League of Legends Salary Caps

"Talk about League of legends. This story totally flew under the radar guaranteed no one watching right now saw this at all and to me this is a major like really major and Anyone talked about it. This was on Dadi. Sports. L. L. TO IMPLEMENT SALARY CAPS will assign players in tears based on performance. So basically, what they're saying is a Chinese. League of legends okay. is going to have salary caps like the NBA. So you can only pay players so much money. And and that they'll have a minimum wage, the lower limit, a luxury tax if you go over the salary cap right. but basically. That players based on how well they perform will be assigned to tears, which determines how much salary they can actually make. I this to me is unheard of both I think in traditional sports. And Any Sports William do you think this is great like as a team owner? Do you like seeing this is a I mean I. It's tough for me to say anything other than I really like it. You know I mean like look I mean it. It's in the L. p. l., which is hardly forefront of what we're looking at right now in terms of sports ecosystem but it's a very important league in the global context right and I suspect it's me to address a couple things right? Like one is. Like let's I think it's probably not good for the players because anytime there's a salary cap that's usually like that. That means you're salaries caps really I don't know if this is a win certainly for the top pros, it's on a win for the less strong pros. Maybe there's a benefit here because now they're more draft viable salary basis although to be honest, they were probably already draft five on a salary basis right? Because the answer is like if there's ten slots, the eleventh players basically like. They're either playing like a highly specialized scherzer deploying a highly especially skill or not. Right. So you know there's a lot of momentum to get to get edge players into the scene. I suspect it was driven by the fact that there there is a little bit of arms race sports, salaries that takes place right and I think the publishers looking at it and they're saying, do I want my teams because let's be honest this is not altruistic I. Don't think is right being like a really help you. If we capped the salaries, you spend less on your players right and also it's not even altruism because I don't think it's good for the players as I've said so I suspect this was motivated more by. Riot would like that money going elsewhere into content into videos into train like basically anything other than paying rents on athletes and the salary cap I thing is interesting. It's it's like. I'd like it to catch on I think it's good. We have models and traditional sports with salary caps that I don't think really work because a lot of this has to do with teeth if you're luxury taxes, two percent nobody cares. But I. Think it's an interesting thing to look at and I think I. Think it's a good like it shows that riot is continuing to look. Like they're not resting on the laurels at the L. and what's happening. It looks like they're looking at other structures on an even though this is not the lcs like this is an important league, and I suspect could be viewed as an incubation ground for new ideas you know. Says, massive for the future reports at I agree Cam Roman says this only in China so for yesterday. and Joseph I'm not familiar with the of legends but I'm guessing some teams make more making unfair advantage, I? Yeah. That's that's that's every league for the most part I just I love this for a couple of reasons one, there's a clear effort here to make. Team ownership more sustainable. Which? Just about every other sports league has largely ignored. Right, like here, there's a clear effort to say, and this is the second thing. I love about it and you mentioned it in in some ways it dismantles the ability to have an arms race right? That's fundamentally what it does. Players can still be played paid well within this construct and I would argue it's much more of a mirror talk crisi within this construct. But what you don't get with this is like. Team XYZ decides they really WanNa sign faker right and they're willing to pay faker fifty million dollars right now all of a sudden every player who thinks he's as good as faker or maybe sort of as good as faker is now going well, he's got he's getting fifty million, I want forty million right and you sort of get this runaway train of player salaries. That are being driven usually by one or two irrational signings. and this sort of. Cuts the knees off of that like it it, it eliminates the ability to have that is driven signing. And it ties it also performance. And therefore. You have real long term stability I think as a team owner in this league

And it's difficult. I mean as a blades difficult and then you have to Luminol roker incense again, game have to find the open anthony so. Maybe it can be done better actually, and this is how it basically came to our. Eight year is traveling tranship services stacked up so These my team we decided to dry and change this. So graded that from that, literally, as you said, allows n game of Brown to integrate is put services around it in just fifteen minutes, ano- every every game every every sauce says, Hey, it's easy just to come on come on you can do that and then two hours of later who come with. And you're like, yes, it's fifteen means you're doing some syndrome. Beneath. Two minutes. Walk. In the integrated stream essence, you sent up your Chanter Simpson, our extremely who's a friend of front and you're done you open your game you see southern the our beautifully assists lager. You last opens assist system as Tappan Zee see immediately, your game east I think of logging ends ACC teams in leagues though Elleray in ongoing. Championships. And Emerson houses ultimately did. So when for example, the chimp turns ships automated you set up a bouncer running on schedule you can change your goals again. EMBIID new service. What I, what I thought originally was so interesting about your business is and I was talking actually to my class about this today 'cause we were discussing leagues in League business models and things like that, and you know the differentiating between third party organizers like ESL and Dream Hack and and publisher own leagues like Overwatch League or call of duty great and and one of the comments I made to my class. Which I believe very strongly is that because East sports is all of a sudden seen as a revenue source not as a cost right as an expense but as a true potential source of revenue more and more game publishers will want to control. I. Think Their Own East sports destiny right? We'll want to have their own functionality will not want to outsource to third parties to to do that and I think. What was so cool about what you're doing is in some ways, you allow any publisher to that to take control of their e sports. Destiny

Why Esports Coaches Don't Fill the Same Role as Traditional Sports Coaches

"This is actually focused on coaching I. Think this is an interesting parallel of the were talking about. There's an aspect of the MLS LCS COMP that relates to coach and it specifically how coaches approach roles for players and a trend I think started about twenty five years ago where there's this whole thing for young athletes hey, they need to specialize early and they need to find. Not. Just the sport they WANNA play, but the position within that's what they wanna play so that they could focus on it completely. and. It's something that creates a potential issue in terms of teamwork and. Understanding of. Either the field or the virtual or the rift depending on what what you're playing. And that's something that is sort of changing in the sports world a little bit over the last ten years who actually? No, it benefits our goalies to understand what it's like to be an attacking player. They can have that experience. That's good. You flush aw bat specific cop and why that relates to coaching and how it impacts the ability of coaches to really be successful. Of course. Yeah. Yeah. to miss it. Did you ever play a traditional sports? I did I was a soccer player in high school. I'll split tennis basketball really all around until I got injured and play sports because I need competition. I think we're we're pretty similar So. When when when I first started playing like as you mentioned like there was this focus on his Asian and the parallel to. Something like Lee. Legends is abundantly clear especially in North America. players will before they're even like in in ranked 'cause you have those thirty levels to get to. To get to before you start playing rank games. They're gonNA choose favorite position and like that's just Kinda engrained. And that's Kinda rough. But I think that needs to be that needs to be tackled that needs to be gotten rid of because when you're only. Focusing on one position and we have a lot of that and it's hyperfocused in North America. We have things like one called one tricks where you only play one champion. So it's it's hyper focusing on hyper focusing even more than is already have like should be happening. So we have these these one tricks and these one position players. And they're they're going all in and the as you said, they know nothing about the other player. So where coaching comes in is like there should be a focus on foundational knowledge and just general knowledge that will contribute to the overall play when when you're playing midland when you're playing midland in League of legends and Everybody knows most people know and Lee legends that the Mid Jungle Synergy is incredibly important has amid later if you know where your juggler is going to be and where the opponent judy is going to be, you can plan accordingly But if you all you know is about your your mid lane like position like say trade against your enemy mid Lehner and like a manage the waves effectively while that's important. Knowing about the other aspects of the game is it is expansive like you'll have a massive over the other teams and it. It's crazy to me that this the like just knowledge this is just knowledge. It's just being neglected we and I feel like it's just so much more potent in in North America still while still needs growth in other regions like a do follow g to at all. Of course alibi European friends Yeah Yeah G. to. Last year did something unprecedented. They sent a perks down to the bottling and they brought in caps who was a world class midlander, and so perks demonstrated something that no other team had really done before and that a role swap can happen and it will benefit the team like he went from. Midland to bottling lane in they played even better than they did before if anybody in North America attempted the same thing, I don't think we would find. Any semblance of the success that G. to did and I it's. I I think we should start working towards that coaching and House how this relates into coaching is. Is just the the emphasis on on knowledge. Our emphasis is always just as I said earlier, just the position that. You're already play and there are so many holes. There's so many things because people are just rushing to. Can like immediately I feel like I've gone a little rambler here real. They're made for rambling that's the whole point of the medium. It's I think you bring up a really good point is that position Louis play is the hardest thing to do at any most consistent marker of the greatest players and the greatest teams. If you watch a premier league soccer, for example, I was watching Liverpool. Play this past weekend at the way they move even compared to the MLS is completely within motion they're all. Moving with each other if that means that the midfielder needs to go back to Centreback, he does that without debate he's thinking about, Hey, this position I need to be he understands how the team needs to move around the ball and that's something that like you mentioned with g two, it's possible to do if you understand all those positions. But when you're one trick, this is true of MLS is somebody will miss their assignment and the whole defense fall apart because it's all predicated on everyone playing that one specific role, and it does not nearly have the same. Level of. Cohesion of of nuance that that the best teams in other countries are playing for an to America's credit. That's true of other sports say basketball when you watch a team in North America play or in the NBA play basketball, we're moving very position Louis. Format where it's Oh. It's people playing around each other The big men are no longer just staying underneath the basket there out by the three point line. And in other places that's not true because America's got the best basketball player at the best basketball league and it's sort of a martyr of. You have the best players and the Games take on added level of synergy. That's only really seen at the absolute top level, and that again comes down to coaching and a lot of ways coaching from early days, and then also coaching that continues into the pro play and having players who are receptive to have coaches actually talk with them and I think that's what are the big things we need to talk about his eastwards coach is. Especially in North America Arthur coaches respected some are but quite a few. Probably. Just got thrown into their role.

