"Scott. Urged joining us. In the news breaking world in. The weight on his shoulders got. Doubled. Couple of weeks ago or a week ago and rap hard got suspended for a trim the bushes the tree will stand taller add on Instagram Ladies and gentlemen from the NFL network Mr Tom. Sorry. Yup smart good idea. Keep it locked up and. For those that couldn't see he zipped his mouth shut their to move in which I'm assuming told to do. But Hey, we appreciate you Tom Quick question about that situation though is there anything that rappaport would have got that have happened in the last seven days that maybe he didn't get a chance that he was sitting at home watching dislike scratching itching maybe sweat entire thing like the left bell deal with the chiefs I just thought of rappaport sitting at home pacing back and forth that he wasn't allowed to tweet about anything. Well you know what happened with the lady on bell deal. Now, it was down. So, this is the first time that I can remember since probably like two thousand eight in which a big piece of news like that broke and dislike. What do I do with it? So we had it. If you have the NFL APP on your phone, we had that pop up we're just didn't like this. You know the underground there. You know where there is no way to actually put out the news which was very bizarre to me. I mean refreshing different websites and things seen if anybody added, it was impossible to tell but no to answer your question. The little guy at. With Respect that by the way, I love your answer Andrew Confidence Let's talk about the news that broke this morning. It is officially to at time in Miami for the dolphins thereby week was originally scheduled for week eleven and they had a little bit of an easier schedule after that by week moves up. Now here we are in week seven or whatever was the plan all along to have him start after the bye week. So he could get two weeks prep in is the thought judicious that's the way it's been all along since drafting him if he check some boxes or how do you think they came to this decision? Why asked that exact question into somebody down there who was familiar with the decision making process and the answer I got was it's just time in other words. No matter what the record was. The fact that they had one a couple of games in a row they're still in the sick of the AFC east race only game back of Buffalo Brian Florez has shown that with him and his. Regime. You expect the unexpected the it's not just going to be results driven. It's going to be about the process the culture what he thinks is going to be the best thing for the team I. Mean You don't draft the quarterback in the top ten like the dolphins did with to a and expect to not play them. You Know Brian, fitzpatrick brings some juice to your team is no question. It's amazing that he's still doing the things that he is at this stage in his career. But this offense is something that they knew was going to be or they felt was going to be perfect for too I remember having conversations with coaches and scouts for other teams. But where would fit and one of the things I kept hearing? Was You when Chan Gailey style offense that's going to be? Perfect for him because he's going to be able to see field going to be in the shotgun get the ball out. That's what he is. Really good at once he was able to show that physically he was all the way back which they felt very confident. He was going to be there even after coming off of that major surgery that he had last fall once he was able to. Show that physically he was all the way back, the mental part of it and the leadership, and all those things were never really in question I. Mean it would be interesting if it's a really know for certain.

What he's got what he had a staff where he wasn't coaching yet. His staff. Created A staff of of of of guys who? Watch certain games. and. Formations and all this and I'm like. You got to get out of the house. Bill Bill Checks Down in Florida he done Alabama. So he's in tune with the college kids don't. He's in tune to the new formations. He's getting ahead of the generation, the Mike Tomlin's he's down in Florida Alabama Texas USC. Ohio state he getting into these with these offense coordinator is doing you know what these defensive coordinator during college, How these kids acting in college what are they doing all season in college you gotta get into you just can't sit in the house and and try to figure out what's going on in the world. You really gotta go out in the world. And see and actually adjusted some things that you know and try to implement them into what you're doing. So that's why these. Old. With Lamar. Jackson, you know he flew in a couple of. Overseas, from 'cause, it's going to be like how would you use the mark? Jackson you know what? I'm saying invest why these guys are so successful because they'll justin I think coach Mike and they got a good resume but right now I think his game is just to Chris stored up saying just all the way back in the day and the game have cast them up I mean look at he had you know Aaron Rodgers which they did beat us in the super bowl but you had Aaron Rodgers and you had. To. Get you know as a head coach you only get one. One Super Bowl these guys how many coast say coast codes to hall of fame quarterbacks I'm talking about real good quarterbacks. "I reserved judgment. Bills and Josh Alan after the Times game. I said, Look. Yeah, it didn't go well. But One prime time game. We're not going to label him Kirk cousins. Just yet. They had another opportunity against the Chiefs to be on a prime time stage and be able to show That they are truly this dark horse Super Bowl team that so many people are making him out to be. And After last night. I don't. I think it's safe to say they're just not ready. The Buffalo Bills. They're just not ready to take that step up. They were dominated by Kansas City last night. Do not let the scoreboard fool you. And I know Josh Allen had a nice drive there to get the bills closer. Chief's nearly fumbled it away, and the bills could add a golden opportunity there. But if you're Josh Alan, and you're supposed to be this M v P candidate You're supposed to be right up there with Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. You got to show up earlier than five minutes left in the game. You got to be better, and he was completely save for a couple of throws ineffective. With the football. Yeah, he was able to get out, run and get a couple of first downs and Get positive yards, but I was not impressed at all. With Josh Down safer, maybe the throw to Stefan Diggs earlier in the game. I mean, Josh Allen's inaccuracy with the football and also the lack of town, a tackling He has got to be disturbing if you're Bill's fame, I mean, it's one thing for the bills to not be able to tackle Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry. Is You know, 6 Ft. 3, £247 and runs like it get's out. Okay? Nobody's tackling that. With Clyde Edwards. The layer is 5 ft. Eight on his tippy toes. He's 5, ft. Eight. He's 5 ft. Seven in the chief's media guide is kind to him. He's barely over £200 and the bills kind of bring him down to save their lives yesterday. How can you not tackle Clyde Edwards aware I get he's shifty. You know if he dodged some guys Then, okay? Good. Numerous bills had opportunities to bring that guy down. That guy didn't just break through a hole in line all game long and run for 10 yards. He broke some tackles to get there. And the Bills come bring him down. And look, I'm not selling. My bill's stock. I thought my bills stock was a longer term play. I picked the Patriots to win their division this year. I like what the bills. Have laid as a foundation. I like the strides that Josh Allen has made. At the beginning of the season and What he did at the beginning. The season is going to work against a lot of teams on their schedule. I think that the bills could make the playoffs. Absolutely. They can We're back to back weeks. You've gone up against.

