers want to play them and feel like they can beat them, and they're gonNA. Feel slighted by that. That and so you're GonNa get an energized rockets team to go up against, and not saying the Lakers couldn't handle them, because they certainly could. But what happens if James Harden is is angry and he goes off for sixty points, which is certainly within the realm of possibility, or say you get the blazers and Damian Lillard erupts like he did for that. What nine ten eleven game stretch earlier in the season? Next thing you know you're on the outside of the group looking in again. I liked the idea on the surface. It's exciting in general for the NBA. It would be a cool idea, but for the Lakers. No, you want things to stay as they are. You want them to keep every advantage possible, and here's the thing the have already lost something. The Lakers the bucks they have already lost court. Advantage of all the teams are housed in Orlando Home Court. Advantage is gone. It's gone. Gone and we've already seen weird things happen happening in the German Bundesliga because they're playing in front of no fans, and there is no real homecourt advantage anymore so with that being the case with no homecourt advantage. I don't WanNa see the Lakers lose anything else I. DON'T WANNA see any other increase in the probability of an upset more than what we already see just by losing homecourt advantage, so that's. That's why this is a terrible idea for your Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA as a whole i. get the appeal, but for the Lakers. This would definitely be bad. News wouldn't be the end of the world would still be some exciting basketball. They can still prevail, but in general I am against this idea for any of the top teams, and especially for your Los. Angeles Lakers because that's the team we. We care about all right guys. Let me know. Your thoughts fired off in the comments down below. "Some of these guys force our way out. I mean you wouldn't. You wouldn't have expected that. Anthony Davis would have been a Laker when he became a Laker a lot of. Of Times, it takes agent. The agents really have to flex their muscles signing with clutch sports. We didn't expect all that, so in terms of the NBA thing is almost theater sometimes, so these guys can control their destiny more than ever before and buddy healed. I'm sure he here's the Lakers rumors just as much as we all do, and if he's here in the rumors, Damian Lillard is hearing what Stephen as saying about him, becoming a Laker, and of course, the Blazers wouldn't want to send Damian Lillard or body heal. They wouldn't want to send him over here, but if they demand that they want. The Lakers are going to be a hot spot to be at because you're going to be competing now, and then you also could have some shine after Lebron leaves so it's going to be very attractive spot to be and hopefully for our sake. That buddy healed finds a way. Yeah, I'd like to see it happen. People mentioning Zach Levine in players. That's another great one. Yeah, we! We'd love to see again. Getting any of these kind of qualifies star players that are younger that can take that next step with the Lakers. I think that would be a huge huge win, but that's that's going to be up to rub. Rub Leg to figure out this summer, but I think he'd be a great fit. To move on to our next topic? Though what did talk a little bit about the comeback efforts because we know Aj boys, he reported today that Clay Bennett the owner of the Oklahoma. City thunder who was instrumental in getting team out of Seattle. Nice some few underhanded things went on there, but got the got the team out of Seattle brought the Bill Casey. He gave his big speech apparently according to watch trying to get owners to vote for all thirty teams to come back, saying that it's going to be damaging to the small markets if you don't bring everybody back and if you're only going to bring back two teams than the smaller markets, t the you know their cities are going to forget about. About them while they're not around, and so you need to do some sort of a summer league or something like that for those teams for them to keep a foothold in the market, so yeah, where we added as point guys. What do what do you guys think like? Do you try to bring everybody back when you do well, this is hard because. It's unfortunate. They're the ones that are gonna be losing the money. They make their money from the fans showing up the Lakers really don't the bad big TV deals. They have all types of a lot of other exactly they have all types of other avenues to make this type of money and for us on the outside looking in. It's not our money, so it's very easy to say where we don't want to watch anyways, and it's also not worth the risk for the players. They're not going to be playing games that matter so for us. It's very simple to just say okay. Cancel their season because they don't matter but for these owners that agreed to buy some of these smaller market teams. Teams and okay see in a lot of these other small markets. They need the fans to be there for X. amount of games, or they need that extra TV money those extra few games to go through, because they don't have another source of income, they want to figure out a way to best come through this, so I can't necessarily say what they should do..