"The support it's been great I think it's been I think. If KKOB it hadn't happened I think we would have had a much faster. Adoption from local fans, businesses a very good job. Connecting on locally we do have some strategic partnerships locally and we've tried to work with some local businesses I think. One of the things we've taken from a I. I should say that So. For us it was a matter of like it was almost two fold. So we're already in this franchise leads right that had a localized proximity to a to a team like where we represent Florida for call of duty and overwatch like. So you from that were right. We should probably have presence in the markets when we have an event or sell tickets. Or merged people know what the what the Hell we are and and Ken Ken we can can we get more money can we can get better deals we work with the different, a different teams internally within the State of Florida to help brought to reach their fan base things like that. So it was almost like, okay, we need to have a presence here. And we moved our our LA operations, which is our over watch league team. She to Florida and several people from Berlin outside of outside of this running the Berlin office and LLC team. Most a lot of those people came came to Florida's well. Working with the city and county we said listen we want to have our headquarters here and we're going to. Bring a lot of jobs. We're going to bring a lot of people down here, and from that obviously, you can work with cities for your brakes on taxes and and just you know. Helpful. There's all sorts of programs for small businesses to help out with. With all sorts of expenses. So I think we looked in a lot of those. We talked a lot of economic boards like even even even talked to some city. Where we're going to be in Boca the whole time, and then there was talk me down to Miami and just looking at see like what these cities but the county's could offer us if we bring thirty jobs and that was thirty jobs pretty quickly I mean let alone scaling up down the road so. And that's where you know we said, hey, we're going to do this What can you do for us? It didn't have to really be a lot of ink or even may anything I think we just ask a question and I think if you don't ask sometimes you know the county and city aren't GonNa, just open like Oh yeah had come here's. We'll help you out with this. This doesn't this. If you say listen like we're GONNA bring jobs we're going to bring revenue we're going to bring opportunities you know how can we work together then you start getting the different boards in the The county level state level listening to you about how so. Yeah I've I've I've done a little bit of token the past Locally here in Australia with sommes and and councils, and the state government that we used to have, which is a liberal potty. You know about exactly those kind of things about hacking you support these people to provide jobs into the space and you know I talked to I talked to three full five teams are all based in Sydney and Melbourne versus Sunni rivalry here in Australia it's it's almost like L. A. Versus New York I guess and saying to them, look these teams would move if you provide them with some support and these government. Austin. They've got a lot of facilities that are fairly empty office spaces that are looking to fill L. even like the Australian Football League, they bought a stadium. He had stadium announced called Marvel and they're always talking about how it got so many empty rooms in the small function rooms in spices and things like that too. So it can you work with a game who's just you know raised I million in seed capital and his hide five ten stuff to give them an office face you know to you. Give them give them some tax benefits give them some support from the from The v Victorian Chamber of Commerce. For example, you know help them with the with the business development departments within the local and federal governments because there are. So many of these know there are local is a local government potty or local government business here in Australia that takes game development companies, I've. Essays does to his in China and takes them to tencent and say look he is the best that we have to offer you. Can we hope to facilitate some wet between you guys and I think that a lot of the time I feel like in in as bullets in infamy? Personally. I've alienated myself from every other traditional startup business where often people say wasteful it's way different. Yes we're startup. Yes. We had to raise money. We have a pain L. U. S.. Business like everyone else. But in some way we feel like way different. But ultimately, we're not you know we still need. Jason money we still need sponsors. We still need profit and loss. We still need staff facilities. In the NBA sports is just business.

NC State Study Looks at Gender Disparity in College Esports

"We're looking at a paper published by an associate professor, any PhD student at North Carolina State University. The research appeared in the Journal critical studies on Mass Communication. The goal was to see if college is worth programs have been more successful at crecy gender representation. East sports than professional sports have there are a few women who compete at the highest levels of professional sports. Rockets Karma is well regarded player who has spent time in. Her stoldas women, when major tournaments it so as fortnight, but for dependent environment that doesn't have fiscal differences creating a gap between genders us for to still almost entirely male dominated Nick Taylor co-authored the study and associate professor of Communication at NC State said in the journal quote five years ago we thought collegiate sports might be an opportunity to create a welcoming diverse competitive arena which. Was a big deal given how male-dominated the professional eastward scene was rapid growth of collegiate sports over the past five years has led to it becoming more professional with many universities having paid eastwards, positions, recruiting players at so odd we wanted to see how that professionalization has affected collegiate sports and what that means for gender diversity. The findings did not give us reason to be optimistic. For this study naked, his Co author interviewed Twenty One people involved in these sports programs. Eight of the people are part of Varsity programs with the other thirteen being president of their schools. Collegiate East Sports Club six of the respondents identified as women fifteen identified as men PhD Student Bright Style, the other CO author of the study told the Journal. Quote essentially, we found that women are effectively pushed out of eastwards many colleges when they start investing financial resources in east, Sports Program we talk lease sports might help to address the disenfranchise women in eastport at engaging more generally instead, it seems to simply be an extension of that disenfranchisement and quote. While an interview of twenty, one people isn't a perfect encapsulation of the wide-ranging college. He's worth ecosystem, all twenty one or in key rules of big programs meaning they speak for quite a few more when it comes to gender disparity. College eastwards still have a chance to be a place where we can create more inclusive east sports environments, but `gate-keeping in Tuxes D- are still real problems that women face in the space without focused initiatives that disparity won't get much better.

It's a good situation for both sides booth prizes coming from DEB's at least in part prize payoff can fluctuate for night and just fall alone. We'll have over one hundred K. awarded scholarships right games. The is a huge game for play versus the company's partners also has its own college program called U., L. A. This Siege YouTuber Got Blacklisted For Life

"We got all sorts of allegations to get through but this story starts with the hot breach podcast which rogue nine co hosted alongside other siege youtubers get flanked and purdue Pete and as far as siege specific podcast go it was pretty popular. Everybody. Welcome to a very special episode of the hot breach podcast back in October of twenty, nine, thousand, nine, hundred hot breach guys were invited by Ubisoft down to a balancing workshop that was being hosted in Barcelona. The idea was that they would come experience what the workshop had to say, and then record a podcast live in. Barcelona. The reality is this Barcelona trip was a disaster for everyone involved in actually led to the end of the hot bridge podcast because the very next day. All of Montreal based colleagues and many of the bustle based ones that I've been harassing her that I made her feel quote very uncomfortable and unsurprisingly making such a serious accusation against me turned an awkward situation into a complete nightmare. Now, almost a year after the trip rogue neither recently put a video talking about the harassment allegations made against him and how the Barcelona trip played a role in ultimately getting him blacklisted by UBISOFT. I will be sharing a story of how it was physically threatened at a rainbow six event by Ubisoft to staff member who was drunk off his face as well as details of defamation and match-fixing by another in the. Video, he also accuses to siege community developers of abusing their position, threatening him, and even allegedly match-fixing a charity Creator show match. We'll get to those accusations and a little bit but first, let's start with the harassment allegations and this Barcelona trip according to rogue nine in the months leading up to the Barcelona trip he struck up a conversation with ubisoft employees over DM's that quote got a bit personal and plying the things we're moving towards a romantic relationship last year between August and October things became a bit personal between a Ubisoft employees and me I'm not GonNa go into too much detail here, but it is important to briefly touch on this luckily. Almost all of our communications were over twitter DM's, and I still have the entire thread to prove exactly what happened these messages prove that she made the first advances and that she repeatedly encouraged me to keep in touch with her eventually rogue nine says that the woman he was talking to clarify the situation there wasn't going to be a romantic partnership and while he felt led on in was hurt and told her as much apparently according to him the whole thing was chalked up to a giant misunderstanding. Now, the woman wrote nine was talking to was the same woman that was going to be running the upcoming Barcelona balancing event which remember the hot. Breach guys were invited to, and well, Roque says that the Barcelona trip was awkward but ultimately harmless I've had multiple sources tell me a different story and sadly all of this happened right before a weeklong balancing workshop to Ubisoft Bacelona offices which she had organized and that I had committed to taking part in months earlier from what I was told, how get flagged shares his perspective in a recent video he uploaded wrote nine took the rejection pretty personally and it ruined the entire trip for the hot breach team. Once we arrived it was evident from like day one that it was going to be an issue like I would say that it was awkward. From the get go, there were awkward dinners with everyone involved rose co-hosted. Their best to distract him get flying says that road tried to confront her about the situation which wrote disputes. The point is this situation was terrible for everyone involved everything went from like awkward on a trip to just like dysfunction I. It was the attention was unbearable and it was so awful. Okay. It got to the point where like she very clearly like you had to like. The taxes that we took from the studio and back like you had to make sure that they weren't in the same taxi and stuff like that like it was it was awful like it was it consumed the entire trump. It went from rogue being consumed by who just putting a dark cloud over everything. Over, the course of that entire trip I never saw her do anything that I felt was unprofessional I never saw anything from any UBISOFT employees on that trip that I felt was unprofessional, and then the day the podcast was set to record with the employees featured as a prominent guest rogue nine allegedly tried to veto her because he was still upset about the entire situation. Well, they managed to get through the episode get says that rogue nines behavior on the trip caused him and prestige gop to actually. End The hot breach podcast after the Barcelona episode and to stop working with rogue nine. Altogether, we basically decided that point that we don't want to work with rogue anymore not long after that road nine received the email from ubisoft saying that they were banning him from ever working with us off again because of these alleged harassment allegations quote due to your conduct during the operator balancing sprint workshop and Barcelona. Spain, we regret to inform you that Ubisoft will no longer be working with you moving forward this. Includes future activation such as the London event taking place on October twenty fourth we have always will value the content you have created over the years that said we cannot and will not accept behavior directed towards UBISOFT staff that disrespectful dismissive or route, and shortly after get flanked, put his video sharing his perspective on the Barcelona bouncing trip road nine posted another tweet longer basically disputing a lot of the offense that get flank says happened at this point it's become a bit of a he said, he said. The crazy thing about this situation that you saw reached out to me with a statement long before I ever asked for comment, which to me says that they're taking this very seriously work of content creators is critical to the health and integrity of our communities and our relationship with these creators is built on mutual respect and professionalism at these principles are not respected. UBISOFT we'll take action deem appropriate in order to protect our employees, partners and the wider community and okay. So that wraps up the Barcelona and harassment.