Bill Barnwell on NFL Undefeated Teams + Monday Preview

"Bill Barnwell. It is late Sunday night almost midnight, which means it's time for you to make me smarter about the NFL. I'm going to try my best Baba Bill. Barnwell is a senior writer for ESPN host of the Bill Barnwell show and he's procrastinating his deadline to talk to me. So we just watched the saints and the packers on Sunday night football and the saints lost without. Their Star Receiver Michael Thomas. But that did not stop us from getting a whole bunch of touchdowns drew brees and Aaron Rodgers. Each threw for three a piece. But in the end, the packers won the saints lost and they've now lost New Orleans says back to back games for the first time since two thousand, seventeen bill I know you are writing a new piece about drew brees coming off of the two year deal that drew brees signed in the offseason and what we've now seen from him through these first three weeks what did you see in Sunday night's games he regressing improving? What do we have with bruise right now? Okay. So public drew brees definitely improving this is a better performance from him. Me brees was downright bad on Monday night in week two against the raiders before we got to garbage time and breeze didn't do deep very frequently until this game was out of hand but I think the concerns i. have read or have heard about arm strength or how deep is passes typically go they don't really get how reason this offense actually worked. Breezes sort of like. A singles hitter in baseball like Tony Gwynn lagging time where a post player with no range in basketball he's not going to suddenly start throwing deeply. He's Patrick Mahomes at forty one years old breeze has succeeded. Over the last three years while throwing the shortest paths in the League because he's posted the three best single season completion. In NFL history. Now. The good news for the Saints Good News For Saints Fans is that brees was much more accurate on Sunday night it was twenty, nine, thirty, six for two, hundred, eighty, eight yards a lot of that West Alvin Kamara who did a lot of the work but still going to end up thirty six is still better than where brees was. The bad news was just about everything else. The Saints Lost Starters Jared Cook and Andres P to injuries while devante. Adams List Aaron Rodgers threw for two hundred, eighty, three yards and those three touchdowns you mentioned. The saints focused on adding veterans with nicknames Emmanuel Sanders and balcony. Jenkins this off season. But. Sanders hasn't been able to stand out with ankle Thomas Injured and Jenkins has been picked apart in pass coverage including Mercedes Lewis touchdown on Sunday night the attorney for more accurate breeze that was a bright spot. But if the saints continue to struggle with injuries and get disappointing play from their stars, the Orleans is going to need this version of free stick around to have a chance to compete in the NFC. So the packers emerged three no, and that's where a lot of focus the rest of our conversation here on the teams that are now undefeated through three weeks of the NFL season. So bill, let's push deeper into the NFC here because the Chicago Bears Be Chicago bears are somehow three you know and they do it by beating the Falcons thirty to twenty six Chicago was trailing by sixteen head coach. Matt Nagy Decides to pull quarterback Mitch Trubisky in favor of the veteran nick foles mister big bleep nick himself who goes on to throw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. So I have a two part question for you now. Why are the Falcons physically incapable of holding onto a fourth quarter lead and? Secondly, where does this leave the whole quarterback situation in Chicago? Let me answer the second part of that question I. The bears are going to flail by the seat of their pants for the rest of the season I would assume that nick foles is going to start until he struggles and the bears trailing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter a couple weeks from now, I would point Mitch Trubisky will come in and lead them to victory and the cycle will start the new. Unfortunately I don't have one simple takeaway for our poor friends and Atlantic. Is Different From what we saw in week to as. Much. As the defense was disappointing in this game, the offense really deserves a fair chunk of the blame for what happened scored a touchdown on the opening drive third quarter, and then basically tried to sit on their lead, Matt Ryan and company REPA- total three first downs on their next six is before the bears took the lead back and the only scored one field goal over that time after bisky intercession back running back Brian L. dropped an easy third down conversion which would have put the Falcons and field goal range. Then on the next drive kicker, young coup miss a forty eight yard field goal attempt. I know. I mean let's be fair. The Falcons defense was very bad. I'm not sure the Falcons are gonNA make any drastic changes on Monday morning, but Arthur blank can feel great about seeing this happen. On his seventy eighth birthday and. I believe I'm not mistaken not the only person celebrating birthday on Sunday. Having Birthday Pamela. Day Pablo. Yeah this is a hard way to discover that you share a birthday with the owner of the Atlanta Falcons Bill, which feels like you just cast a pox upon my house.

