"Touch down in the last eleven Porter they had gone the previous ten without allowing a touchdown that's the defense I'm speaking of teams longer streak actually twelve quarters during the regular up to mid season when the what twelve quarters the judge got a touchdown remember in a playoff game but that wasn't on intercepted pass Harry Carson taking one in a one Miami struck for the touchdown with only forty five seconds left in the first quarter that was the first time the Niners defense argued with a touchdown in eleven forty five now that office of course are threatening to do it once again in the second quarter well I'd be a little inclined here to think the forty Niners would back off and trying to pin down there for man rush rather than blitz anybody like they did that last time gamble work in their favor Joe roses come in he would be a guy would watch in this a tight end number eighty he's a very effective guide despite having only caught twelve balls this year no Marino knowing that the outside guys going to be under pressure let's see read something early that rose could be the man had Joe roses ready now lining up on the right side is a tight end going wide over there news won't do for calling signals once again is Dan Marino from a shotgun formation he throws over the right corner to there was a case of the ball was back to the receiver at the last moment pulling up those arms and then the knocking that ball of away that's exactly what he did he played it as a as a defensive man in basketball he did not they started playing says they can't keep me out of the end zone Ronnie played his eyes and threw his hands up excellent and here they have to go for a field goal attempt now do it because often kicking and don stock holdings from the twenty one of thirty one yard drive for three points for Miami in the closing fifteen seconds behalf putting falls flat ninety three eighteen and the now by fifteen as it is good a thirty one yard field goal on the part of davon shaman the first time Miami has been able to get any points in their last for possession so the Niners will get a kick off here the clothes and twelve seconds all of this the first half of play hi head twenty eight to thirteen they're right there a big boost for the Niners defense in keeping the office of the ends on there has to be frustrating as badly as they are in need of points yes but it also shows you the striking power Miami because with less than two minutes they started their fifteen yard.

"We get the, knock on the. Door So people would just be imagine up that's just my cousin It's just like a? Little did. They know David, Baker is such a mountainous man oh yeah, he's a, big. Truly as big as like Jonathan Ogden. Huge his son Sam Played ball at USC, and. Was draft in the NFL think he plays for the falcons, still so he is just a mountainous man little, did they know that his, knock is like a Stanton homerun you could tell the? Sound when. It hits the, door little did they know, that his nobody's, knocking David, Baker Because they also tell him to not for for the, the camera that's going to shoot it that's funny A surprise Nobody's going to knock on the. Door. Now okay I me too is that even yeah we're TJ shown a shot of Cecilia no standing on an. Apple box that might be the famed NFL network Adam Schefter apple box that, he used to interviewing David Baker, the other night. And he's still not as tall eight inches. Shorter Yeah for Andrew but that's just also goes to show you to that. Even Railleuse nervous about the knock on the door Marshall Faulk yes sure fire, I Don hall of famers that, could possibly be You know his friends and family. Of, folks through, a at scheduled a party for the day of the announcement and he was so nervous that that party. Was going. To, be. Held. And for whatever reason it wasn't going to happen And again it's an. Arbitrary, process it, is an, arbitrary process that you cannot figure out I mean is Harry Carson back here he usually does maybe, I can look them up on this list that great handy dandy list. Here Harry Carson is back here again Harry Carson Went thirteen years he was. Nominated thirteen, times it he didn't. Get the call from the hall so many times that. If you, recall key told the selectors? Take me off. The ballot don't include me anymore I don't want to be included anymore I don't. Want to even go through this. Any more Take me off. The don't consider me he told them. Which is I guess one step one would think above Don't. Give select my. Coming right just don't. Include me is, what he, said this electors didn't hear that from him They still kept selecting him and not. Select the kept him nominating him yeah To the year when he was selected in two thousand and six and incredible class with Aikman and incredible class with the John, Madden that Irv didn't make first ballot because of whatever reason he wasn't selected maybe the off the field stuff that don't lose that intensity stuff and it killed Michael Irvin that he. Could not go in with Aikman and had an opportunity that was denied him but he got in the next year and you heard how he speaks about how it means to be in the hall of. Fame the year that Harry Carson finally did get that call. From Joe Horrigan it went. To voicemail because he went to Hawaii that,.