First Impressions on COD Cold War's Multiplayer Alpha

"Speaking of the future we did get a little taste of the Cold War multiplayer this weekend as they dropped with, they're calling an Alpha I always think it's cute when these AAA developers drop an open Alpha like this is an Alpha for those who don't know is supposed to be like the rawest form of your game before you really get the kinks worked out an Alpha is not hey, everyone can download this and play it. And you're good at Oh. By the way, our game is also coming out in like three weeks like that is not how call Beta one, Beta, two or something like that. Alpha's a bit generous to say like Yeah we've never tested this out until right now. Yeah. Alpha will figure this all out. But give him a minimum project the same time on that though because doing that's going to allow them to see a lot of tendencies catch a lot of bugs. Yeah. There's already a ton that we will dive into but yeah, like I think. WHATEVER THEY WANNA call it. This was a good move on trailer park this very different than how we saw infinity ward handled their game already right. We already hear about a lot of coming changes issues that we may have right now may even be gone by the time we actually play the next open Beta here in just a few weeks now disclaimer on all this. This was only on playstation. So as only on the PS four as far as I know, it might have been on Xbox to you, but it was only on console just place it just playstation. So a nugent did play it the last time I pull the only thing I play my playstation at the moment is for NHL. That is it like I have a couple of single player games. That I might hop on here and they're like Spiderman last of us but for the most part, just NHL I have not played a first person shooter with a controller since call of duty World War Two which I think was the last one not. So. That that will. disclaimer here, this is just coming from a normal perspective K.. Yet I could talk about how you know I sucked. But to be honest I didn't even talk that bad because the auto so ridiculous that it. Makes me look a little decent little decent. disclaimer there now, right off the bat though I will say this and you mentioned it as soon as we started playing when this Moose over to PC and the pros get to play this game on apiece. Refresh rates and. Just everything that. Cleaning it up. They are going to be blown away. They're going to perform so much better. I feel like we're just going to get a better game because I noticed it immediately like right when I got in God we were playing a timid join day. Twelve map initially because we wanted to try out the new ship NAP and if our modern from not whatever whatever whatever you call it. Yeah. Like I mean the ship nap the big ships. By the way what did I say did I lie when I say any game that has a battleship map on it is already a top five game. Oh, very cool map but now that has like three shifts on it that you can jump from ship to ship to ship. Diving. In the water getting vehicles, I'm not saying it's going to be competitive in east sports because it won't be from a casual standpoint run that twenty four, seven, I want to twenty four, seven ship Matt playlist are like that ship nap a lot more than the snow map. Yeah. That were for the big map that. Out on the names of these mounts but yeah, I mean I noticed it right away like the sixty hertz graphics like it. All just felt like I was playing on my old computer that I got rid of like a couple years ago. Now, you know like it just felt like I was playing on outdated equipment like I was playing things low settings compared to what I'm used to, and so that was the first thing that I thought of also is man like we're gonNA get a product. They've ever had before in call of duty lead just right away just 'cause it didn't play bad. It's just it wasn't as good as you would want it to be you know try and constantly. Yup. First thing that hopped out to me. I, think overall time to kill. It feels good. It is longer than what modern warfare was I kinda like. Me Too because it was one thing is when you played modern warfare for the first time I, remember playing the Beta or whatever they called it for modern warfare and I remember I got my first kill and laughed out. Loud. How because remember I they started with the foam us in warfare and I laughed at how fast they died. I took you back. The hundred fifty HP or whatever they're doing for. There's like. It did feel good. I didn't have an issue with it like I felt like it took. The right amount of blitz you know just felt it felt okay. The way I did was I will say this it allows what is a very underrated thing I think modern warfare was missing. It. Allows the turnaround kill. It allows for for that clutch moment to where if someone's coming up from behind, you can turn around and get them right into had that level of casual level. It will create that hype. So I liked not. Time to that was a big. That was a big piece of it like I think that. Just felt good. Overall map seemed okay a little. You know they're six we six. So it's hard to judge. But seemed I liked him I really like I thought Moscow is I think Moscow is going to be a really fun map to watch on a competitive level especially for before they have some like good wide lanes on there I I love the the lanes that we saw a lot more traditional. To call of duty than what we saw this past year with modern warfare is you can very clearly conceived distinct three lanes on most of these maps Moscow I thought was really good. I think satellite is going to be a really fun to watch. I know you didn't play too much but I thought satellite was a really good map of Miami. I have some concerns about just because of the openness of the middle of the But again, it does at least have the proper three lanes but the really spread out. So very curious to see how like Miami looks like a five eighty, five map instead of a four before to me on how it's currently laid out but. Again. I really liked him I thought the mouse were good and maybe that's just me grading attempt to light modern warfare maps. I did not like any of the modern warfare. Along. Yeah I was GONNA say it doesn't a lot to be to modern warfare Matt.

Halo Championship Series Pivots Due to Pandemic

"I want Halo Sports back I think all of you probably want Halo eastport back how a top fight beloved game only a decade ago has fallen so far out of public perception is a travesty. Well. Somebody players are invested in bringing it back. They've had to pivot due to the coronavirus the halo championship series or h was begging lot on the release of Halo Infinite but halo infinite was just delayed to twenty twenty one due to the virus. Now, the is still want to get some competition out there but they definitely are on the level of what we were hoping with infinite today. The HCC announced the halo five pro series between September twenty six and mid December the will host a combination of open professional tournaments culminating with four season. Championships, the is still operating the master chief collection, pro series or MTC pro series as well, but those games being played in Halo Three. This new series we played, in Halo, five as you may have guessed in this press release the ATS. Also said they're increasing weekly prizes for the MCC from five hundred dollars to one thousand dollars. If that doesn't sound like a ton, it's because it's not he'll has an eastward has fallen far from when it stood in direct competition to call duty mini are hoping for return and the ATS is the closest. Thing, we have the halo five pro series will have total prizes of sixty three thousand dollars that's split across four regions. The release of Halo. Incident was also going to bring East sports engine created by longtime eastwards, veterans, atom up Selah and Ryan. Thompson engine posts, a wide variety of eastwards partners including the call of Duty League, and plenty of the franchise partners of Activism Blizzards Eastport Sports Leagues Right now, the Halo five pro series and the MCC pro series are mostly place holders to keep longtime halo fans with some content if halo is returning. To a place among eastward top titles, it's going to happen with eastwards engine and halo infant but we're going to have to wait till twenty twenty one to see if that can become a reality

Inside the BLAST Restructure

"Blasts saying corona has hit our bank account a little bit. We gotTA restructure this if we want to really make it beneficial for the long haul. So what they're doing is moving forward, they will be increasing the participation fees paid two teams and reducing the prize money again. The I feel like this was kind of lost in the tweet because their initial tweet didn't really explain very well, the total sum paid by blast will remain identical. Okay. So I think that's important at the end of the day to realize that however the kicker here. Is the players aren't necessarily seeing that payout for participation. They see a lot of times in their contracts, the prize money. So you're taking away prize money to give it to direct payout to the ORG which you're like okay. Well, what's the big deal? It's all going to the same place not necessarily because pending on your contract pending on the Org again they only give you your pay right they give you what you agreed for on a payment and the prize money. So the double whammy here is that they failed to consult the counter. Strike Professional Players Association the CS. On this manner question for you why do they have to do that? That's a very good question which I'm glad you brought it up because I always every time this comes up in the world of counterstrike with. Like the CS PPA. Up We were not consulted about this we will be speaking with them behind closed doors blah blah, blah no one here heard about this at what point do they? Do you think they call an emergency meeting and say guys do people even know were around? Like do they like and I've said this before I feel like they have lost their own way whereas before it came out, it was, hey, we wanna look out what's best for the players while also working with tournament organizers and or gigs. To figure out what's best for like the system right now while then it's kind of turned into well, no, we feel like it should just be this way and we're going to create our own rankings because we don't like the way they do it You know things like that. I? Guess. You know perfect player union world. Yes. You would consult the players if you're going to change the payout. However if they didn't need you to start it, why would they consult you to change it? I'm probably GONNA take like a approach on this that if any players listening, I apologize ahead of time but like in a way what Henry g did by releasing the salary information I, say Henry Cloud Nine as the cloud nine decision right team decision to release salary? Information. Like you're not gonNA get a ton of sympathy from me at least when it comes to a little bit more money going into the owners pockets because what I see like again, this is one hundred percent my point of view I. don't even know if you agree with this what? I what I see in counterstrike right now is a game that is getting to this Odd Breaking Point doesn't mean the game's going to go away or die or nothing like that. I'm just saying it's at a point where. There's just this top end were just really top heavy in the fall off to me is is fairly massive when it comes to the landscape or the overall ecosystem of counterstrike, we're not seeing a ton of new teams invest into counterstrike. We've talked to team owners that have said it's a bad investment other than getting your name out there like if you're willing if you're willing to put in the money to be one of the top five. Great, it's good recognition by kind of beyond that. We see several team owners taking cheaper. Pats just to stay. Around in counter strike, but not necessarily the compete at the highest level because they know. To do that, it's millions of dollars in now we see a contract for the first time right now I know that includes Alex is a buyout but let's just say he's he's making around three four hundred K. annually off of this contract. Plus a buy out fee and then he's getting prize money from the six hundred events that go on throughout the year. Right? It's not like blast has. One. Event there multiple events in including one pretty much. Every weekend at this point, right weather's blast or star ladder ESL or face it. There's an event. Every single weekend at this point players are making really good money. Now I know there's a saying like, well, it's never enough right like you should be able to get whatever you're able to will. This was an opportunity for the elders in blast toward together in make making a little bit more beneficial for the ORG is. A huge problem in that. If they didn't consult with them. It's because they chose not to you know they didn't WanNa do it like we know you guys are making a ton of money. We need ours. Also a blast is still paying out the same amount, but I do feel for ownership groups right now in counterstrike because it is so outrageously expensive ended it's taken away from us a little bit in my mind because of how inflated the cost of Gone We've seen. Teams completely just wipe themselves out of counterstrike together we saw cloud nine one of the biggest stories take two year hiatus essentially from the game because they didn't want to compete at a high level. That's what it came down to. Right. They have the money the one of the most valuable orange but chose not to spend. Yeah. In put all their resources into counterstrike instead don't have two dollar and team cloud nine the just enough to stay relevant. That's it. They did the again that we've seen several teams do let's keep our name in the game refloating around right. If his top thirty we'RE STILL ON HDTV, we're still going to be in a handful of events 'cause re cloud nine a but at the end of the day, they didn't see it worthwhile to invest in the counter strike again, they're coming back now but that's after they have two dollar and teams in they're probably saying good success in other areas. Yeah. Ah Let. Me Tell you where I have a problem with because ultimately I think I leaned closer to you. My problem is not that they didn't consult with the Players Association. 'cause consulting means a conversation. Right? My problem is if there was no heads up given because it's not like this is in the off season of blast there in the middle of the event, right? They are still in the tournament mode four like the main blast that will eventually lead to like their big major, right For blast. That's where I have the issue because if you're if you're changing the prize pool mid tournament and not giving them a heads up I. Understand the reason. Obviously. We don't know all the numbers, but all we constantly hear about. How you know the tournament organizers make barely any money and the owners encounter strike especially, pretty much lose money. Right. Having a counter strike team. And yet. Always see from these players are Gucci watches you know Yeezy. Right like they're doing pretty okay. Not Every player I understand that. But for the most part, they're doing pretty okay with their salaries. Heard. From counterstrike pros saying that they won't go to events unless they're staying five star hotels for the most part like the best of the best tower tournament organizers where the. Name anything here but there's a place will say locally where I'm not even kidding you next door, there is a walkway, a covered walkway that leads from the hotel to the place where they were having the event and the players didn't want to stay at the hotel because it wasn't nice enough and this hotel is a Sheridan. It wasn't like a king to know knock on. Lucina. It's a shared. Sakes. Like. Four Star Hotel Four Seasons or anything but. Still pretty good and they wouldn't do it. So then the tournament organizers had to switch the hotel, right? The players went there and said, nope, this isn't up to our standards then switched the hotels and everything here like don't get it twisted. And it's actress counterstrike I'd say most East sports athletes. For being guys that like have very minimum requirements to get by in life like I've seen your room behind your Webcam right we know how some of these guys live they have very high standards when it comes to like pampering them. So No, I think for blast to take a conscious stand and be like we can't survive doing this. Let me ask the players this would you rather have more prize money? Or. Would you rather have? Would you rather have more prize money and blast fold after this because they can't afford To recoup or would you rather have? A reputable event. In blast payout a little less give your or more money to hopefully that will come back to you in some way and then being able to continue because right now that's the only option you have chances are that money is not going back to them in some way though right like. Chances are the orange will pocket money or use it for their expenses that even if? Up The fridge some you out. You know we upgrade the stream room for you guys our facilitation. Tips on Breaking Into the Esports Industry w/ESN Editor Justin Amin