To trade for an inside linebacker because Devon Bush doors ACL, which is terrible teasing pieces. Devon Bush. The recovery Rehab is going to be a pain in the ass but Mike. Tomlin said I can't see past lunch right now. So Mike Tomlin is very much like bill belichick the way he handles press conferences same exact ways bill different but same narrative he's not given the media damn thing ever in I. Love It. He never gets talked about in the fashion though of other incredibly successful coaches Mike Tomlin's that dude in every time he gives an answer that is just a non-answer at all I. Aaron Rodgers vs. Drew Brees: Two QBs chase second Super Bowl ring

"NFL tonight. What a match up to future First Ballot Hall of Fame quarterback So the Green Bay Packers traveled to New Orleans to take on New Orleans Saints. And so it's Rodgers versus braised breeze versus Roger NHS. And to the first two weeks, Boy, Rogers has played lights out nearly perfect. Drew Brees has not. What does it portend for tonight's matchup? I think they're definitely is that element of just getting everybody same page everybody in sync and conflict with the guys that we have with the system that we have and everything that we're going to get back on track. We're up. I knew we were in a different place starting this year than last year, even though we don't have the offseason programming. You know, Today's and training camp was different. I really felt better. But my field in the offense and kind of what we on paper and soft about doing a lot of stuff has played itself out in the first two weeks. That's two quarterbacks breeze and Rogers. I don't think Breeze is going to be able to catch up with Aaron Rodgers tonight. If this turns into a track meet. I don't think the Saints could keep up now.

Shannon Sharpe reacts to Lakers GM 3 loss to Nuggets in Western Conference Finals

"III LOVES SIGHT THAT LOSS. From the Lakers and how about we break it down right now guys Lebron. What is third triple-double this postseason, but it wasn't enough against the nuggets. Last Night Denver led by twenty as late as the fourth quarter Lebron Ford in thirteen points in a last-ditch comeback at. Albury, finished with a team I twenty, eight, ten of which came in the fourth defend off Lebron the Lakers and hold on for the one fourteen to one. Oh, six Windsor Shannon. What is the biggest reason? The Lakers lost this one. They came out they came out and look like a team was to oh, and they just thought you know we don't come on here and do what we do and and not play hard and you could tell early on the nuggets were getting whatever they want. They drive laid up in the paint they you'll get to his dominant hand his right hand. Kiva phenomenal player. He's GonNa make shot skip that shot that he hit with the clock winding down on the right foot. I note most guys right handed shoot that shot Dirk Nowitzki made famous what he shot off his left leg I've never seen right hand guy shoot that shot up the up the wrong foot. I mean, 'cause we shoes tonight expected to go in everybody that's a bad shot clock winding up I expected to go in but I did not expect the Lakers to look this flat. We've haven't seen them even even against a Portland skip the first game even against the rockets the first game they didn't look this flat they I'm like broad do realize the western conference finals. you mentioned it a D. Two rebounds and they came in the last five minutes of the Game Hey deeply forty-three minutes. Avail one rebound white one rebuilt. If you tell me skill that the nuggets will out rebounded again by nineteen. If you tell me, they're going to turn the ball over the Lakers. I'm going to say the nuggets going to win the series, but I don't believe that I believe Lebron ad will play better I. Believe Lebron will be more aggressive because I thought the second the second in the third quarter. Eighty go it and it seemed like Lebron was designed to say you know what you gotta go hey, we're gonNA keep going. But skipped ahead, given up so much ground they had dug themselves. So much of a whole maybe if they don't allow get a eighteen twenty, maybe ten twelve now they can complete the comeback but I thought the Lakers played like a team that was looked. Like they didn't have they had a away game and if through this game away but what are the process what you've done if that you giving these guys confidence because now they think they can beat you they do they feel like Murray for sure thinks he can be yes and he's talking like He. SHOULD BE UP TWO GAMES TO ONE IS I've seen story before the thing is with this guy when he gets hot and. Those lash those last second shot because I saw him in game seven you remember the clock out of both have and he throwing up three's from twenty five from thirty feet and he switching. So he has confidence in their gaining companies but the problem that also has get, you can't have every guy that played for the nuggets with the exception of to a temp equal to or more free throws they Lebron James that tells. Me He's not getting he's not driving the ball. He's not aggressive enough or they're not calling it. So for me, that was the different. They just lacked intensity. They came out like a team that was too low and had the game to throw away I. Expect I know for certain and I'm going I, don't care I. don't care what the line he'll. I won't do on it right now you do I won't do right now.