"No and king or your wife did yeah we were sitting around trying to think of a name. For like about three weeks after I signed with NBC and every name somebody. Hated we've thought of two hundred names and one day and. King says hey isn't the Sunday night In called football night in America why don't you call your, column, football morning in America And I said. To myself Sam flood is going to like that name We're going to get some agreement on that one right. There I think king deserves a little cut of the KYW due, to I think she gets a little cut All right the topic. Right now in the NFL was what Oh look out We got a spill and I'll six-year. Bill the, topic I, mean I guess unfortunately is Terrel Owens or. Levy on Bill let me start. With, Sarah head Do we know what his gripe is I assume I mean look I I'm assuming that it's the I got into my third year and the way I look at that basically is. That two thirds of the three hundred and some odd people who were? In. The pro football hall of fame got in after? Their first year of eligibility does? That, make Harry Carson and Ron Yeary and Lynn Swann and, Fran tarkenton does that make them less hall of, fame deserving does that make their bus. Different no it's just the silliest controversy in hall of. Fame history, but it's, a controversy so we must address it but. Also this is what he wants I mean Yeah if he went there and, just said thank, you ungrateful and it's great to. Join these these fellow hall. Of famers You know there's there's no I was out in, Tahoe last week that golf tournament. Aaron Rodgers out there but was out, having a drink with a bunch of older guys like people of? Peter king's, generation and one of them said to me does he have any idea. How for the, rest of his life I mean, he's going to be able to make money off the hall of fame now if he this is, the hall of fame is he going. To be able to make money off the hall of fame and this was a this. Was a, very well respected person and so you know the? Hall? Of fame sort. Of shuffles, business hall of famers ways I mean are they, going to do that with Tarallo wins now I don't know it's I that's, not the. Biggest reason or the biggest anything but it just strikes? Me, that he's cutting off his nose despite, his face but, whatever should he have been a. First ballot hall of Famer I mean I've supported him all along I didn't think it was some, grave injustice because I do think there were some things against him Nobody. Wants to hear this but he was a third of a teammate that's all there is to it And he dropped the ball a lot particularly later in his career. I in my. Opinion though without any question he deserves to be in the pro football hall of fame I, supported him I'm glad he's in and I could? Care less whether he's in canton or not in Kim, do we view Randy moss differently than we do. And I think we do because Randy moss. To me I look at Randy moss is a singular, player I don't look at Tarallo Enzi singular player I think Randy. Moss was such an incredible, deep thread so incredibly great stretching the field and dominating games with his speed And his hands deep downfield. He had great hands I I mean I. Look at Randy moss is being fifteen percent better player, whatever the number save and tear allowance also he's grown up yeah Yeah he has Randy moss who's really has yeah yeah he's shirt. And now Tara loans wants to still make a comeback in the CFL I read I just read that this morning on my way up here in teaches own if he wants to do it I will say, this few years, ago when, I. Was running the QB we had CFL week and I went up to two games in the NFL and I met like three. Or four, coaches had long conversation John health, Nagel remember him yeah he was a either a coach or, GM of the stampede IRS state Penn State. Guy anyway as the. Former giants quarterback coach. But anyway they all all these coaches say all these guys come up from. The US and they say..

"Is pitching to a battery you usually walk because he's afraid to throw something over the plate you don't go up to the plate looking the walk that's counterproductive to the whole game of baseball and listen i i get your point go ahead i think it's a good point i think his i think he actually described a pretty well into the idea of analytics i think the the point of the creation of analytics as they should be applied really is the way of identifying players and identifying the value of players in a way that's different than it's been done in the past but but as he points out i think you step over the line when you allow analytics to determine how you actually play the game between the lines once once once the game starts i think in helping the evaluation of players but maybe not in the approach that you actually take to play in the game i i understand the difference i think there's i think there's some merit to that damian joins us you're on ninety four wip damian great show thank you thank you so i want to touch real pick on the thing you try get to my point about sports when he always top three typically wide receiver of all time top new arguably and you have guys like more of an aaronson that are getting put out ballots at the same as him or if before him then i kind of disconnected for me because even though the hall of fame everybody's in once you're in your hands you kinda wanna have levels like warren's taylor should never be on the same level at someone like a jj watt will you get was drained but let's jj watt still playing let's say harry carson a teammate time to get an also do you wanna have you wanna have a different you know you have different platforms plateaus for that just so just so they know even in the hall of fame not everybody is equally skills this is the bill simmons theory that the hall of fame should have floors in the higher up you go in the hall of fame on the or the player and you know what gio should go like you know i'm a i'm a big fan he was my hold on rageous shook his head and i heard things rattling around.