"It's just it's Ben here for awhile again, like I said, he started as an intern and now he's really in charge of everything outside of the podcasts, all the articles, all the things that go on that East sports network insight and he's been getting great about it. So that's a little brief about how you broke into the sports industry but just to you, you know as we talk about how to get in does insurance industry that a lot of people wanna be a part of what we're yours started steps like into East sports, and how's it developed over the last year? Well, my starting steps. I started I feel like as the average college student I only graduated college early this year by the way. So I was starting my job while still in college and I think that's a big part for terms of getting internships I started as a college student in their late junior early senior level. Looking into opportunities trying to see what I could find so I did a lot of job hunting a lot of networking. Thanks to collegiate offenses will. So I think. The very start of all of this is taking your own initiative in. Really taking the time to search through all the endless things that are out there. Definitely yeah heart agree on starting the job before you leave school beyond internships it's a great opportunity but just networking in general, you can have a lot of fakes responded to you like Hey I'm a student who wants to work at sports. People are so used to get a weird product pitches and awkward business relations like I'd say like leak did or. Email that they usually ignore those somebody reaches I was just like Hey I'm interested alert about sports usually the response for deposits that networking early starting with looking at opportunities early is really crucial break in this industry. 'cause you can do it straight out of school like edgy levels effect, but there's not even really require for college degree. We're GONNA get into what? Role College plays in the eastwards later on in the show. But I had a very similar experience and thirties or it's right after graduating school at already started doing a little bit of working as worth while I was in school started writing right afterwards and then. Pretty. quickly, nobody ever asked if I had a college degree I did have one but nobody ever really asked in these sports and Once you get some articles published, the ball starts rolling. You can take those articles to another place and just keep going. That's Kinda mind developed justice. You've had a lot more consistent of a career than my first year was I worked for eight companies by I. Did hear that on a previous podcast. You're just going back and forth between all sorts. Yet it was break the game started that I went to Action Ease for its then sport techy hotspot spahis or it's a radio station based in Europe for a second disrupt gaming an or sixteen were their podcast. Football Post. And then hots Bondar say one I. Don't know it was a a whirlwind and I actually do recommend to people break into eastwards to be a freelancer because I wasn't full time for any of those companies and allowed me to be Pretty Nimble in Okay I've worked with these people for a little while like what they're doing here I'm GonNa, go work here I'm going to go take this other opportunity and so I do recommend that to a lot of students that being a freelancer especially if you still have your parents. health insurance to fall back on. It is the biggest drawback of being a freelancer that you don't have health insurance or you don't have the benefits that come with it, and if you have your parents health insurance, actually you get that safety blanket right out of school, and you also get the flexibility to start with a bunch of different schools so as I recommend for sure. Share. A lot of options and it gives you more of your own scheduling and timing pacing. You can choose when you're ready to work. Definitely. But justice took a different path like I. said, there's no one clear path he started with these forces at work and he still works at sports that honestly that consistency is pretty nice and you're allowed to advance through company and learn a lot more when you're in a consistent environment, what's been your favorite part of working for sports network over the years? I think my favorite part and part of it is lucky that we're a small company and one of the leaders here is that I get to choose the WE WANNA run. Like If we want to cover more league of legends content this week maybe because we'll actually do this week world's drawings everything, but I get to be able to choose and shift the focus of where we need to be and where I think we need to improve sometimes it's little more overwatch content. Sometimes, we need to cut the slack and. Out Rainbow six for a little bit but. A lot of options and I like being able to. Help influence lead the company.

SCCC is taking a break

"Didn't realize that until now but anyhow. Moving onto the next topic SCC. See is taking a break center I'm just GonNa read a quick quote from an article. SEC His former team astor announced last month that the player decided not to renew his contract with the organization and with many of the top contenders from the Chinese seen also undergoing roster changes. The fans were expecting to see him in a New Jersey this month however in a stream session from last night, he announced that he will actually take a competitive break as his negotiations. With a new team reached a deadlock. He didn't disclose the names of those who negotiated with, but he said that parts involved could not reach a compromise. Obviously, we don't really have that much information can't say I'm too surprised considering there's no DP plan in place as of yet. So there's no real reason to be employing players for teams if they're not under contract already, right That's the way I look at it at least. Yeah. I mean the word in could mean multiple different things right? It could mean. That he was trying to negotiate a higher salary than they were willing to pay him. So here's from an ORG perspective. It could be that he was in talks with teams, but they found another player that fit better with their ideology. If it just says negotiations like that. Especially, if it's translated from Chinese, right, we can speculate what this actually means. But one thing's for sure when SEC sees on, he's really fucking good and I'm pretty sure we'll see him later on next year probably and it's not the worst time to take a break. I think something that it's the article two is that he's going to move to another city that's cheaper. He hasn't spent his money from Ti. More was at ti seven that new got second. has bought a house or anything, and he's just been living in Shanghai which has been expensive. So He wants to save up some more cash, which is a wise move nothing wrong with that. Yes. That's what people should do. But often do not but you know. It's kind of the reason I'm a little bit uncertain about the wording is that we don't really hear many stories out of China like that where a player was not signed by a team and therefore takes a break because the contract could not be reached. Like terms that both sides agreed to. It's so unprecedented that it just makes me wonder if that's the case, maybe it happens a lot and we just don't hear about it and it's because SEC who had really high demands and then it's a special case because of that. But considering we have tons of stars and China that have

FaZe Jarvis Plays Fortnite Again After 1 Year Anniversary Of Getting Banned By Epic

"You know Tim a to talk Ford night from time to time. So I'm glad we get him to do it. We are few POD. Though. For those of you that don't remember there was a player on face face Jarvis that streamed himself cheating. To show in his words to show how easy it was to cheat in fortnight and he was making it a youtube video. So intentionally, did it intentionally streamed it stupid I. Thank you. I know there's a lot of advocates for him. Thought it was a dumb thing to do anytime. You Cheat in a game you're gonNA wrist assault yourself from being permanently banned it look they came down with the harsh penalty on him in the sense that they are not going to abandon. He is permanently banned from playing for night at least onstream. Obviously, they're not gonNA be able to stop him upstream from creating multiple counts so. Just, the other day he tweets out I'm back I'M GONNA play for at night tonight basically double Fu to the epic. Developers in said GonNa play Fortnight An. So the high built up around this and got a lot of likes was trending on Youtube that Jarvis back and Yada Yada Yada he streams for thirteen minutes before. His band kicks in those the can't see me I'm doing this in quotes ban the reason this is. In its early speculation on land. That was totally staged that whole thing was a hundred percent in my mind a staged video made for you to it didn't go to a ban screen at just said he been logged out which in my mind makes me believe somebody else just logged into his account in another computer another room to kick him out. It happened like thirteen minutes and it was the perfect youtube reaction video. I mean you might as well have had courage Maven in all these guys in there yelling it was that hyped when he got band. To me just a it was made for cliques. They got the impression out of it. It did what it was supposed to do, but it was bogus data was so fake I one hundred percent I mean first off a new Josh I don't I don't know if it was faked because phase such a genuine organization. Especially, on the content creation side I mean nothing they do is staged or exaggerated or setup not at all not at all phases. Super honest in that regard. From, the beginning. I have here I. Don't know how this is going to sound because I'm playing it through my phone. This is when Jarvis got caught the first time and he did his apology video. So this this audience you know it sounds. Apologies if this doesn't sound good especially from a game, you know love so much like. This I never thought. I'd have to. ICON speak. You know I have who wanNA. Like John to be able to play for my again. That's all I WANNA do is play for I. You know I just wanted to do your white truly loved the most in life, and so there's a quick snippet. There's like seven minutes of it and you get the point he was like bawling his eyes out during his apology video and then like within forty eight hours and make another clips and he's laughing and they're doing their bit where they're like, well, why yes. Phase do, phase up no hate. I. Don't want to I don't hate anyone, but if I had to hate someone. Jarvis would probably be my top ten. His reason forgetting band was incredibly done to begin with in now just the way that this is like. Gone is just a big publicity stunt is how I feel in. So I mean look I don't hate him at all like I. Really Don't hate him. He has an effective is literally I've thought of Jarvis phase drivers twice in my life. This moment now and when he was banned the first time other than that, I've never heard of him. I don't know really know what he does at phase he could be the mail for you needed him to do this to make it worth it to keep them on. You know on on the payroll. To do something big, it was big in accomplished. What they were supposed to do. It was just it's funny. 'cause I know there's a lot of people out there that believe it was it was real like there are a lot of twelve year olds which is. Large. Audience to like you know it's a fun video for them. So they did a good job in that retrospect but. A bullshit stage video at the end of the day right like any. Normal adult will watch that India like. They did this for clerks pretty fast or pretty effect, but the twelve year olds eat it up. So. Famous phase up phase up.