The Browns are trying a new approach heading into the 2020 season: Being quiet

"Let's start here in Cleveland atom I heard Baker Mayfield say last week last year was total and complete chaos. They had so much noise around the organization. Now it's like a church mouse. It's totally quiet. WHAT'S THE MANTRA? What's going on there with this approach? Well the circus that was in Cleveland left and has gone to Tampa Bay in the interim. Basically, you've got a new general manager Andrew Berry new head coach, and Kevin Stefanski and the noise that accompanied this team last year has quite a quite a bit I think people are more interested in seeing Ben Rothlisberger return in Pittsburgh. The return of the NFL's raining MVP Lamar Jackson in Baltimore even the number one overall pick Joe borrowing, Cincinnati that browns are. The least sexy story in the AFC north this season and so they're flying under the radar, which is a good thing for this team. They don't need anymore engine. Let them win before we anoint the Cleveland Browns and contender and I think that they're very encouraged by what they've seen so far from their team this summer

"Very good. Very good. Are you one of those where there's smoke? There's fire type guys you. Yeah. Usually. Yes, I am. A usually there's something like nothing ever. Just like comes crops up out of the blue and people start reporting things there's always a little bit of there's always a little bit of smoke. There's always something going on, and it may not be entirely true. And it may get fabricated a bit, and it may get blown out of proportion. But it usually comes from a place where there is some tension, or there is something going on, you know, where I'm going with this. Yes, I do Rogers the Packers. And this Bleacher report story about all kinds of dysfunction and Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers not getting along and mccarthyite to come out and say, I wasn't missing meeting. So I could be getting a massage. Now Aaron Rogers says that this is all some giants smear attack. What about it? Is there enough smoke to make you think that there's some legitimacy to this stuff? Well, I I mean, I is aside. Right. No. I think there's I think there's certainly tension between Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy, I think anytime, you're you're coaching. You know, a superstar. Anytime you're coaching guy. That's got an opinion about what he wants to run. And he's the guy that's got to execute. It is going to be some tension. And that's all right. I mean, there's that's how the NFL operates there. There are always those moments, and I've done this with coaches, the coaches that I respect that. I love that. I that I care about that. I think are just stupid at times. Like, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard like there's been techniques I've been coached to do that. I'm just like I'm not gonna I'm I won't do it in the game. Now, you can great me down. But that's just dumb like. So of course, there's been tension. Do I think there was some tension between Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers, of course, there is and and that doesn't surprise me at all. Now is it to the point where they couldn't work together. It to the point where there was a lack of mutual respect. I I don't I don't go and you'll even one crucial. What next step was it so bad that Aaron Rodgers said, it's him or me. He's gotta go. Aaron Rodgers coach killing come on. You know, I mean, he wouldn't be the first guy accused of that. No. I don't think I don't think that it was ever that bad. And I don't know that Aaron Rodgers, you know, walks into that facility in and starts dictating to you know, Mark Murphy, who is you know, the president of the Packers. I I don't think it's I don't think it was to that point. I don't I don't buy that. But I know there's some there's some hard headedness and there's some tension there between Aaron Rodgers. And I know that you know, that Aaron Rodgers isn't always the most like guy on his on his football team. I get that part of it. And you know, I think that's I think, you know, I think if you went to the chargers, for instance, I think there would be guys that don't really like, I I'm sure Philip rivers gets after people to where you know, that there are some tension there between Philip rivers and some of the the people that coach him and some of the players on that roster. You know, I know is true for Matt Ryan, I was I was doing a Atlanta game talking to Matt Ryan. And and he was like, you know, one of the things I had to work on as a leader of of our football team was I had to I had to kind of almost tone down. My message like I can get after guy. So like. So hard that you know, I can alienate guys instead of trying to you know, where I'm trying to coach them up, and I'm holding them accountable. It can get to the point where I ate them. You know? And so it's something that I think like a lot of great players have an issue with because they begin especially the quarterback position you've been given, you know, the rains, you're the guy that executes you're the guy that calls the play..

"You're a tough guy at you know, what I was thinking to think about this. I was what? Aaron Rodgers and Josh mcdaniels if you're a true competitor, Colin right, right? If you're Aaron Rogers, do you not want Josh mcdaniels as your coach, if you're a true competitor? I'd want it. Absolutely. And you know, why this is what you did. What time let me show you what you're gonna do with me Aaron Rodgers should pray. Josh mcdaniels gets the job to because it's him. And Tom, this is what you did with Tom. I'm gonna show you what I can do what you now Tom's got the rings. Aaron will never get him. I'm going to show you what talent is almost show you what I'll do in this system. Now. This is what Tom did watch. What I do. That's what a true competitor would want. Yeah. That's a good point. By the way. Just see pro football, focus. That's the ranking system. They rank all the players in the NFL. According to pro football, focus the AFC team rankings. They have New England at top New England chiefs chargers Steelers ravens Texans. I was I was saying this this morning. New england. So Kareem hunt out for the chiefs Melvin Gordon out for the chargers James Caan out for the Steelers Baltimore's got a rookie quarterback. And I just don't trust Houston. If I said today 4._0._1._K your pension who do you bet on who? Would you take? I would take New England removed. If Kansas City loses one more game. And by the way, they have to play the chargers and the ravens in Seattle. New England gets home field to the playoffs. It would either be New England. Melvin gorens gonna come back and be healthy. I really liked to charge their complete team. Good offensively. They can run out throw. I think they have. I think the chargers have the best roster right now in the NFL. And I'm not because I'm in Los Angeles. They toss up for me between them and the Steelers. To the Steelers have great corners the Steelers corners are good. They're not great not in. That's how I see the chargers as well. Yeah. You're mostly right on that..