"The shelf you know what man is it is flying off the shelf the thing i'm happy about is picking up more traction is we give is titled behind a mass and the greatest thing i thought idea with was come up with the create creativity of just getting other hall of fame linebackers in the book sharing their story of how did they become great some of the guys who have in the book harry carson mike single terry bobby bail willingly near took pick maher i'm a historian of the game so i feel like if you're going to talk about anybody if you are you gonna talk about greatness you gotta go back and search the history in order to know where you want to go with it and it turned out great project at the images in the book i took all the images and also wrote it is way also want to encourage everybody is a source of inspiration a source of motivation and it's a great book if i say so much i like it then it is cool and by the way the website right is you wanna give everybody the website the website is behind the man asked book dotcom under masked book dotcom behind the massive book dotcom that said you look at this weekend's game and you see anybody out there is a future michael kendrick's he can play a little bit anybody out there that you know i mean it it's not this game's being talked about in terms of quarterbacks not in terms of linebackers now is not an are truly think this where a lot of people going wrong because i think that's the rpf's when you look at it more than anything but i take this this game is really going to come down to defensive coordinator jim wars going up against arsenic from the new england patriots because if you look at how the philadelphia eagles ended the year defensively they were lax gave up the most points they deity entire year from the parents two from the last two games but when they came back into the playoff situation understanding that you know what they came to grips knowing that we're not going to have our quarterback so we have to play up to our standards to hit give us a chance to be a to win games they are they are dominating and this is.

"Conversation before four one four seven nine nine one six twenty the accunet mortgage talk and text line hearing is from nfl players guys that have done that job have lived through the ramifications of taking hit after he had after hits they're saying do not play tackle football until you get the high school uh harry carson gun play for new york giants he said he would now let his grandson play and so it was fourteen these are players that add significant careers the nfl had been advocates for their other players and are saying to people i don't think you should let your kid playing i know one of the things have happened with sports and it's part of that phenomenon with with really kid sports anyway there's this development all these leaks outside of their school right the the the club teams there you know the select teams and football is one of those four one four seven nine nine once executive mortgage talk in texas line it's a big deal the end when you think about the weight of aaa legendary in this case hall of fame players sanger's that i would let my kids play or my grandson in the case of harry carson that carries a lotta weights and i know and i've talked to a lot of parents who have kids that are playing in in in sports and football and youth football was which has exploded in in our area tremendously and i note highschool coach islamic as it gets kids on the path the plane really competitive highly skilled high school football it's why we're seeing the rise in the in a really the the rebirth of high school football and the state it's a tough one for parents of the figure out in effort moms tommy i'm not gonna let my like it play tackle football at all including weather in high school i mean that's how far we've gone dan from sleeping on wtmj i i've got a couple of comments on that whole thing uh my profession as outflow training and i feel i adult law with beef was cussin' and one of the points that i think is just of exuding the fact that we shouldn't feel all we can tackle football is yes they're not healing as far as they will later on in life quote you're looking at a point in their life when they're so young and their brains are so susceptible with the injury antle final part of development.

"Seemed to indicate one of the issues with brain trauma and football is simply a matter of exposure the more you get head over a longer period of time the higher the risk of serious lasting and consequential damage to your brain so the more you can reduce exposure the where he can reduce risk there are plenty of examples by the way of great fl players who did not start playing football until they were in high school so i think the argument of i don't start each six it's too late doesn't really apply football is not tennis you're not trying to groove your groundstrokes and the other thing i think that that's important note here and why you don't see the football industry really getting behind this the way they could and probably should because if you say no tackle until fourteen someone's gonna think to themselves well what so different about a sixteen year olds brand and why is high school football okay and now you've opened a big can of worms and a can of worms that i for one would very much like to see opened this news conference that i spoke about included harry carson who used to play in the nfl and who has acknowledged that he has some cte related issues he feels already and nick unaccounte who is a former nfl guy in a hall of famer in they're both on board for this so we're not alone patrick time for your story this is something that gave urban they got last week following a testy game between they los angeles clippers and houston rockets a group of four houston players are raiding party if you well.

"Com slash patrick i'd some phone calls here on our poll question uh give the poll results there make levin uh would you be in favour of a rule to prohibit tackle football before the age of fourteen sixty percent would be in favour of such rule and this is just a topic right now but some former players including harry carson hall of fame linebacker for the giants as brought this up and i don't know if there is a movement afoot but uh it feels like there could be a little more momentum with this yes mclennan it's kind of scary this idea that it's not the concussion that caused ct but the look discounts and hits i mean that means any player any player in the pros you know we think of the big hit guys yogi in trouble but just bang bang bang bang bang bang metal paolo said young now he didn't know how many in fact he said when i'm done playing than i'll tell you about it but he said he'd get like fifty two hundred stingers a year micheal in south dakota hey mike what do you have for me this hour hey deke thank you um so i'm a i'm a physician assistant i've known her office radio with two cussin' uh almost uh several a day and leave it q cares and care setting and returned to play stuff and thinking bad magically the age of fourteen is somehow quote unquote safe start getting hit in the head so medically unfounded it it's it's just made up at some this has to be made up by some pr firm thinking this makes football they've they can medicine would like to do things for reasons because science tells us that thing.