"Was some drama with. I think it was wannabe or something like that. Post some about. No up here it was. Some. Some player had some issues. Show Chow Wannabe I mean you guys alluded trauma spot without even telling me and screamed another wouldn't know. Basically calling out the staff of Malibu and recently seven days ago. Malibu. Staff have mutually agreed to disband the team and organization the Competitive Roster Malibu Brandon will no longer of. Like just group of buddies turned into an org got like big money sponsors. I'm not mistaken. It's like Kevin Garnett is a like. A funny lower. They're pulling out of overwatch They had a little bit more to say I'm going to read their statement here It's with a heavy heart that we announce the exit from our Overwatch Watch contenders triumph will not field and overwatch team for the remainder of two, thousand twenty I team was founded last year with the desire develop the next generation of professionals. CoD League Layoffs

"Let's go. Let's switch gears a bit. Can we talk about? Do Business we call of duty leak and look. It's another opportunity for me to you know rag on them a bit. But this was an article from Dallas News, DOT COM and. And the article, the headline was Dallas Empire partways with three time world champion cloister prior to twenty twenty, one season with the twenty twenty one cdl season moving to a four on four format. The Empire had to make a tough decision. So basically, just to summarize the article next year call of Duty League is going to a foreign four format versus a five on five format. And that means. After winning the call of duty, league, championship the after the empire, which is owned by envy. I believe after they won. Now. They're essentially laying off their one of their if not the star player on their team. Which is weird right while Liam on it's it's we are dessus like this would be like if like three super bowls, the Patriots were like you know what Tom Thanks Take Yeah, you really you really contributed bet they're going to a sixteen and format and. It's weird. Because presumptively look an I'm not an expert on call duty scale, and maybe he is not mechanically as strong in this last season is he wasn't early seasons. If you win three world championships, you're probably pretty good. Seems like a keeper to me what's going on Axel like you follow the Collagen more than like what's behind this kind of bombshell shift? Yeah super curious stuff. Obviously the context of this to everyone's kind of playing from home. Everyone's kind of navigating through all this cove stuff. So everything's Kinda different in general I think there's a lot of fun tangents we get into call itself. I'm sure you guys have explored conversations of of of of free to play versus the yearly model which I think is the hardest thing that games like Halo and call of duty of had to overcome the fact that they're used to releasing a game every year for sixty bucks. How does that work with the East sports? Ecosystem. If your game is constantly changing, you're expecting a new pro seen to arise from new game every year versus other games like starcraft, which has been the same, which will which will be the same versus other games that are just completely free to play and only have updates every. So often likely legends and fortnight so. Ton Nick into potentially there but at the end of the day. This roster move call of duty in in closed her the constant changes. I think there are always going to be tough I mean just the fact that this change is happening with the League, the roster changes having to be made it clearly didn't seem like there's a lot of heads up given to players and teams, which is a big deal when it's such a massive franchise chef, the vestment and big deal for so many people so. Yeah Dude I'm Kinda of be Willard about this as y'all are I was mentioning earlier when we were talking for the show the fact that. We see a lot of east sports teams with like really nice. Really good subs in, and that's the thing that gets me with this cloister comes into this team's veteran As a leader to his players and I think that obvious first of all they they release a lot of their comes and it's pretty clear that places leader these guys not only that he's older than these guys and he's had more titles. I'm sure. I'm sure all his teammates would say the same thing. So I feel like I would have loved to see some capacity were still involved as a power sub on the team because guys in east sports it's not just going to be these this roster verse Dash Roster All. The time. We're GONNA have teams that throw in a sub in game two maybe they throw on a seven game five they're on their specialist in game one so on and so forth. So I kinda get confused when I think about that dynamic is like how do you let go of this guy when he's a leader? He's one of the truest veterans of the scene is clearly skilled and you have the potential ever power sub who can still be a leader for your team. So there's a lot of questions there for me. I answer that question for you because I think, I know what it is I. Can I mean Paul Area? Oh I have a theory you better have. Your theories probably going to be the same as my theory I mean. This this is like cost-cutting, right? The like these teams are all burning prodigious amounts of cash. Call of duty Lee activision blizzard. Done much on the Economic Split Front I'm sure right I guarantee you the honest messaging from activision blizzard. His guys were not expanding this year. You know don't bet on any increase in dollars coming in from the league. Three three next year. But so so the very simple they look at the roster and they go who's the most expensive player it's our oldest guy three time champ like. But he's probably the highest player and they go. Well, we killing and the reality is, and I'm totally speculating now I've never seen this guy's contract but I'm expecting a lot of these contracts are done to in once right two years plus one right so he's played out. It's a free break. There's no penalty fee for it. Maybe some other guys are in the I truly suspect it's economic. It's either that or there is such a radical change coming to the game beyond the four four format Matt that. Counter Strike Wellness Check

"You know it's also been rough though this year which that's counterstrike I. Feel like the year twenty twenty, really the entire calendar year has been a rough go for our baby boy counterstrike I feel like we have had very little positive stories to talk about with counterstrike so I figured. Normally. We do this. You know two or three times a year the state of CIS where we kind of let everyone know, hey, this is what's been going on. This is an update for everything I didn't feel like that was really the proper way. Do I feel like we need to do a wellness check? Right now like CS needs to go see a doctor and get a checkup because it's been rough. Yeah I mean it obviously Kovic been rough on everybody but see s one of the most appealing factors is the the rivalries between. Countries and you Brazil like that's Kind of create a story line within itself like it's it's just so big. It's not like League of legends where the leagues are really a hundred percent split up and then they only meet each other at these really big events throughout the year for counterstrike they're consistent rivalries. You can have a you rivalries on the rag like it happen every event for the most part in. So from that standpoint, it's affected it more than other games, but then you just have the consistent storyline at their storyline at the storyline that will get into that really just hurt like emotionally feeling it you. Know like I'm feeling emotional about this game because there's so much going on in, you want counterstrike to remain at the top. If you've been a fan for counterstrike as long as we have in, you see little in the armor right that we hadn't really seen before there really hasn't been much competition not only within the genre, but in east sports as a whole, very few games can stand up to that bar in in your starting to feel that slip a little bit. It's not it's not gone obviously it's not even like really lowered itself from where it's at but you're seeing. Chinks in the armor that you feel like, Hey, if we don't fix some of the soon, we could have a bigger problem. long-term has anything that we've we are about to talk about. Affected your. Viewing mentality just one that would be the first thing I want to bring up is the most recent coaches cheating scandal when you're in an online era in although I always told myself like people find a way to take advantage of the system right I was thinking more along the lines of like people had twitch dreams up and they were like getting information that way in that's like stuff that's really hard to control and monitor. But like what can you do if your valve Annette instance like there's not a whole lot if people are playing from homes or off site facilities like you can only do so much so I don't blame them in that instance with the coaches cheating scandal. It really hurt the integrity of the game like there's just so many people involved and I feel like we're just getting to the start of the scandals between the coaching cheating in the MD l.. match-fixing stuff that we're about to hear more about we don't know enough yet but will hear more about this affects the game like this becomes a problem. 'CAUSE now you'RE GONNA see people lose jobs over it. You're GONNA see vowel maybe make stricter coaching rules over this INALSA look at you like you cheated. That's not a good thing right like all these coaches and teams not just coaches, coaches, teams like next time. You make a big fuss about something. This is going to get thrown in your face until this like Aeros. Changed your moved on but yeah that that will leave more of a lasting impression on the game I. Think we're done with me is like definitely has like you see some of these teams and some of these events like I like. I don't know if I'm as. It's still like like the finals and everything are still super exciting. But yeah, it has kind of like in the back of my mind no matter how much I don't want to think about it. It's like, okay. Well, what what is going on that I'm not aware of at the moment. And I know we had Craig on last week or last episode, and he kind of gave his outsiders ingle on it and that kind of made me think to like you know. To me like I understand you're not what's the saying you're not trying if you're not cheating. You're not trying if you're not cheating. Yes. Sounds, but it's also sounds wrong. You get what? You get what I'm saying and I do agree with that statement. However. It also leaves a very bad taste in my mouth that this is apparently been a bug now for years. So you can't just say, oh, it's part of the online quote unquote era it's been around for years valve has been made aware of it. Now, valve could've nipped in the bud a long ago had been guys were aware of this coaching bug do not do it. If you do it, we will restart the round or if it happens will restart the round. If you don't tell us, you're gonNA forfeit no be punishment. That's when I'm like okay. The onus is now on the team and the coaches. But. The fact that valve has known about it hasn't made a ruling like that. I'm like all right. Well, then apart from an organization responsibility to be like, Hey, you did cheat. It's like I'm torn right like cheating is never okay but at the same time. Cheating you're not trying and it's just like I I'm almost like. Split down the middle backwards again whatever you go. I'm almost torn straight down the mid on how to feel about this I know valve made a statement. Did they mention anything about knowing this? Yeah they did they knowledge that they said you know it's it's unfortunate in frustrating that we did not respond to this bugs sooner. Now again, we think that responding offer at least two years later. The only reason they're responding now is because. Their hands have been forced. There was a but with that statement in it says, but bugs or the reality of software in until their resolved, we need to be able to trust the players coaches I have a huge problem with that because yeah although bugs are. Part of. The reality of software sewer bug fixes you know you identify a bug, you go in and you fix it. We understand that things can happen. We understand that you introduce a new gun into the game like the Ra and you have to deal with scaling and getting it just right like it's not everything is going to be perfect but we're talking about a game breaking bug from a competitive standpoint in a multibillion dollar industry that you chose to ignore for so long