"He had a wide open receiver on first down. But held the ball looking for the homerun even Troy Aikman talked about it. Back now throws it away. Not sure exactly what's going on the got one on one outside and Rogers had some time yet Aaron Jones writing Tronto. Over the ball. I don't know if he just simply couldn't see him or not. But you can't have a whole lot more. Now this one incomplete not a good possession there for Aaron Rodgers. I down he had a chance for easy completion over the ball. Third down and easy completion in the flat. For a first down. He misses wildly. That's not the defense. That's not not Mike McCarthy. I want to hear that the drive of the game. That's it. That's on Aaron by the way. He's now to in ten in his last twelve against all these quarterbacks. You tell me he's better. Then Matt Ryan Russell Wilson, Andrew luck. Cam Newton Tom Brady. He's too intent. Jared goff. You keep telling me he's better than all these guys. I gotta get more wins. Brady's last ten. He's eight to nine in one against those same contemporaries. I'm not being unfair here. I'm not being unreasonable. I'm not saying Aaron Rodgers has to win Super Bowls. I'm not I've never said that I'm not saying even Aaron Rodgers has to get to Super Bowls. I'm not saying that I'm not even saying Aaron Rodgers has get to the NFC championship. Like Brady every year. I'm not saying that I'm saying dude got to win more of these regular season games against your contemporaries against the guys is good. As you that. I keep being told you're better. Then by the way, Aaron Rodgers this year has beaten Mitchell Trubisky, Josh Allen, CJ bathroom and Brock..

"In fact, both of us that as a chip on the shoulder Aaron fell in the draft and Big Ben was third quarterback taken in his draft. Both are very very outspoken against. They're very popular franchise. I mean Aaron Rodgers has taken not even thinly veiled shots at the Packers bosses and Ben is taken multiple shots at the Steelers and Mike Tomlin both of had really really really nice weapons. Both better than Brady Benz had. Plaxico and Hines ward Santoni oh homes juju Smith Schuster air. That's Big Ben errands had Donald driver Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings. Davante Adams, those are really above average wide receivers. Both generally have good offensive lines. In fact, if you look at their playoff histories, it's very similar interest in Rogers playoff losses. He's lost some really good quarterbacks. He lost. A Russell Wilson's going to be a hall of Famer. Carson Palmer, maybe a hall of Famer and Matt Ryan, very good. But he's also got some stinkers Aaron Rodgers losses. A huge favourite align manning, he lost a Colin Kaepernick twice any lost an old old. Kurt Warner Big Ben the same. He's got some playoff losses. Two times to Brady into Peyton Manning. The big Ben's also got some stinkers in the playoffs. He lost a Tibo, David Garard. Blake bortles. Ben and Rogers are both elusive and scramblers in at libbers that creates all time highlights, and it creates improvisation which can drive teammates, and coaches crazy. And bad interceptions and plays out of the pocket where you get hurt. In fact, both are always playing it about ninety percent health errands, increasingly banged up. Big Ben last three years increasingly banged up. You giving me these Rogers. Brady comparison, stop it. But when you start piling up trophies Tom Brady doesn't have a trophy case. He's got a trophy room. He doesn't have a trophy wall. He's got a trophy room. Their personalities aren't the same Brady is more coach -able more humble, less condescending, not as aloof Aaron is Big Ben. And by the way, both will be first ballot hall of famers to errands credit. He no longer wants to hear about the comparisons to Tom Brady. You look at 'em Jay and LeBron, you know, it's it's tough to to settle any of those debates because there's the what if game and the situation game and who you played for and what area played in. I'm just worried about winning right now, and he's got five championship. So and most discussions, I think. That's very appropriate. Very accurate. It shows Aaron Rodgers intelligence understanding self awareness. This is not a bash Aaron Rodgers segment Rogers is Big Ben from the franchise to the coach to the style to the outspokenness to the banged up to the ad living to the playoff failures there. Right aligned with each other. And they are two of the greatest quarterbacks I've ever seen. But they're not close to the greatest quarterback I've ever seen. And that's Tom Brady. Lakers one last night had a couple of big leads almost blew the game..