Boston Uprising Beat Houston Outlaws in Overwatch Playoffs

"We gotta start at the top but Boston uprising defeating the Houston outlaws it three to one. I, know shrug in chat as has shown up specifically to hear this one's Oh. People will will tune in for this one I mean like I was very vocal about it after the match on twitter. It's it's very easy to deduce what went wrong in this game and that is a woefully under coached and unprepared team tried to do something that's never been viable in the history of overwatch. And they tried to do it at a time when it makes little sense as humanly possible for their strategy to be effective and This was purely a coaching failure to me. There's just no two ways around it. They lost to a team that had previously won two games on the season that we discussed this potentially being actually worsen over watch the the Owen Forty Shanghai dragons from season. One we on ironically had that conversation They tried to run Faira in a hit scan Meta that that's it. They treated it like it was a lock and load must pick day Spanish. How Long Months Months. Training a GPS player to become their main tank and then when they needed their main tank to play a GPS hero like road hog, they swap in different DPS player to. Free up their main tank player to fly around in the sky and play Farah. Now if you'RE WANNA run fair I have no issue with it being hydration right that the man was previously transcendent on the hero like he did things that nobody else was really able to do on a was I'm talking back, season one. Better. Find is a history lesson not not a a me trying like compare people recent times. So I have no issues with with hydration being that guy but. The road hog was perfect for him. What we're seeing throughout this tournament is that Kinda Best Road for the teams that are using it Are the maintain players that adapt into it There's a certain of positioning in coordination in a style to this version of roadlog. If you're running a measure main tank, you still kinda needed to operate as your main tank in needs the control space and hold corners and just absolutely play it much like you would a reinhard in a way. You know you're playing on your corners and you're using your natural cover because you don't have a shield still kind of in the same position and now we have. blase coming in and playing it and I thought he did a pretty good job. I mean people were talking about how great fusions looked kind of thought blase out performed fusions. But he did it in a different style that was kinda worse for the team or he was much more flaky. He was much more Ganji player. South road hogs. So our doom players, the accurate one, right that's what what ways and it just didn't quite have the same level of impact. But I think he kind of outperformed fusions thought he got more value out of the picked infusions dead. This fight was lost in the hero select screen. Apparently, their first scrim because in a game where. And Ash are two of the best DPS selections they decided. We can run fair with a one hundred percent pick right and it's just gonNa work and that's like I said something that's never once been true in the history of overwatch like even when widowmaker and macree and ash suck. It doesn't work because you have diva you have. Anna were both also mainstays in the lineup for the Boston uprising. They never have of a counter area you're doing it. Why would we stop doing? It was just asinine. Eh. Just absolutely ridiculous. There was no backup strategy they going into the last map they played it on everything Lee Jang Tower control, center like literally everywhere. It doesn't matter how bad at historically is it doesn't matter anything. They're just like this was right right it's. Been True. There's no indication indication that this should be true. Every theory craft and you could possibly do tells you fair as this is the same chief, isn't the pack for her next patches live. Server. Patch, I could see that being a viable strategy because they really are doing allowed to the hit scans and they're adding damage fall off to widowmaker and all these things right? Are they doing those things dream? Why are they doing those things harsha because they hit scan heroes are overpowered. So you just literally three headed your way into being beaten by the worst team in the. League You all should be fired literally everybody in the coaching staff should just go and and you've got to rebuild again because they just literally. The worst coaching job I can remember seeing in overwatch leaving I can't even sit there and blame the Oh and forty Shanghai. Dragons. Entirely on their coaching staff a little but good portion of it was just a roster wasn't capable at Sarah there. This roster was absolutely capable of the task at hand. The fact that everybody loves the PICK ON THE HOUSTON outlaws and everybody nobody wants to give him credit nobody picks him in any pickles ever ninety five percent of brackets were busted by this game.

PUBG Corp Tries to Get PUBG Mobile Back in India

"Last week we cover the news that Pudgy mobile the biggest sport in India by a wide margin was banned in the country that was due to rising tensions with China. And PUDGY mobile being developed by ten set the Chinese Mega Company G. The main game is not actually developed by ten set. It's developed by the pub G Corp of subsidiary of Blue Hole a company based in South Korea. Now, the Pudgy Corp is taking over publishing rights for Pudgy Mobile in India there's no guarantee that this will appease the Indian government's concerns of course tens is still The publisher of the game and all other regions and just having the Pudgy Corp takeover India's publishing rights isn't a full distancing from the Chinese company plus when push comes to shove ten cent is much much bigger than Pudgy. Corp. so even if Public Corp takes over India operations there to be some hesitancy, if there will actually be true distance from ten set this matters for few major. Eastwards works as well. Both fanatic in tears invested heavily in Pudgy Mobile in India they picked up rosters and fanatic even open up offices in the country. What Drives the NBA 2K League with OG King Curt

"Momentum especially in the last few months a lot of people watching NBA Two k. one of the most watched NBA to gate broadcast ever as the players not for the to Kaley Mba players actually played to gate a tournament back in May I think it was is just been a lot of momentum around the game and the eastward seen as a whole. Now I know everything is better now those payouts are great. The contracts are gay but whatever I talk with people at ease sports always this level of nostalgia for the own the old days of the grassroots tired of its the hotel ballroom tired of its is there anything for those old days that you miss about him where it was just people coming together play for passionate or just everything better now? I'll tell you it's fifty fifty I mean I. Always remember where I came from in. Just the memorable experiences I had throughout this journey. But fortunately for me since I was basically Pioneer Aninat space is that I still get the the see some of the same people I'm bed. You know help me get started along the way that's from players to current managers and GM. So is Kinda like You know we all grew up together. So to speak in being able to see where we came from to where we are now is is is something that I still have to pinch myself from time to time and in and realize where I really came from and where I'm at. Definitely the NBA Two K. as fourteen is always felt like this really tight knit circle. There's. Just, the people that have been around this sports scene for a long time and had a driver for so long and it seems like there's just this this core group of people who are so passionate about it at our Dow in these elevated roles at the Abates UK leak working with be franchises and doing broadcasts that are being seen by thousands of thousands of people. It's pretty awesome to say. Now, definitely like I said it's I. Call Dream Work of course is is challenging I'm I've learned a lot of different things along the way because you know you go you go from being a grassroots, a tournament and league organizer out to actually working with the NBA. Franchising using the same model. That they use to to build brands and sponsorships with their actual NBA team. So I'm you know although I've had extreme knowledge into K learning getting over into the NBA aspect of it as far as brandon sponsors is definitely a grew me up time last couple years. doubt the NBA I mean that's just it's another level that that nowy sports is are we look at the NBA and the brands they've brought it to the NBA to Kaley I'm total brand new done a lot of writing for ad week. So run through some of these Att Bud Light Champion Hyper X. panerabread. Tips I don't even know how to say that would Swiss watches a new era stickers Jordache gave stop there's so many brands that are part of the two k-league at subway more so that even you sports leagues that a better established for a really long time. The NBA Two K. League just has all these grads. That's really thanks to the the connections of the NBA and the knowledge the NBA has in in pursuing the sponsorships. Law Without a doubt I mean when you hear those three letters NBA a, it's attractive and and a lot of brands want to be affiliated with it, and then you know in partnership to us with the phillies teams is the same concept. You know you hit a Brooklyn Nets or Golden State Warriors and Ben by the fact that they have affiliate teams, I'm they just WANNA find a way to be a part of an and has been very beneficial for teams like like Ma. These CS:GO Coaches Just Got Banned For Cheating

"The go seen just got by gigantic cheating scandal and no I'm not talking about a bunch of nobody's getting caught hacking and the F. L. This happened at the highest level of competitive counter strike and three coaches were banned and on top of that, there's been a second investigation with up to potentially fifteen different cases of match-fixing happening at the semi pro level. It's been a rough month for couch. All right. So for a while now we've been streaming over a twitch dot TV slash the score, east sports with our talk show clouded, and if you love the stories that we cover here on donut mean well, you're GonNa love some of the conversations that we have over on twitch. We break down some of the biggest stories from East sports in streaming and we talk a little ship while we're at. So make sure you follow the channel and hit that notification button. So you know exactly when we go live and you can watch me get roasted for two hours straight the news. Of this cheating scandal broke day after esl one Cologne finished is published an investigation and they say quote we were made aware that by taking a combination of different steps of Bogin Cisco allows the coach of a team to become a spectator anywhere on the map unbeknownst to anyone else and so yeah, this coaching exploit as it's being called basically allows a coach to place themselves anywhere on the map and then swivel their camera from side to side and theoretically take any info that they gather from that and give it to their players. It's basically one giant broken cypher cam like in foward. Check this ship. Now, the bombshell at the heart of ESL's investigation is the fact that they've proved coaches from heroic MIB are and hardly talk use this exploit at multiple different ESL events leading up to esl one Cologne. Three teams competing at the highest level of counterstrike cheated in the investigation is said that the exploit violated quote section six point ten, five use of glitches and quote of esl's Rupel to be very clear is says that all of this happened prior to the start of esl one Cologne and that in fact, the exploit was actually patched out prior to the tournament started, and so these rulings are the result of a long investigation that just happened to be published at the same time that he also Cologne was finishing. The investigation also says at what tournament the coaches abused the exploit hardly coach Makino gun use the exploit at esl one road to Rio on six maps in three matches Perot's coach. Used the exploit at Dream Hack master spring in ten rounds on one map and Coach dead used the exploit at ESL one road to Rio in one round on one map on Thursday September fourth former NRP IP coach Pita admitted to abusing the coaching exploits during an EP L. Match Against Mel Sports back in two thousand eighteen and like I mentioned off the top these aren't just some punk teams cheating their way through F pl or some shit. This is the highest level of competitive counterstrike, its coaches and players competing amongst the best of the best and being found guilty of cheating in an online tournament with a prize pool of three hundred, fifty, thousand dollars on top of. That her minutes to win the European portion of one Cologne and they look fucking doing dominating some of the best teams in the world magic going from heroes to cheaters in the span of twenty four hours and the way we know about this exploit and the fact that coaches have been abusing it over the last few months is thanks to freelance East Sports, referees, me Kaos Lewinsky and Steve Dudin off they spent dozens of hours poring over thousands of different demos and meticulously documenting any time they thought the export was being used a big props goes out to those guys now unfortunately, coaches abusing this. Is, not limited to esl vets beyond the summit recently put out a statement that says basically that dead the coach for Mbr was found guilty of using this exploit and beyond the summit six in the most damaging part of the statement is where they said that dead explicitly knew how to fix the exploit and continue to abuse it anyway quote de demonstrated he knew how to fix the glitch while maintaining competitive integrity prior to see US summit six online by requesting technical timeout disconnecting and reconnecting which happened in the May first of match versus Mb. At, ESL. One Road to Rio and then from there, they go on to say that quote dead knowingly abused the coach spectator glitch to obtain an unfair competitive advantage and ours lower bracket round three match versus triumph at summit, six online on June. Twenty third and quote yeah. That whole give him the benefit of the doubt type thing goes out the window on this. Now, as you can imagine, the punishments handed down in the response online was both fast and fierce. Here's ESL's punishments. All three coaches rox hunting is banned from competing and coaching an ESL events for a year. Dead is banned for six months and hard legions. Makino gun is banned for wapping twenty four months or a full two years on top of that all three teams will retroactively be disqualified from the tournament in question while also forfeiting both their esl pro tour points and the prize money earned from those tournaments man you sell is not fucking around and. Beyond the summit band dead from the next to be Vance while also retroactively disqualifying maybe from beyond the summit six and they basically have to forfeit their prize money as well. Now, at the time of recording this, hardly June is the only team that's released a public statement on the matter and they basically said that they've dropped mechanica quote yesterday we received. A letter from ESL announcing the decision to ban or coach for two years. It was difficult for us to believe in Alexander's guilt but we had to conduct a personal investigation of this situation based on the results of internal discussions. We decided that the punishment from ESL was fair. We refuse to make any appeal and we are staying in the side of. The tournament organizers and and predictably lot of the responses from the scene on online. A whole bunch of you gotta be fucking kidding from pros to analysts to popular content creators. Of course, Brazilian fans everybody is thoroughly pissed off, and honestly people should be pissed off because while this exploit doesn't involve all hacks or a mocks or some other stereotypical idea of. It still seriously undermines the competitive integrity of CS go

Valve's response to DPC

"So I wasn't sure how to approach US exactly but this may seem a little weird. We're going to read off the entire post that vowed made. We're going to split it up so that people don't get sick on my voice, of course. It's essentially read it in your normal voice or you're going to read it in your dramatic voice because if you read it a new dramatic voice, people get sick of it after one minute I what I was not planning on doing anything in my normal voice. But now that you brought it up, it would annoy people it makes me want to do it more now but regardless how you are. Valve has responded Holy Shit in valve has finally responded. To the community regarding the season that is to come. We've kind of split up between that and the Doda TV slash streaming. News. So let let's talk about the first thing which is the DPC's. So again, it's going to be a bit of a along read. We've heard a lot of the complaints re recently about the state of the DP and we agree that there's more that we should do. We want it to use this blog to walk you through what happened before what our thoughts were and what we will do going forward. Spring Twenty twenty. Once the extent of the covid nineteen pandemic became clear. We posted our plans to delay the international started pre-booking arenas for various alternative dates and countries around the world. We then began researching how to execute the international based on how different, how the different pandemic scenarios could play with the hope that we'd be able to host it as soon as possible since the spring DPC events could no longer operate anymore we started reaching out to the organizers to see what they wanted to do going forward. Some of these organizers shared their desires to run third party events to cover the period march through the end of summer. Summer Twenty twenty twenty one split this up between you and You keep going. I'll do the summer twenty, twenty, do the rest. Sorry Twenty twenty as we approached the middle of the summer, the volatility of the pandemic had grown significantly. We became very concerned about the impact it would have on future deep-sea events and the International. The global situation meant that cross regional play would be unlikely for a period of time and we have since seen scenarios globally and other competitions where teams from certain countries had to be excluded after qualifying do abrupt travel restrictions and complications. Americans can't go anywhere syndrome unless it's Ukraine Hanley while we had that was not part of the quote just to let you guys. Inter and you're. Not The competent then I would love under sprinkle in a little couple things like that just to spice it up you know but anyway. While we had already assumed that having a cry for the events was not in the cars we wanted to at least have confidence able to bring all teams together across region competition. We felt that was a very important component of how we allocate DC points for the International. We were also unsure of when the international itself would happen and given the significant lead time needed. The increase spread and the virus made harder to model out a timeframe with confidence. The potential of the season as narrative feeling to detach from the path towards the international was negative for us doing that would also necessitate a DP point decay system, which in and of itself isn't a bad thing but having to abruptly introduced decay midseason if the landscape changes has some additional downsides. Furthermore, we had also received some feedback from a couple of or that were either worried about the quality of the broadcast being lower or reluctant to want to operate GPC events in the fall altogether while neither the Cross region competition nor the relative distance to the international or absolute requirements. We felt the DPC as both the function of the international, and also as a coherent product for fans would be better served by holding off on them for. Now given that our plan was that we'd make the upcoming months open and clear for other leagues and Events to operate. Our approach historically has been to want third party tournus be able to exist outside of the international though the degree of that has been fluid over the years demands from fans and players for more structured circuits to lead to increased. Our hope was that we could both achieve a better and more coherent relationship between DC and TI. By approaching it this way as well as still along for third party events to have an impact with the overall Anders Zolt for fans still being that, there would be entertaining content to watch. In the fall. I'll give you this parrot this last section center in the you're not paying attention or you want me to read everything still you don't want them finish talking about this one I mean, do you want to break it up that way? That's fine as well as I guess, we should read the next. Okay. Moving forward. Soon. After we announced that there were not immediately proceeding that we were not immediately proceeding with GPS planned we received a lot of negative feedback from fans. We think that a lot of the points that were raised were reasonable criticisms toward us especially because we did not communicate what our intentions were and what they could expect in the future. that it doesn't say there guys. For this upcoming competitive season, there are going to be at least four third party events and leaks in the EU CIS, three in China and a few others that are still in the preliminary planning stages and are not able to commit at this time. However, there is still going to be a lot of teams, Casas organizers and fans around the world that are not going to be meaningfully served based on the current trajectory, and that is our fault for not pushing on those and supporting them enough. With that in mind, we started reaching out to many more tournament organizers to offer help and financial support in order to be able to create increased coverage globally for the remainder of the year we expect that these eventually gradually announced over the remaining season as they as soon as they are ready to communicate to fans and teams. And other feedback we got from players as well as fans was wanting more clarity in what we were thinking where the likely dates for deep-sea and tied to resume. Our look right now is that we're anticipating the start of the in the first month or two of twenty twenty one. Our hope is that by the end by the time, the first deep-sea leak concludes travel limitations will be more predictable. Spontaneous restrictions will be less likely this allowing for majors with Cross region competition happen where also operating under the assumption that the most likely outcome is for the International to happen in Stockholm in August twenty, twenty one. while. We have other countries backups. We recognize that fans would be upset if we moved to another location if the time savings

Discussing Dota 2 & Team League Models - With John Yao - CEO at Team Secret

"So can you talk about like the you know the foundation of take grit out is different to say traditionally sports organization you know how the how the play is kind of at the center of everything. Sure sure you know when I look out in the ecosystem and not everything is like this right but a lot of teams are It's a it's kind of split where a lot of teams are player own operated in lead right which which is really good for content creation engaging with the community that kind of thing but usually like on the business side economy falters. And then you know you have a lot of new entrance into east sportswear. It's a very traditional business executive-led right whether it's you know a private Equity Company that invests eastwards. Put say a leader in place or someone from traditional. Traditional. Media The comes in place and weeds on these sports team. Where connection to the fan base in the audience is not so great. And generalizing here, right there's all different kinds of other other models I'm for us. We kind of saw this happening and what we wanted to do was to say, okay, you know, I, come from a background of traditional business. I can come run the business, build the business, but we wanted to also have very authentic and have a huge amount of player lead influence into how we build the brand into how he engaged with the fan base and the community and so that's why you know working with the DOE team has kind of foundation we said, let's build out team secret originally adopted team, but we can expand the business. We can build it into an actual business rather than just a, you know a player T-. Even today you know we. on the business side, you know run the business but on the ownership front we have some players that have ownership in the business and are also involved in the day today activities. You know we've been lucky enough to have on the PODCAST and scraped content with a few kind of like OJ's is the industry especially you know you had. We've had God's. All the you know he's being paramount in in a lot of commentary and building the same globally and we had pay p day kind like the shining light out of trying to build anymore it's America We've had unloader from Sweden as well and I guess you guys have another one especially, which is in the interim with poppy. So I'd love to I'd love to talk from your perspective around a lot of my discussion with paper day especially was around the business structure of the way that daughter to works versus are other Games. So there's like an article that came out about a Singapore tame, which is just disbanded was like the the shining stuff out of that region and. One of the major reasons they said that it that it disbanded his Ju to just a lack of understanding or the lack of support from valve in the to infrastructure it's it's you know it's great presence and cradle content around how you know the DOJ to international is the largest single single price police boats tournament. You know thirty plus million dollars in the first place team will often walk away with ten million dollars in the pocket and it's fantastic. You Ajay and you win those inter but it's it's not great if you don't qualify for the international or you know if you want to rely on something other than simply pros money so be interested in talking about. How do you say that the dietary market obviously guys legal agents Tuesday say by Candidate that franchise very strict model of detaining applying onset and Thomson indicts. You've got all that structure heady. This is done until you, which is just really all over the place but but massive priciples. Yeah I mean I think there are pros and cons of both models I think in. League of legends at the the model tends to be more Even across more equitable across tons of opportunities where all the teams and I think in Doda, it's very much like feast or famine I if you know. If you look at all the teams right from previously is it's like. Either you're a top four team and you. kind of break even or slash make a small profit or you're not a top four team and you're just like losing money all the time. Basically note right and it's like the the price was a little bit of a Mirage because. In Doda, the majority, the vast majority of the price will go to the players and this is not knock on the players because I think the players are super telling that they deserve everything that they that they earn right But outside of price full, there's not a huge amount of other opportunities except for direct sponsorship. For teams actually drive right and you need teams because you know. Not every player is like some players are very mental to be in contact creators influences on all that stuff but the vast majority players I know just WanNa, play I. WanNa play, and so in order for Doda and Doda brands to to build into sort of products. And to market the players into engage and build the audience and do all these things. You'd Orquesta do that right? Because the players are not going to do it themselves and they didn't WanNa do themselves they want to they want they WANNA play right? They want to figure out strategies they want perfect game. And so you need to have an ecosystem around as supporting structure around that to be able to enable them to do that as well as. Create this product around Doda so that the fans can engage in consume it. And I think the I think the finances did the structure Doda is is dangerous because you know the the the kitchen seen not not super well supported even in the tier one scene beyond top four teams I don't think you're doing too well. and you'd see you know teams exit. You see teams go in and out. I'm for these reasons because it's like you either you're winning all the time and you're kind of stable from that because you have some price earnings or. You know you're just like middle of the pack number seven, number, eight, I, I don't think you're doing too well. You're really relying on brand sponsorships and things