"Offense has become, hey, Aaron were trailing in the fourth. Can you make some of those really cool back shoulder throws? It's not clever, Aaron is it's not creative, Aaron is it's not intuitive. Aaron is listen to this stat in the last three years. This is with Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay in the first three quarters of games is minus ninety. One within Rogers in the fourth quarter, there are plus one, oh five. That tells you that Aaron Rodgers is a life preserver for a mostly marginal coaching staff and marginal roster. I watched that game last night. My takeaway was damn. I can't wait to watch Garoppolo the Niners next year. There's. There's a bunch of young forty Niners. I was like, oh, oh, this will be fun. Next couple of years in San Francisco, they out-schemed Green Bay all night. Do you realize on the road with CJ Beathard. On the road with CJ Beathard the forty Niners averaged almost a yard more per pass than Aaron Rodgers at home with veteran coach, Mike McCarthy, and what really struck me after the gay member on Sunday night. We watched that precise and exact and that systematic marched down the field nonchalant by New England to win the game. It was a two minute drill instructional videotape, like they practice it a thousand times the pacing, the precision, the accuracy. It was almost a seven on seven drill. They each knew what the other was doing. Last night Green Bay gets the ball in the huddle. A minute left, and this is what Aaron Rodgers said happened. They even backyard actually suggested that I play. So I gotta give him credit or else. He'll tell me about it tomorrow, but he he suggested that play and then tie obviously ran the ball well and got on bounce. So what offense lineman tournament harlot said, hey, Erin, member that play, we ran last year November why you run. Does that sound like how they do it in Bella check land in Brady land. He turned on offensive lineman who said, hey, hey, I draw it up in the dirt, but we got grass. Remember that play. We ran a couple years ago. Why don't we go ahead and try that one? Wow. Yesterday I said, there are nine teams I think can play for the Super Bowl this year capable of beating multiple teams back to back in the play offs. I needed though to see two teams more Carolina, a wait till they go to Philadelphia this weekend and Green Bay. I've seen Green Bay. This is not a Super Bowl team. This is not a Super Bowl team schemes personnel by the way, if it was not for that gift call late in the game, Richard Sherman was called for illegal contact. Monday night. Football showed about two frames of it. Erin, got sacked. And apparently they get a first down because of right there. You're watching it that move by Richard Sherman, if not its fourth in nineteen, they're putting the ball to San Francisco, which has all three timeouts left and can go in for the winning score. So Aaron Rodgers career, and I'm not saying he's without some blame is starting to feel a lot like Dan Marino's where it's like twelve to fifteen years of, wow, he's really good. Some real regular, limping at the end of it. And when it's all done, why didn't he end up in the Super Bowl more. He was so darned good. That's what it starting to feel like to me, I wanted to watch Green Bay next couple of weeks. I've seen enough schemes, clever, intuitive, none of it. I was blown away by the effort of San Francisco. I was shocked outside of Aaron Rodgers at the lack of schematics personnel, clever unique. I saw from Green Bay. Let me shift gears to this. You know, the NBA season opens tonight. Lakers opened in a couple of nights and the NBA seasons long. It is October sixteenth today, joy, and the NBA finals generally wrap up around June sixteen. So. Over eight months, that's eight months. And so you can only write about Denver's hosting the wizard. So many times you need eyeballs or the NBA media every year two or every year I should say, finds a player or two that the got to got to create some interest. But this year LeBron's not leaving us in LA for the next four years..

"E. r. d. I think I'm wearing one today. It's beautiful blue shirt. I think this is an untuckit shirt. He loved that shares soft and fabulous fabric. So I saw a story this morning, what ails the Packers offense, Aaron Rodgers knee or other factors who boy, Colin, you talk a lot about Aaron Rodgers. No, you do. I just react to it. And the question is, what does ale Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. I'm going to talk about something we thought coming into the season. Aaron Rodgers is back and he's healthy. We thought there only roadblock was the Minnesota Vikings indecision. I'm gonna talk about now a number that is rarely discussed, but may perhaps be the closest and most accurate signal to how successful you'll be. It is called PD point differential. The leader in college football right now in point, differential is Alabama. Three of the four teams remaining in baseball. Astros dodgers Red Sox leading run differential over the course of a season. The best teams historically separate from others more blowouts fewer, big losses. If you if I told you who do you think leaves the NFL point differential. Euboea Rams. You're right Chaves. You're right. The Chicago Bears have the exact same point differential as the Kansas City Chiefs. You see that right there Rams Jeeves. Bears, let me ask you something. Well, colin. Proved that it really matters. Okay. Do you know who led the NFL last year and point differential. Patriots eagles. Do you know who led the year before patriots falcons. In fact, it's twenty thirteen. The leader in point differential has made the Super Bowl every year. In fact, there's only one team, the cardinals in two thousand fifteen. That were top two in the NFL and point differential and didn't make the Super Bowl. If I recall Arrigoni made the NFC championship lost the Panthers, who by the way, had a better. Point differential Vokes Bama baseball, football point differential is how you know who separating there are three things. Everybody wants in the NFL right now. You want a young roster full of good players. Check you'd like dominating defensive front bears, check. You'd love to have a clever young coach, Matt Nagy check now. I don't think Mitch Trubisky special, but he's younger and healthier than Aaron Rodgers, and he's got mad, Nagy work, inform the minute. Jon Gruden inexplicably decided I don't see the value in Khalil Mack and the Packers had a chance to get him past and the bears got him. I said, you'll rue the day because you're going to face Khalil Mack ten times next five years minimum. He could be alongside Aaron Rodgers at practice. He'll be Aaron Rodgers. Number one, target ten times. Next five years actually already faced him once help hurt him. It'll be nine. I think Packers and their fan base thought Minnesota was their only roadblock in that division. You start looking at point differential. They got the right coach, their defense is sick. Almost all their good players are young and signed up for a while. That the Aaron Rodgers dilemma. That's why you had to get Khalil Mack away from Chicago. Once the story surfaced that he was available for the record, the raiders last in the NFL and sacks, and the bears are number one in the NFL in four or five different categories including getting to the quarterback, what ails Aaron Rodgers. Well, I'm not sure this moment, but for the next five years, Chicago is going to be what ails him.