Call of Duty's Gunsii Talks Change from 5v5 to 4v4 and RosterMania

"Less than twenty four hours after everyone Chaffetz activision blizzard announced the. Four for the next season, which changed from five five to forty four. Now, this is a bit of returned to its roots colored duties sports a four before was how everything used to run but what that change happening gear with no expansion beyond the twelve ts CDL suddenly, twelve spots for pros have disappeared at the highest level the change to forty four reserve the controversial. So players Ford Southern gutsy. Where do you say that change? honestly it's a, it's a very huge change I. Remember growing up being younger watching for before and then seeing the expansion five and an amateur scene that kind of got everyone's hopes up because they it being bobby five there's more spots there's more opportunities there's just there's just more to it. Now going back to forty four it's just a lot of competition. I thought I thought last year in the amateur scene. There was a lot of good talent out there and a lot of good anyone can be picked up this next upcoming year. But how it went back to forty four, it's going to be gladiator. Definitely, it seemed like a lot of teams defaulted to who some of the old guns veterans who've been call of duty for quite a long time this I hear the CDL but we also saw a lot of rookies. You saw the empire shots Utah Mac for the New York subletters really turnaround that team belt midseason, Y- There's value in having some of these young players you know people might recognize some of the big names but having young players having that young energy has shown to be really successful for a lot of teams. Yeah I agree one hundred percent I see a lot of the older people, all the people that commute competed saying how people always forget but I think there's just a lot of talent emceeing that you just have to take a chance like. There's just so much talent out there. There's so many people unknown people that don't get that chance. It don't have the connections to get to the next level, but they have that potential night just feel like if more professional teams take a chance on the obscene or brought more spotlight that it can just show like the potential we have in here. Absolutely you know previous success is not necessarily an indicator that you're going to continue being graded a game call of duty is just a game that changes each year at East sports in in all people just fall off at a certain point you gotta be make sure you're bringing in the young players, the people that could really source the seen few like the teams that are having the most success because if you could just grab a guy that was great on optic for years ago, dot com out any particular. Maybe. But that's not necessarily going to be great CDL. So you have to make sure that you're up-to-date with WHO IS THE BEST Of the youngest of the upcoming right now, I mean it has been a while since we've had new players like into the scene lake. I personally feel I. Don't personally feel but I, think it's time for like a new generation of that would make sense like I'm not calling them old but. I don't know I don't know where I'm going with this. No I. Think you're right. I talked about this a little bit with Mac on the show is that there's sort of a changing of guard first of all word the CD L. wherein entirely new eastward structure we've already seen. J.. Cap Who is one of those guys who's long time success retire we saw Karma retire we saw you know. Empire wins the championship at its. cloister that they drop waster. I can kramer clay for a second but yeah, they drop Claes who's now a three time world champion at keep the rookies keep some of the the other guys that. So it's feels like there is a bit of a changing of the guard. It's just up to some of those team managers to be like, okay we're gonNA take the chance on somebody who maybe doesn't have the pedigree but has the skill, and then they could start just you saw with Mac is hey, does it take long? If you start having success, you can start building your own brand. quickly.

CS:GO Scene Deals with Match-Fixing, Cheating Scandal

"Sports had a massive opportunity to connect with betting world. During this pandemic. A ton of sports books were approving E. Sports events for wagering and regulating bodies were getting on board. Each sports betting in legal settings has slowly been growing over the past six or so years, but the pandemic push everything forward. Then the cheaters started coming out more sports, books, offering lines and more bets coming in means more incentives and more opportunities for people to fix matches. The main operator making sure eastward competitions are fair from abetting perspective is the East Sports Integrity Coalition or ES. I see today they announced investigation into fifteen. Separate reported cases of match-fixing. In the Ese a mountain dew league. This investigation has actually been going on for over a year now, and findings are expected to be released within the next four weeks. It seems like they're definitely going to find at least a few cases. This has potentially far-reaching consequences when I buy power was found match-fixing back in two thousand fifteen, the team received a permanent ban valve doesn't play around when it comes to this type of thing and neither do the operators of the major cisco competitions, and that's not the only issue in the world right now, a few coaches have also found exporting bugs to cheat for their teens. The coaches of made in Brazil heroic and hard legion have all received bands ranging from a few months to a few years depending on how many times they were found to be cheating the bulk effectively let than spectate from other places on the map, they shouldn't be able to see. They then relayed the other players positions to the players on their team and use that as an advantage. These sheets were done in major competitions dream Hack in esl. And Modern Times group the parent company adultery. Mac and ESL stepped into these bands of place. Then the I see came in impose those same bands for a wide variety of is competitions going further than just the events that fall under the modern times group umbrella. For now, it's just the coaches of those three teams, but this is an evolving story. Now, the bug has been exposed community members are searching to see if anyone else has exploited it so far no players have found be complicit in the cheating, but that could change as well.

Everyone is Cheating in Counter Strike

"Let's go over here to the scandal and drama going on here because it is not your typical cs topic a nude I feel like normally when we talk about Cs, it's happy thoughts. It's our feel-good place. We're talking tournaments we're talking big roster moves I thought this was behind us in the tier one scene. And it has been broken out like wildfire and it's definitely not the last of it where we are seeing coaches. Being banned left and right now with the scene. So to fill everyone in, the might not know there's a bug where there was a bug in the game that would allow a coach and correct me if I'm wrong here, newt, essentially the coach would sometimes like spawn in certain parts of the map and then could look around like three sixty see everything that's going on so that obviously the disadvantage or the advantage of this as you could see where the other team might be going and things like that. Correct. Basically. A Cypher Kim. Yeah right or South for ten. It's exactly like a cipher came from Valerie and yet it would spun you in a random spot. Sometimes, we saw happened in spawn so you can see what the opposing team was buying know which way they were splitting in how that would work. Sometimes, it was literally in the middle of the bombsite right and it just froze you overhead in gave you kind of full three, sixty view if you move your mouse around, you can see everything. Yeah and so it's been recently busted that a number of coaches have been taking advantage of this bug and now it's a hot topic. So let's just kind of. A go through this. So I guess the whole reason the started is zoo said peacemaker were the first to report the bug which has since been patched right. But then esl kind of started going back and like reviewing the tapes and films and things like that to see if anyone is taking advantage of this and now I will say this and I will give you credit specifically because you've said it multiple times on. The show if you don't think people have been and are still going to cheat in the online era of of e sports, you are ridiculously naive and I know a new you have said that in different words on the show before but now I I'm a believer I'm buying into your belief that of course, in one way or another, all these guys are going to find an edge whether that be cheating or not. Cheating is not only like aim hacking or wall hacking, right? Like that's speed hacking whatever the hacks that you see it's not just that that could easily pop up a twitch stream in have that on the monitor where they could be relayed information of economy. Right? You would know the economy, you will get a general idea of. You get a little bit more information than you obviously normally could. I'm. Not Saying it's. Everybody. Tries to find didn't edge. That's just the world of competitive sports whether it's traditional sport or needs for people try to find an edge in this seemed like one of the obvious ways it could be done now didn't help that counterstrike had a bug in the game that also allowed this to happen. Right. But at the end the day people knew it was their coach news, their players knew it was there and they allowed. It Tappan and they took advantage of it in man did we get a ton of evidence like on people take really I think we're just getting to the typically icebreaker I. think There is so much more floating down beneath that. We will get not even talking about tier two or tier three S. this was probably in occurrence in in most matches would be my guest but I think from even tier one we're really just. Starting to scope it out and find out what's happening. Stuff's even coming out today. Yeah. So some of the big ones here I think. From just a more recent standpoint, heroic the coach for heroic hundred. ENDED UP, getting busted for using it during the dream. Hack Masters Spring in ten rounds on one map. and. That's just what they've reported so far I can only imagine. He's done it then more reports on him now that also come out, it's happened more than as they're watching more film and again, these were just for esl sanctioned. Right so now you're having other organizations or other attorney or got. Going back and watching and reviewing their tapes right. So this is all just I mean it's just a giant web that's getting cast it out there now, people watching the film. So I just want to throw out this gentleman's name because he's really the one that kind of helped break everything by doing the legwork and that's meet you from ESL. Lewinsky might be pronouncing that right him in Steve doned went through fifteen hundred demos. It took them three weeks of basically each doing at twelve hours a day to go through all these demos to find stuff in I mean, look they. Not, only catching the ones that have just gotten band, but they're pushing more information out now for other demos at they're finding letting other event organizers know that, Hey, this was a bug. This is a timeframe has been going on in now we're seeing it from like what beyond the summit just came out and released their sanctions today. This is affecting road to Rio. Now because points situations have been messed up in. Teams have been eliminated that we'll talk about in a second but for heroic, it's a really big stain because they just came off of the win of Cologne people were looking at them and really a positive light right like that. Feel good time. Do you want to? Sets you WANNA know how fast life can come at you and edge if you go hundreds twitter account. His one, he has his two recent tweets. Heroic, second, best in the world two hundred has been suspected. He tweeted. Just like instantly he goes UA were second best in the world to I am now suspended like that's how fast life can hit you in this. In this world you've got a one year suspension right for for what he's done in. Again, there could be more coming down right like we haven't heard official rulings from valve yet on if they're going to take action on this or if they're just gonNa let the to's handle it. But yeah, the definitely be more I mean he he's getting a twelve month ban.