"No, that's that's not a profound shock jock hot tick. Jimmy grams. The first elite tight end, I would say John, Michael Finley, the best tight end beforehand that Aaron Rodgers had play with is that is that right? Like name me, the guy that he was he did play Greg Jay's a good player, but Greg Jennings wasn't Randy moss. We do. We make it out that that Tom Brady never play with great players play. Randy moss pair, rob gronkowski. I would even point out that, yes, he helped make Wes Welker west Walker helped make him. Most important down in in football third-down best down wide receiver in the league for three straight years. West Welker. Those two go hand. I don't think Westwood gets into the hall of fame, but his numbers and how important he was the fact that he got double teamed ever. Every third down will tell you that he probably should be. Again hasn't played with great teams hasn't played with the greatest coaching staff. The Dom Capers thing never really was better, but never really worked. Offensive line would always be injured. Running back position was one to which they never seem to really find a fix for. So I, I don't think Aaron Rodgers has to win a second Super Bowl Peyton anyone a second suppo. But he did so because of his defense was because of him. Ben Rhodes burgers. I Super Bowl had nothing to do with him, Antoine Rendell through a better ball in the Super Bowl, and the fishing was awful for Seattle. So a second bowl does nothing for me. I know it does for some. I don't think Aaron Rodgers needs another one to get to that other plane because here's a guy who part of the story is no scholarships at a high school. One scholarship at a junior college. Last guy in the green room had to come in and replace Brett farve, which is a huge shadow Follett and has been as good or better than number four who preceded him, doesn't turn the football over and is an incredible weapon that checks every box of what you have to do as a quarterback from leadership, to accuracy, to arm strength to foot speed in and out of the pocket. All right, upcoming next everyone loves lists or they hate that they love list, right? There's a hate love thing too. But this morning we put together a list that will drive you absolutely insane. But we'll also make you think it's next in the hurt. Catching MLB doubleheader Saturday on f s one for Sean Carlos. Stanton leads the Yankees against the Tigers. Then the raise battle Francisco Lindor and the Indians at all sorts at three thirty eastern on f s one or stream it live on the Fox Sports app..

"The best example of that is the LA Rams at the LA Rams are already reworking contracts so they can sign Aaron, Donald. You do that just to get a contract sign like you got all these guys on one year deals. It's just going to continue and get worse. So, yeah, go for it now, but eventually the piper will be paid. Which brings us Aaron Rodgers, who has the rightful distinction. Now is the highest paid player in the NFL quarterbacks. Most important position. He's the best player. His time was up. He gets paid not gonna argue with it. But. What if I gave you the name? Tom Brady, I o Gottlieb I've heard at Tom Brady took less money. Okay. YouTube other names Kevin Durant, give you another name, Tim, Duncan. Now you may say, hey, Kevin Durant. I only took two million less, but it is two million less. Tim, Duncan never took going rate, Tom Brady, could he got a little bump little extra bonus. Just going back to go from the patriots. Could he have said like, hey, you got rid of my two backups last year I am paying till I get Aaron Rodgers money. He could, but he won't because you have to have left over and and if your argument is Aaron Rodgers has been sitting there going fellas. There's a pie and you haven't been divvying up and we haven't had good enough players for the last six, seven years. So I haven't gotten to Sukhpal. There's nothing wrong with that argument, but I give you twelve titles to rant. Tim, Duncan, Tom Brady combined. Who took less money than going rate took less money than whatever the max is. They're the most they could possibly get so they could win. And it has worked so that everybody gets, there's everybody. The it's the ego tells you. It's really, really cool to be the highest paid guy. Nice big, but everybody has a budget. Heck, we got budgets here and if it doesn't come out of your salaries coming out of somebody else's. And you know you're only as strong as your weakest link. So to Aaron Rodgers who like I'm not going to critique going after every last penny with this one exception going after every less penny does leave. You open to a what happens is they can't fill out a roster. Good enough. We wanna say, why didn't we go air? And we, we gave you all that money. There's a limit. There's a point to which we tap out. Point to which we just can't keep spending. Every team is constructed differently. I even love the Farren and sometime radio host narrative of, hey, listen, all these teams are now valued over two billion dollars, yes. But then you have to sell your team..

"Wednesday. And. I have a big lunch today. The very important person. Big lunch de nibble at big lunches or do you eat hearty. I don't eat hearty I don't like napping. I get tired, I get. So let's in fifteen minutes. Joel class coming on. I'm gonna give you my final four college football, playoff. I take this stuff. Seriously. I look at schedules. I look at by weeks. He's going to push back on my top four playoff teams, and I'll come to LeBron's defense in thirty minutes, but there is an interesting story about Green Bay. So let me ask you a question, what's leadership? Everybody said Derrick, jeeter had it a rod, didn't. Everybody says magic had it not sure if Kobe did what is great leadership. I don't know, but I do know what it's not. Yeah, I don't know the healthiest foods in the world, but I know ice cream's not one of them, although I love ice cream, Aaron Rodgers. Is he a great leader. No, no. But I'll tell you this. I used to bang on him for being passive aggressive. He's now aggressive. Yeah, he came out to hear him yesterday talking about young wide receivers. I like this Aaron Rodgers. He was one of the worst car decision to be bad. I don't know how you can make any simply literally have what the play would be in our terminology on the card. And the effort level is very low, especially when I'm accustomed to. Well, I'm getting older and Grumpier. Yeah. At this for a long time. I'm tired too. You know, we're all tired. So you little tired a fuse used most shorter. And again, you know, you're like the fourteen play of fourteen play drive and yet you know, low effort level and a m a s little freshman. Yeah, he he didn't like him. You said they were terrible. He said at one point he called it piss poor. I like that are in Rogers. Again, I don't know what leadership is, but I know what it's not. I know it's not fake. Let me give you an example of a young quarterback who thinks this is leadership, and I'm here to tell you this is not leadership from Andrew luck a kid. I, like I've said this before. I don't. I don't think the Sachsenhausen indicative of how well off it's of line plans. A lot of those, you know you, you'd probably blame me for hold on. Hold holding the ball too long. I feel like I, I missed some opportunities to help put the put the game away. The interception could play by db bad ball by me. Yeah, it was bad Rita through late that fro- and they make you pay for those in the NFL. I'm disppointed myself for being a part of a slow start. I know that's not leadership because nobody in the room bought that. I loved it. Aaron Rodgers comes out and ripped his young receivers. I love it by the way, if LeBron did that, would we have a problem if Gregg Popovich came out and rip player, we have a problem if Steve Kerr came out and rip somebody, but we have a problem if Bill Belichick came out, Sean Payton came out and ripped the player. We have a problem then why would I have a problem with the best player? Arguably some would say no argument in the NFL coming out and rip a young teammates. I loved it. There's a bumper sticker you ever seen those bumper stickers driving around joy and the bumper stickers mean people suck, and you know the bumper sticker, I'd put right next to it standards isn't arrogance their standards. A lot of times we think old people, hey, Gish, cranky. Hey, this airline this food. No, as people get older, they have seen officiency. So when they deal with inefficiency, it drives them crazy. One of the great things about doing this business now for twenty plus years. Like I've seen really good and I've seen really average, and I'm not going to stand for really average anymore, and nor should you. I don't know what great leadership is, but I know what it's not always taking the blame, never being demanding. Love the new, hyper aggressive Aaron Rodgers over the formerly passive aggressive, Aaron Rodgers. Let me shift to the Dallas Cowboys. You ever go to a hotel and hotels go. Those circular mirrors in the bathroom. They're called like vanity mirrors otherwise known as confidence killers and you go look in that vanity mirror and it magnifies every blemish, right?.

"Wednesday. "Yeah it's called the hog it is milwaukee best the milwaukee's best rock so inbetween playing fog hat they brought on aaron rodgers and aaron rodgers with a not so subtle shot the packer front office all right a draft night where you going to be i don't know i couldn't even tell you when the draft is you're not gonna be perched on mike mccarthy's right shoulder helping him for telling him who you need on your side of the ball this year i think it's pretty clear that players play in coaches coats and personnel people make their decisions that's that's the way they they want again now that was two point nine the hong tell you i really thought you were joking but it helped me as milwaukee's best wrong wrong wrong doc okay there's two ways to look at that shot aaron rodgers is the only american superstar with no leverage in baseball bryce harper mike trout can name their team in basketball marginal players have leverage he's an american superstar and he's trapped there's no impending free agency there's no contract clause or balloon payment that could force green bay's handed extension talks i totally get his frustration i totally get it but he's gotta remember this they did give brett farve a lot of power and farve kind of toyed with them i'm gonna retire i'm not gonna retire i'm not i'm retired i'm not so aaron rodgers is a little bit of a victim of brett farve because green bay let brett sorta run the franchise and at times he abused it and so they're not gonna let aaron rodgers have that kind of leverage according to sources he.
